South Kashmir: 2nd militant surrenders after hectic persuasion: IGP Kashmir* October 26:One militant was killed while another militant surrendered before security forces in an ongoing operation in Noorpora area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told GNS that one militant was killed in intial exchange of firing, while the second militant who was trapped inside the encounter site agreed to surrender after hectic persuasion by the police and army. Its pertinent to mention that two newly recruited Al-Badr militants also surrendered before security forces in Sopore last week. *4-yr-old boy drowns to death in Bijbehara* Anantnag, Oct 26: A four-year-old boy drowned to death on Monday evening in Panjpora area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body identified as Muzamil Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh of Asthan Mohalla Panjpora accidently fell into a spring when he was riding his bicycle on the road. Soon after the incident took place, the family and neighbors of the boy started a rescue operation and removed him to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara where doctors declared him brought dead. 29 travelers among 364 new covid-19 cases in J&K, tally crosses 92K mark October 26 : 29 travelers were among 364 new covid-19 cases reported in last 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total count to 92225. Among the fresh cases, officials told GNS that 147 were reported from Jammu Division and 217 from Kashmir Valley. Giving district-wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 76 cases, Budgam 13, Baramulla 56, Pulwama 15, Kupwara 25, Anantnag 7, Bandipora 5, Ganderbal 13, Kulgam 1, Shopian 6, Jammu 108, Rajouri 0, Udhampur 4, Doda 6, Kathua 5, Poonch 10, Samba 2, Kishtwar 0, Ramban 7 and Reasi 5. Moreover, they said, 627 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 229 from Jammu Division and 398 from Kashmir Valley. *CRPF man who shot himself on Oct 12, succumbs in Sgr hospital* October 26 : A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who fired at himself with his service rifle on October 12 succumbed to his injuries late last night at SMHS hospital, Srinagar, officials said today. They told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a CRPF man who shot himself on October 12 and was admitted in SMHS hospital Srinagar. “Yesterday late night, his condition deteriorated and he breathed his last,” a source in the hospital said. The deceased belonged to D-Coy 141 battalion CRPF camp Shergari, Srinagar. 'We wanted to celebrate ascension day, give message to Mehbooba, Omar only national flag will remain in Kashmir' Srinagar, Oct 26: Jammu and Kashmir police Monday detained three BJP leaders from Kupwara who tried raise tricolour at Clock tower, Lal Chowk, Srinagar, this morning, officials said. They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that three BJP leaders from the party's Kupwara unit reached Lal Chowk, near clock tower ( Ghanta Ghar) this morning that include party spokesman from Kupwara Mir Basharat, and two other leaders—Mir Ishfaq and Akhtar Khan. Speaking to KNO ahead of their detention, BPJ spokesman for Kupwara, Mir Basharat said they came to Lal Chowk to hoist Tricolour to send a message to members of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar declaration that only national flag will remain in Kashmir. "Today we came to celebrate the day when Maharaja Hari Singh signed the instrument of accession with the Centre. Our message is for Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah and all other members of PAGD, that only tri colour will be unfurled in Kashmir," he said. *Encounter starts in Noorpora Awantipora* Pulwama, Oct 26: A gunfight broke out between militants and security in Noorpora area of Awantipora belt in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Monday evening. An official told News agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a joint team of Police, army’s 42 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
