To be controlled by moods is to be a part of matter. If you keep your mind on the resolve never to lose your peace, then you can attain godliness. Keep a secret chamber of silence within yourself, where you will not let moods, trials, battles, or inharmony enter. Keep out all hatred, revengefulness, and desires. In this chamber of peace God will visit you.

Affirm divine calmness and peace, and send out only thoughts of love and goodwill if you want to live in peace and harmony. Live a godly life yourself and everyone who crosses your path will be helped just by being with you.

The peaceful individual remains calm until he wants to work, then he swings into action; and as soon as he is through, he swings back to the centre of calmness. You must always be calm, like the pendulum that is still, but ready to swing into action whenever necessary

It is not necessary to go through every kind of human experience in order to attain ultimate wisdom. You should be able to learn by studying the lives of others. Why become helplessly involved in an endless panorama of events in order to discover that nothing in this world can ever make you happy?

May 19: Discrimination

Always keep your discrimination alive. Avoid those things that will not benefit you. And never pass your time in idleness.

Don't mentally review any problem constantly. Let it rest at times and it may work itself out; but see that you do not rest so long that your discrimination is lost. Rather, use these rest periods to go deep within the calm regions of your inner Self.

May 16: Discrimination

Don't advertise all your secrets in your desire to be honest. If you tell about your weaknesses to unscrupulous persons, they will have great times poking fun at you if on some future occasion they wish to hurt you. Why should you supply the "ammunition"? Speak and act in a way that will bring lasting happiness to yourself and others.

April 26: Happiness

A strong determination to be happy will help you. Do not wait for circumstances to change, thinking falsely that in them lies the trouble. Do not make unhappiness a chronic habit, thereby affecting yourself and your associates. It is blessedness for yourself and others if you are happy. If you possess happiness you possess everything; to be happy is to be in tune with God. That power to be happy comes through meditation.
