An Empty Tumblr Memoir of a Pulp Enthusiast. The best thing about an empty glass is you can fill it with anything. In my case, Pulp (usually half Noir half SciFi), with a generous amount of film, a splash of comics and animation, and a twist of games (any variety), stir while listening to jazz (substitute another fine musical genre for a buck more), serve on the rocks with a slice of literature on the rim. Remember to tip your bartender and thanks for stopping in.
This is the BEST goddamn entertainment podcast around, and one that not enough people have heard of, and that's a huge shame. SO much variety and laughter. Do yourself, and these talented writers, a favor and check it out.

P.S. Great job, n8bit on making this intro.

The thing about doing research before you draw is finding the length to wingspan ratio of a Harris’s Hawk and applying that to a 5’11 human, which results in
20 ft wingspans! How the heck would I get them to FOLD these without them dragging on the ground?????
For starters, find where the bones of the wing roughly are and bend them into shape. Then see where the tip of the longest primary feather would be (from the wrist where it bends) and then adjust how they are folded.
Remember that they're three-dimensional and often have a curve to them so let them curve forwards around the shoulders, be arched up if they have the strength, or have their whole posture adjust to compensate for balance and keeping wingtips off the floor.
Experiment with it and look to gifs of birds folding their wings for reference o:
A commission from a client who wanted Inspector Zenigata from Lupin the III drinking at a bar with Dick Gumshoe from Ace Attorney. Who am I to stand in the way of such a beautiful friendship?
Remember, when you’re writing about New York,
Faces are as important as buildings.
Dive deep into the subway, that gallery of portraiture;
Bathe your eyes in that flood of bitter truth.
It is not lovely, it proves no theorems,
But there is no weariness it cannot heal.
Generalizers on human trouble,
Have you courage to face those faces?
You, and you, and you, seen only once,
Good-bye forever, and good luck.
God I'm a sucker for characters who are so utterly loyal to someone that they're completely unhinged. Characters who have no moral compass except their overwhelming devotion to whoever they've chosen to listen to. That's the good shit
A comic book cover I made for my portfolio based on the old Gold Key Comics Star Trek Covers mashed up with the more modern IDW covers. Based on the TOS episode “Balance of Terror”, one of my all time faves.
I’ve always wanted to do some short comics about what the original 1971 Kamen Rider - Hongo Takeshi - got up to while he was busting Shocker’s evil branches overseas during his hiatus - ESPECIALLY in the United States. Consider this a lil preview of that comic!
