Historia De Un Amor: Chapter 5
“These are the interview questions for today."
“Thank you.” Wooyeon accepted the file and looked through the questionnaire. Usually before an interview, reporters would send in a list of questions. Today’s interview was with a reporter notorious for asking embarrassing questions to actors. That’s why the agency deliberately requested to ask him a premeditated question.
“I think it will take about 40 minutes or so.” Wooyeon, whose eyes were on the questionnaire, muttered as he estimated the expected time. Today, after this schedule, he was going to go home and rest.
“I’m going to turn in early today.”
“Yes. I see.”
“What do you do when you’re done? Do you go on date?”
“Oh, I don’t. Not that.”
“Why? Don’t you have a boyfriend?”
“…No.” He could see her hands tightly holding the steering wheel. Wooyeon leaned back on the seat and continued talking.
“Then what do you do on your day off?”
“Stay at home… and rest.” When she answered with something uninteresting, Wooyeon stopped his curiosity towards the manager and closed his eyes. Eunseo, who was contemplating about whether she should add another answer, noticed that the other person had completely closed his eyes and let out a small sigh.
Eunseo stopped the car in front of a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, the agreed meeting place. “We’re here. Where should I wait?” she turned her head towards the actor and asked.
“Come inside and let’s have a cup of tea together.”
“Excuse me...? Umm…I-” The manager had a hard time finding the words to say. Wooyeon was joking, and got out of the car. Eunseo pressed her hand to her heart. It was a habit these days. Calm down.
She found a parking lot, parked the car, and went out. After confirming that the reporter and Wooyeon were sitting opposite each other in the cafe with big windows, Eunseo took a seat on the terrace. The clerk came out and suggested that she have a seat inside, but she replied that she would be outside. It was still cold, so the friendly clerk brought a lap blanket along with the coffee the bizarre customer sitting on the terrace ordered.
Eunseo placed the blanket on her lap and wrapped her hands on the warm mug to warm her cold fingers.
According to the information he has gathered so far, Wooyeon doesn't like managers that stick to him like glue. It was important to keep an appropriate distance.
If it were up to Eunseo, she’d want to be by his side and take as many photos as she desired, there wasn’t much time left. Eunseo already knew that the maximum time she could be with Wooyeon as a manager was three months.
“It’s been ten days, plus today makes eleven, so... There’s not much time left.” Eunseo sighed as her head drooped low. She habitually turned her gaze to Wooyeon.
The side view of Wooyeon, who was having a conversation with a reporter near the window, was as beautiful as a painting. The scene where Wooyeon, with a neat and beautiful face, held a coffee cup in his hand looked like a masterpiece painting.
“…uh?”
Eunseo, who was spying on Wooyeon’s profile, stood up without hesitation.
“There were rumors floating around about this, what have you got to say?”
“Hahaha. There are rumors about it?” Wooyeon smiled softly, but he was swearing inside. Reporter Kim Haeshin, who was notorious for her tenacity, had been throwing the same question with a slurred smile for a while now.
“Just last year your manager changed five times. And you’ve gone through quite a few this year too. Can you give me a reason why that may be?”
“As I’ve told you before, they submitted their resignations for personal reasons. Do you have any other questions?” The purpose of this interview was to ask questions related to the movie to be released next month. But as soon as he sat down, this woman was like a mad dog, persistently pouring out only questions about his part managers.
“Don’t you think resignation is too frequent for personal reasons? Normally with a celebrity with an image as good as yours, the managers tend to work more long-term.”
“Am I the first exception then?”
Wooyeon smiled and picked up the coffee. The slyness was clearly visible. No matter what he answered, it was clear that this interview would be inflated with a provocative headline.
“I don’t know about that, when you’re a journalist, you soon learn there’s no smoke without fire,” Kim Haeshin clicked her pen.
How long do I have to suffer this interview? At times like this, if someone dies, it would be nice to use it as an excuse.
Tumblr media
He put down his coffee cup. Gradually, he felt the limit approaching. He looked at his watch and saw that he had been seated for less than ten minutes. Wooyeon smiled with a terrible thought in his head.
It was one of the most common types of malicious comments on Wooyeon’s articles. Although he was an actor famous for having no antis, he did not always have only good comments. “No one’s perfect. I’m human, so of course I also have bad sides to me.” Fuck, she’s pissing me off. ”
When he returned the stereotypical, obvious answer, reporter Kim Haeshin showed him her notebook with a smile. “If you look here. These are all the dates of when each manager arrived and left, right? Do you have any thoughts on seeing this?”
Looking at the dates written on it, Wooyeon smiled brightly. This person is a real motherfucker… The front door to the cafe let out a jingle. Wooyeon’s eyes, which had been pouring swear words at the reporter, shone. He called out the new manager’s name in an exhilarating voice. “Oh, is that you, Eunseo!”
“…!” Eunseo stopped in her tracks and opened her eyes in surprise like a cat on fire.
“Excuse me a moment.”
“Oh, of course,” Wooyeon said to the reporter. He got up and made his way to the manager. “Hey, Eunseo. I heard you worked nearby, are you on a coffee break?” He casually placed a hand on Eunseo’s back.
On a surface level, Wooyeon always treated his managers with respect. However, there was a difference between being polite and being casual. Eunseo could not help but be astonished at the scene where Wooyeon called her by her name so friendly like this.
“Let me buy you one, what would you like?”
A cold sweat ran down her neck. She pretended to look at the menu and muttered “uh, okay.” After sensing Wooyeon’s atmosphere was unusual through the window, she entered the shop just in case. She didn’t expect to be got caught up in an absurd situation like this.
Wooyeon made direct eye contact with her hoping she was on the same page as him, “get anything. Whatever you want.”
Eunseo accurately noticed the meaning hidden in Wooyeon’s words. It was a threat masquerading as kindness. Don’t worry, just choose anything.
“O-one americano, please. Hot.”
When Eunseo placed an order, Wooyeon took out a card from his wallet and handed it to the clerk. The clerk glanced at Wooyeon’s face and took the card. “Please sign on the card reader.”
Wooyeon smiled and picked up the pen. At that moment, Eunseo saw Wooyeon’s fingertips pointing to the terminal. Instead of writing his signature on the reader, he wrote a short phrase.
“Enjoy yourself, Eunseo.” Wooyeon smiled at her brightly.
“You as well.”
Wooyeon went back to his seat and sat down. Eunseo took the coffee handed to her by the clerk and went outside.
“Who was that?”
“Someone I know. I heard that she worked nearby, so it was a happy coincidence. Sorry, where were we?”
“We were talking about your managers.”
“Oh right. Well, the truth of it is-” Reporter Kim Haeshin swallowed her saliva and waited for Wooyeon’s next words until Wooyeon’s cell phone, which was placed on the table, rang with the name manager on the screen.
“One second, excuse me.” Wooyeon asked for forgiveness and answered the phone call. It wasn’t long before Wooyeon’s expression hardened. “Yes, I see...”
He sprung up from his seat and politely bowed his head and apologized to the reporter. “Haa... You’ll have to forgive me. Something came up and I’ve got to head back right now.
“What happened?”
“I just got word that a friend’s father passed away. I’ve met his father several times because he was like my older brother…” The corners of his eyes, which had blurred the end of his words, were wet with sadness. Reporter Kim Haeshin, who saw it, had to say without realizing it, go quickly. Wooyeon picked up his clothes. “Then I will see you next time. Please make an appointment through the office.”
Wooyeon politely said goodbye and left the store.
“I’m sorry I spoke too casually.”
“Hmm? Don’t worry about it, I started it.”
“Alright...”
As soon as he got into the car, Wooyeon looked at the manager who apologized, with curiosity.
“You really saved me, she had me with my back against the wall. But how did you know?”
“Know what?”
“That I was in bad shape. You were outside.”
“I just…” In order to know Wooyeon better, Eunseo has watched him countless time and memorized his expressions. So, on the patio, Eunseo noticed the tension coming from Wooyeon and went inside to observe what was going on directly. It wasn’t her intention to save him, but after seeing what Wooyeon wrote on the reader, she had no choice but to follow his instructions. ‘Call me.’ Eunseo went out of the store and called as soon as she turned the corner. As she expected, after a short while, Wooyeon walked out of the stop. But how can Eunseo possibly explain that to him. “...went inside to get some syrup since the coffee was bitter.”
“So, by coincidence...?” Eunseo raised her head. Wooyeon looked at her and gave her a friendly look. “Haha, well even if it was a coincidence, it was a happy one.” His voice was so sweet, it sounded as gentle as an angel. Eunseo quickly turned her head. Wooyeon looked at the manager acting like a school girl with interest.
“So shall I drive you home?” Eunseo asked as she started the engine. Wooyeon, who had been pensive for a moment, tapped her shoulder and asked.
“Hey Eunseo, are you free tonight?”
As soon as Wooyeon entered the restaurant, people’s eyes were all on him, so he naturally requested a private room. They walked through the venue, guided by the waiter. Eunseo, who was mulling over suddenly having a meal with him, quietly followed. After choosing something recommended by Wooyeon, Eunseo sat quietly, fiddling with a glass of water.
“How is your job as a manager so far?”
“…Fine.” Although the tone was soft, Eunseo was nervous and waited for Wooyeon’s next words.
“Do you find anything difficult?”
“No, not at all.”
“Do you like sports? When I looked at your resume, it said one of your hobbies was soccer.”
“Yeah, just a little…” Soccer was a hobby she wrote down on purpose to seem like a typical Korean citizen. She broke out in a cold sweat. Why was he doing this? Why? Wooyeon was not interested in other people so she did not understand why he was paying attention to her resume, and ask about such a trivial thing.
“What made you decide to be a manager?”
“Excuse me?” Eunseo felt like she was gradually falling into a labyrinth. She could not figure out why Wooyeon suddenly brought her to a high-end restaurant and interrogated her. While working next to Wooyeon, she found herself thinking up tens of thousands of situations in his head, but he never dared to imagine such a thing.
“Did you do it cause you’re my fan? Is that why you decided to pretty much switch career paths?”
Calm... calm down. Wooyeon doesn’t know anything. Eunseo was very hesitant at the tone that seemed to question her somehow. “I’ve always been interested in this field. An acquaintance recommended JN Entertainment, so I submitted my resume.” She slowly told him the motivation for enter the company that she memorized well.
“Are you planning on staying on for a while?”
“… Yes, if possible.” She already knew that Wooyeon changed his manager often. It was information that could be found easily with a little research. She only had three months to observe him this closely, Eunseo was quietly going to leave Korea after that. She had to be careful and quietly stay next to him so that Wooyeon could not remember whether Eunseo existed or not.
“You seem like a good fit for me.” Wooyeon continued talking while drinking the wine the waiter poured. “You’ve adapted well to the job You’re observant and loyal... You possess every good quality possible.”
“Pardon?”
“Or so the boss says.”
“Oh, I see…” Eunseo sighed. She thought her heart would sink when she thought Wooyeon was saying he liked her as a manager. She had to keep the middle ground. Be with him for as long as possible, walk a tightrope as a manager without making any memorable impression. She made up her mind and lifted her head. However, she did not make eye contact with Wooyeon.
“Eunseo, how old are you again?”
“…I’m Twenty-six.”
“You look a whole lot younger.”
“I-I’ve heard that a lot.” Eunseo was uncomfortable with this kind of setting. It was the most unwanted of all the scenarios she had played out in her head countless times; to have random, personal encounters or private conversations. In fact, Eunseo was 24 years old. The 26-year-old Eunseo was the identity she paid for. Even though she knew Wooyeon had said these words without much thought, she felt like her heart would burst. She drank cold water to calm her heart.
Wooyeon, who had been thinking for a moment, tried to open his mouth, but the waiter came in with the food. Without a doubt, the food looked expensive. Eunseo picked up a fork, thinking about why Wooyeon would buy such expensive meal for her, the manager.
“Eunseo.”
“Yes?”
Without realizing it, she raised her head and met his eyes. Wooyeon was smiling. It was the same face he had seen countless times on the screen and in photos.
“I mean.” Eunseo stared blankly as Wooyeon was elegantly slicing a steak with a knife in one hand. His actions had a charm that drew attention. Drinking water, making gestures, and holding a knife, such detailed actions were beautiful enough to make the other person stop breathing for a moment and look at him.
“Actually, someone told me-” Wooyeon stopped in the middle of his sentence.
“…?”
“Excuse me,” Wooyeon called the waiter. To the waiter who asked what the problem was, he asked what the name of the chef who made this dish was. When the waiter, who had been nervous for a while, bowed and answered, Wooyeon stood up.
“Is there a problem?”
“Not at all, excuse me for a moment, he said and exited the room. Eunseo, who was left alone, hesitated for a moment and got up. When she opened the door and looked outside, she saw no one in the hallway. She quickly went to Wooyeon’s seat and started looking at the cell phone he had left behind. Unfortunately, the phone was locked. She recalled Wooyeon pressing the password on the front door and quickly put in the four-digit number.
After some trial and error, the lock setting was released. Eunseo’s hands trembled. Last time she picked up Wooyeon’s cell phone in the car, she just gave it back and regretted the wasted opportunity.
First, let’s look at the call list.
“…Sheesh.” Looking at the call list, Eunseo clicked her tongue low. Wooyeon’s phone was completely erased, leaving only a list of calls made to her, CEO Kim, Mr. Cha, and other business calls as well as the phone book.
He looked through the photos just in case, but there was nothing.
“… ” Eunseo grumbled and looked around some more but couldn’t find any information. She put the phone back in its place. She returned to her seat and sat down, but Wooyeon did not return.
“Why isn’t he coming back? Where did he go?” Eunseo remembered the moment he suddenly called the waiter and dipped the steak on Wooyeon’s plate and tasted it.
“Ugh, heck.” It was as if the steak was marinated in salt and grilled, she drank water, thinking that it would wash down the saltiness. She rubbed her tongue with a napkin, but still felt a tingling sensation from the intense salty taste. Wooyeon being able to quietly find the chef without grimacing even after eating this was something to respect.
Eunseo quietly went outside with her phone in hand. It may be a golden opportunity to get a lucky shot. She came out to the hallway and moved cautiously to find Wooyeon. Seeing the waiter who was serving earlier, she asked in a low voice where Wooyeon had gone.
The waiter pointed to the door next to the kitchen and disappeared. It was an emergency exit.
Her heart was pounding. Eunseo pressed the area near her heart with her palm as she moved to the door. She carefully grabbed the doorknob and opened the door.
At first, she found no one, so she left with disappointment and tried to close the door. It was at that moment she could hear whispers coming from a woman.
“…!”
Eunseo grabbed the doorknob and listened to the sound. Behind the woman’s laughter, Wooyeon’s voice was occasionally heard. At the bottom of the stairs, a woman in a white chef outfit along with Wooyeon were seen talking face-to-face. Rather than get angry at the chef who fed him the salted steak, he seemed to be having a secret meeting with her.
Eunseo stood close to the door and overheard their conversation.
“Haha, so that’s why you sent me an over-salted steak?”
“That’s right. Since you came all the way here but didn’t even say hello before going to a private room with a woman. It never occurred to me that you’d come with your manager. I didn’t look at her properly,” she laughed. The comment stung Eunseo a little bit.
“Haha, sorry about that. I was planning to say hello later since I came with my manager.”
“Liar. You didn’t give me a second thought, did you?” She looked up at him with seductive eyes.
“Don’t be silly.” The woman’s laughed at the sweet nothings he was whispering in her ear. Eunseo sighed. She knew Wooyeon had this kind of relationship with several women, so this scene wasn’t that shocking. As she followed him, she has seen several encounters like this, but this was not the kind of opportunity shot she was looking for.
“… just in case.” She took a picture showing Wooyeon and the chef in an undeniably steamy situation.
Tumblr media
After taking the picture, she closed the door as carefully as when she opened it. Eunseo, who was walking down the hallway, took a deep breath as she checked the photos on her phone. What am I doing here...?
She takes pictures and collects information about Wooyeon. Not a single soul on Earth other than her own knows about this. From hind sight, if someone were to witness what Eunseo is doing, they would think she is just an obsessive fan who managed to trick her way into becoming his manager. Her actions fueled by her genuinely liking Wooyeon. On the contrary...
She hated Wooyeon so much…
She put her phone in her bag and went into the bathroom. She wanted to wash her hands. They felt dirty whenever she would snoop around like this. The faucet was deliberately turned to the blue end. She put her hands under the cold water and lathered the soap. Her fingers tingled as if they were about to freeze, but she meticulously lathered her hands and washed it off. When the sensation disappeared and even the feeling of coldness disappeared, she put her cold hand to her cheek.
She felt the cool sensation on her cheek and the warmth on her hand which made her cells tingle at the same time. Each time it reminded her she was alive. Her fingertips and cheeks became pale. She looked at herself in the mirror. The fat, freckled, speechless, always frightened young self was staring back at her. It looked at her with a scolding look asking her what the hell she was doing here.
She shook her head and looked in the mirror again. Her frightened eyes remained the same, but the girl had grown a lot more. “You have to be strong. For Jenny.”
When the name Jenny came out of her mouth, her heart throbbed as if by habit. In the remaining two months or so, she must somehow dig into Wooyeon’s true identity and obtain evidence. She knew Lee Wooyeon. Not the one that everyone loves, but the other Wooyeon. The one rotten to the core. She has to expose the terrible person hidden behind that sweet facade. Because she made a promise.
However, there was no evidence to prove Wooyeon’s true identity. In order to obtain the evidence, she followed him for a long time and collected data. Like a stalker, she collected and collected anything about Wooyeon. However, the only downside she could find in him was that she had an affinity with women. That was not enough.
When Eunseo left the restroom, she was heading back to the private room.
“Eunseo.”
“… !” Eunseo was startled by the sudden voice and turned around. Wooyeon, who was suddenly in front of her, walked towards her. With each step closer, she felt herself getting smaller. Her heart was beating so fast. Her paranoia was getting the best of her as the negative thoughts swarmed in her head landing on the worst-case scenario. Was this place prepared today as a ploy by Wooyeon, who actually knew everything?
“Sorry.”
“...”
“I made you wait. Go and have dinner.” His expression was the same as usual. She breathed a sigh of relief inwardly. “You don’t have to drive me home today. I’ll go by myself.”
“All right.” Naturally she understood what Wooyeon’s conversation was with the woman on the stairs. If possible, taking a sex video and uploading it would be one way to achieve her goal. Just thinking about such a scene made her feel guilty. Her face grew warmer at the thought.
“Are you not feeling well?”
“Sorry?”
“Your expression.” Eunseo didn’t realize she was making one and placed both hands to her cheek.
“I’m fine. It’s nothing.”
“That’s fortunate.” Eunseo quickly pulled out a handkerchief from her bag. She grabbed the hem of Wooyeon’s jacket as he was about to leave. “Yes?”
“Just a second… look down.” At the manager’s request, Wooyeon bowed his head slightly. Eunseo wiped the area around his lips with a handkerchief. Although it was excessively kind, Eunseo said to herself that it was an act that a manager should do.
“Because there was lipstick on… It’s gone now.”
“Eunseo, you’re very kind...” In Wooyeon’s voice, there was a bitter smile. “…thank you.” If she could, she would slap Wooyeon in the face right now and swear at him. She just wanted to tell him that a bastard like him should go to hell. But she only let out a sigh as she made her way back to the room.

Historia De Un Amor: Chapter 4
Even as she took off her shoes, Eunseo was frozen like a student who had just been scolded and did not know what to do. After hearing Wooyeon’s words to take a shower and change clothes at his house, Eunseo turned white on the spot. Seeing that she did not refuse even though she was bewildered, Wooyeon thought that the manager must be his big fan.
After showering in the main bathroom, Wooyeon poured coffee as her clothes were drying. He waited for Eunseo to come out of the bathroom attached to the guest bedroom. It wasn’t in his nature to give his bathroom to a manager, but it was a decision he made on the spot. When returning home, leaving Eunseo like that was not the way of the beloved actor Lee Wooyeon.
When Eunseo’s clothes finished drying, Lee Wooyeon went to leave it outside the bathroom. He knocked on the door where he could practically hear her flinch. “I’ve placed your clothes right outside.”
“...Thank you.” Eunseo said with her eyes shut tightly. She sighed, how did I end up here... She could not believe the situation she was in. Who knew she’d be showering at Lee Wooyeon’s place. I better wash up quick and head home.
Entering the guest room with just a towel she began to change. She took a moment to smell her button down that no longer smelled like coffee, but of Lee Wooyeon. She was almost done changing, only leaving her shirt last to smell it one last time before it’s corrupted by her own scent. As she was about to button her shirt, the object she put the towel over tumbled over causing everything on Wooyeon’s dresser knock over.
Wooyeon, who was already becoming impatient over how long the manager was taking, entered the room without hesitation at the sound of the ruckus. He opened the door to find Eunseo bent forward picking up an object with her dress shirt wide open giving him a full view of her cleavage being held up by her bra. She quickly covered herself by closing her shirt as he quickly closed the door and yelled a “sorry.”
It took Eunseo a while to gain the courage to leave the room. She found Wooyeon in casual clothes sitting on the couch. He didn’t see anything. I covered myself so fast he didn’t see anything. Her face was red from embarrassment because of what just happened.
Wooyeon got up and made his way to his manager. “Sorry. I opened the door without thinking...”
“No. I’m fine…” Her hair was still damp from the shower, her face turned redder after Wooyeon’s apology and it looked like he kept talking about it, she might cry. Eunseo’s shoulders were becoming more wet from her hair, Wooyeon brought a towel and held it out.
“Here.”
“Ah. Sorry.” Eunseo took the towel and started wiping the trail she left. Wooyeon could not continue to speak looking at the absurdity.
“…No, I was telling you to dry your hair.”
“Oh,” Eunseo’s face turned red even more. At this point, Wooyeon thought that it would be difficult to tell whether a person is a fool or a good person. He took out another new towel and handed it to Eunseo. There was no conversation between the two of them.
Wooyeon was not in a good mood because of the events that happened today, so he was not in the mood to pretend to be kind and considerate, and Eunseo was embarrassed and didn’t know what to say. Eunseo, who thoroughly wiped the moisture from her hair while standing, spoke first.
“I should go, thank you for your kindness.”
“Yes. Today, somehow... I feel like I’m just causing trouble.”
“No-” Eunseo blushed.
“Forget what happened today.” Eunseo wasn’t so tactless that she didn’t know exactly what he was saying.
“Yes. I will.”
“Don’t even tell CEO Kim. He must have a lot of work, so I don’t want to worry him for nothing.” If CEO Kim knew about this, it was clear that he would run with foam in his mouth accusing Wooyeon of sexual harassment. Just imagining it was terrifying. Wooyeon was a representative actor of JN Entertainment. It doesn’t matter if it was a small scandal, no matter how selfish a person he was, to decorate the front page of a daily newspaper with something like this, he’d never let it happen.
“Yes. All right,” like a gentle dog that listens well, Eunseo nodded and answered. Wooyeon didn’t like people who blabbed his business to others.
“… pack it up fast and leave.”
“Excuse me?”
“No. May I call you a taxi?” It may have sounded like friendly consideration, but it was a clear message. Eunseo waved her hands saying it was okay, packed her belongings and went outside. “...you’re too quick.”
The more he thought about it, the more he could customize her to be an ideal manager for himself. It was almost impossible to find someone who was quiet, devoted, quick-witted, and had a tight lip and was sincere. Yes, it would be three months, but he thought he could handle it well in the meantime.
Where did they find someone like this...
“What’s this? What are you doing coming all the way to the office?” Seeing Wooyeon sitting on the sofa of his office, CEO Kim Hakseung frowned as if he saw something he couldn’t believe.
“Can’t I stop by to say hello?”
“Hmm, what are you looking at?”
“I’m looking at Choi Eunseo’s resume.”
“What? Why?” CEO Kim’s face turned bright red, “what are you planning to do to her?!”
“Haha, whatever do you mean? People will get the wrong idea if they overhear you, sir.”
“Alright, then tell me why are you looking at her resume.”
“Well, it’s only natural to be curious about her since she’s working with me.”
“Don’t say things like ‘it’s only natural for me’! Have you ever looked at your managers’ resumes before?!”
“So, does that mean I can’t?” Wooyeon laughed as he continued analyzing the pages in front of him.
“Why? What’s the problem?”
Wooyeon sighed, “ha... there’s no problem.”
“Then what?”
Tumblr media
The new manager was surprisingly quick to adapt. As if to prove she really is a fan, she doesn’t do anything that will annoy him. She prepares his favorite food every morning and often listens to music that suits his taste. He usually drinks black coffee, but she also knew that he liked lattes when it rained. She’s got a good eye and always picks outfits that suit him. On top of that, she catches on quick whenever he’s in a bad mood and knows when to back off. She’s perfect.
She’s so perfect it pisses me off... In Wooyeon’s mind, while thinking such a thought, the body of Eunseo he saw the other day came to mind. The scar left on Eunseo’s chest was clearly visible that day. Even after seeing it, Wooyeon didn’t ask anything. What kind of past does the gentle-faced manager have? She was perfect. It was so perfect that it didn’t feel good.
“There’s nothing wrong with Eunseo,” the CEO mutters as he has a seat across from Wooyeon.
“So it seems, according to her resume.” Wooyeon looked at a headshot picture of said manager, “don’t you think it’s a waste for her to just be a manager?”
“Blame it on the job market. There are guys who take jobs here to learn the business and set up management companies when they leave.”
“Does Eunseo seem like that type of person?”
“Hmm, not really, but she’s still pretty damn good. How’s she doing? Is she working hard?”
“Yeah, she is.”
“Great. Make good use of her. She seems like a good kid,” CEO Kim said as he ruffled through his belongings and pulled out a few packets of paper. “And while you’re here take a look at these scripts, will ya?”
“Scripts?” The CEO walks towards Wooyeon to hand him the papers. “Aren’t you the one who picks the scripts?”
“A couple of good projects came in, so tell me which one you’d like to do.”
“A villain,” Wooyeon smirked as he started flipping through the pages. “My image will get stale if I keep playing good guys... What about this one? The serial killer. It looks fun.” The CEO’s face turned pale as the image of Lee Wooyeon holding a weapon, covered in blood with a smile on his face appeared in his mind. “...or how about the psycho killer crazy in love.”
“...no... way.” The CEO sighed, “if you do those roles, you’ll only get asked to play more murderers and you’ll lose all your commercials. You’ll only be too good at them.” CEO Kim muttered the last bit.
“Don’t be silly, sir. Do I look like a killer?” Lee Wooyeon said with a warm and inviting smile.
“Forget about it. Stop talking nonsense and pick one of these!” The CEO slammed one of the scripts on the table.
“This one looks good,” Wooyeon pointed to the script that was just abused by the CEO. A Mountain Fable “The producer’s good. The writer’s good. And the response will probably be good since it’s a period drama.”
“Right!” The CEO smiled brightly, “that was what I was thinking too! I heard the writer wanted to send it to you first.”
“Pfft, you believe that sweet talk? You’re surprisingly naive.”
“It’s the truth, you rascal!” Wooyeon got up from his seat and headed for the exit. “You’re suspicious of anything anyone say.”
“Don’t be silly,” the actor smiled at the CEO, “the let’s do this one. It’s fine by me.”
The CEO sighed, ‘okay, fine. I’ll call them.”
“Thank you,” as Wooyeon opened the door, the CEO noticed something.
“Hey, you! Why are you taking that?”
“I’m going to look it over.”
“Don’t do that. You’re scaring me... If you’re going to fire her... I mean, please don’t fire her.”
Wooyeon sighed and scowled at the older man, “I told you, I never fired anyone.” Wooyeon quietly closed the door behind him.
With those words, Wooyeon finally said goodbye and left. The manager, who was quietly organizing papers alone in the corner, opened his mouth.
“That’s right. He never fired anyone. You know everything.”
“Who doesn’t know? Anyway, Mr. Cha, monitor Wooyeon as well so that he can’t play tricks this time. Help Eunseo out, okay?”
“Yes. I’ll do that.” Mr. Cha knows the danger Lee Wooyeon poses just as much as the CEO does. The day after learning about Wooyeon’s dirty personality, CEO Kim Hakseung called the Mr. Cha and said that he should take the role of Wooyeon’s manager. Mr. Cha nodded obediently. It was because he thought terrible things would happen if his true nature was revealed. However, within a month, it was the manager who was going through terrible things. Wooyeon, who did not need to hide himself in front of Mr. Cha, showed off his personality as it is, and eventually the manager collapsed from all the stress. From that day on, Mr. Cha declared that he would never take on Lee Wooyeon’s managerial job.
“If I become Wooyeon’s manager again, I’ll deteriorate to a state that is no longer human. Anyways, the moment I become his manager officially, will be the day I hold a press conference and reveal the truth, so please take care of me.”
“I won’t, I won’t.” CEO Kim looked in the mirror, trimmed his messy hair, and muttered to himself. “Sheesh. Is there no human in the world who can accept all of Wooyeon’s qualities? Damn it.” The manager shouted as he aggressively put down the documents he was holding on the desk aloud.
“If there’s such a crazy punk like that in the world, I’ll call him ‘hyung’ and follow him forever!”
Suddenly, a good and capable new manager, Eunseo, came to his mind. “It would be nice, but …It can’t be.” The CEO shook his head, pushing the thought that had just occurred to him in his head.

Historia De Un Amor: Chapter 3
When the doorbell rang, Wooyeon pulled a pillow and covered his ears. The constant sound of the doorbell continued.
“Fuck,” Wooyeon threw the pillow and got up from the bed. Today was a day without a schedule, so he read a book until late and fell asleep. In short, it meant that no one has been given the right to wake him up this early.
He opened the front door without asking who it was. The new manager who was about to ring the doorbell again stood still and looked at Wooyeon.
“…What’s up?”
Tumblr media
Wooyeon asked in an annoyed voice. Eunseo stuttered and answered.
“Well... There’s been a change in the schedule... They called to say that tomorrow’s shoot has moved to this morning.”
“…” Wooyeon couldn’t hide the faint annoyance that appeared on his face. It was not uncommon for filming schedules to change. But at the very least, shouldn’t they warn in advance?
“I-I’m sorry,” Eunseo bowed her head.
“No. It’s not your fault, don’t worry about it.” Wooyeon immediately put on the mask of a good person and responded. He said “come in,” and as he stepped to the side and grabbed a pair of slippers from a nearby closet, Eunseo flinched and looked around.
“Are you going to stay outside until I get ready?” She looked at him before carefully entering his apartment.
“Take a seat. Would you like something to drink?” Wooyeon made his way to the kitchen.
“No, thank you. I’ll just wait.” Wooyeon thought Eunseo didn’t seem like the type of person to work this type of job. In order to be a manager, sincerity was important, but shamelessness was an essential element. Taking water out of the refrigerator, Wooyeon turned around and found Eunseo sitting on the sofa, with both hands on her knees, very nervous.
How is he going to work with such a personality? Well, it doesn’t matter. Wooyeon went into the bathroom to take a shower.
As the bathroom door was closed, Eunseo was left alone. She began to observe the living room. He’s so tidy... The modern and neat interior that shows Wooyeon’s taste caught her attention. It was so clean that it almost felt no one lived here. The only parts that had some types of clutter were the bedroom without sheets and books on the table.
Eunseo got up from her seat and went over to quickly scan the titles he was reading with her eyes. She had a good memory, so she was able to memorize all the titles of the book by reading it once. However, Eunseo took out her cell phone from her pocket to make sure she looks them up later. She even downloaded a program so her phone wouldn’t make a sound when taking a picture. She had to record everything about Wooyeon. She had to learn everything about him.
She took a picture of the sofa first. He’ll sit here and watch TV or listen to music. Then there was the CDs. As if to prove to his guests that listening to music was a hobby, the cabinet was packed with CDs. While Eunseo was taking photos of the CD catalog, Wooyeon came out of the bathroom after taking a shower.
“What are you doing?” Eunseo flinched as the anxiety at the pit of her stomach rose.
“Ah, I…” Wooyeon was wearing a bathrobe, but Eunseo did not dare raise her head. Her heart was pounding like someone backed into a corner.
“You’re welcome to borrow anything that catches your eye.” Having said that, Wooyeon went into his room. Eunseo’s legs were shaking, so she went back to the sofa and sat down.
It was still hard to believe that the two of them were alone in such a close space. Being in his apartment where he spends his private life, Eunseo felt rewarded for the efforts she had put in to stand here right now.
Wooyeon came out fully clothed causing Eunseo to jump up from her seat. I need to relax, I’m too much on edge. She carefully looked up at Wooyeon and noticed his messily hair. His roots were dried, but the tips were still wet. She took in this appearance of him she hasn’t seen yet.
“Should we go?” The question brought Eunseo back to reality and she looked away. As they made their way to the elevator, Wooyeon thought about how he disliked being close to people. He quickly cut off the managers who were arrogant and sarcastic as if they could do anything. Even in the elevator, Eunseo was standing at a distance, blankly staring at the wall without making eye contact. Wooyeon thought that his new manager saying she’s a fan was something that was just said out of courtesy, but after observing her behavior, that might not be the case.
When they arrived to the parking lot, Eunseo told him to wait and quickly brought the car around. When he opened the car door, Wooyeon entered to see bread and coffee laid out for him. If it was sweet coffee with whipped cream or milk, he had specifications, but it was an Americano. The bread was also white ciabatta from his favorite bakery.
“I thought you wouldn’t be able to eat breakfast, so I prepared it.”
“Thank you. Did you have breakfast yet?”
“Yes, I did,” Eunseo answered as she started to their destination. Wooyeon hated the smell of other people’s food in the car. While eating the ciabatta, Wooyeon remembered CEO Kim’s words that this manager would never quit. It seems that this time he really took a lot of consideration about it and chose her. The smallest part of Wooyeon’s conscious felt a little sorry for the CEO who put a lot of effort into choosing someone who will also be quitting soon. As he drank the slightly cold coffee, he looked at Eunseo’s back.
“I’ve made a reservation at the salon and with the help of Mr. Cha, I picked out a few outfits.”
“Thank you,” Wooyeon said with a smile as he looked at the back of her head. She not only prompt and proactive, but was also meticulous in her work. As soon as he spoke, Eunseo’s ear went red, and Wooyeon noticed. He recalled that the new manager was a big fan of his. Was it just a courtesy? Was it true? Suddenly curious, he asked a question. “Hey Eunseo... is it true?”
"Excuse me?” At the red light, the car stopped. Eunseo asked, making eye contact from the rearview mirror. “I’m not sure what you’re referring to...”
“I heard that you’re my fan.”
“…Yes, I am a fan.” Seeing the strength in the hand holding the wheel, Wooyeon smiled. It seemed to be true.
“Haha, what do you think now that you’ve seen me in person? Lots of time people are disappointed when they see celebrities in real life.”
“No, not at all,” Eunseo responded in a hurried tone. “In fact, you’re even more...”
“Even more?” Wooyeon smiled and waited for Eunseo to say the next thing.
“...Cooler in person.”
“Thank you.”
“I’m not just saying this out of courtesy. Really…” Horns blared from behind. Suddenly, the signal turned green. Eunseo turned her body forward and muttered in an awkward voice.
Wooyeon smirked from behind and waved his hand, saying, “I understand.” Eunseo kept her mouth shut as she concentrated on driving again. Wooyeon didn’t like socializing, especially in the morning. A talkative manager was also number one on the kill list. In many ways, the new manager was someone he could be on good terms with.
When they arrived at the hair salon, Eunseo dropped off Wooyeon first. She then left to park the car and said she would come later. Upon entering the shop, the shop’s manager recognized Wooyeon and ran to him with a friendly face.
“Are you filming today?”
“Yes. All of a sudden, my schedule was pushed forward, please take care of me.” His polite way of speaking brightened the facial expressions of not only the hair dressers but the whole staff. Among the many celebrities who came and went here, Wooyeon’s manners were by far the best. It was common for people to become arrogant and have a stiff attitude when they became more popular, but Wooyeon was not like that. Wooyeon was constantly praised for his gentle and polite attitude. Despite the rumors that his relationship with women was a bit complicated, the image about him was good enough that his reputation wasn’t affected.
“It looks like your manager is new.” The shop’s manager, who was touching his hair, asked. When Wooyeon answered yes with his eyes, the manager continued to talk. “Oddly enough, Mr. Wooyeon’s managers change often. To be honest, if it’s like that, doesn’t that mean Wooyeon has a bad personality?”
Wooyeon smiled looking at the mirror. He heard the door open and Eunseo entered.
“Is that the new manager?”
“Yes.”
“A woman?”
“I think she’s a good person.” Eunseo quietly sat on the sofa in the corner of the store and started reading the book she brought. Seeing Eunseo bowing her head to the staff, the hair dresser continued.
“What kind of person do you like, Mr. Wooyeon?”
“Excuse me?”
“What kind of person do you like to work with?” Wooyeon pretended to be thinking because he already knew his answer.
“A manager like Helen Keller.”
“What? Helen Keller?” When the director asked surprised, Wooyeon laughed.
“It’s a joke.” When the hair and makeup was finished, Eunseo jumped up from her seat first.
“I will prepare the car.” A few staff members giggled as they watched her disappear before he could answer.
“Did she go to manager boot camp or something?”
“She’s cute,” one of the staff members said with a smile. Wooyeon, who had never associated the word cute with a woman with her appearance, stood up thinking.
“Is that so?” When he went down the front stairs, Eunseo was already parked in front, waiting. While moving to the filming set, she did not open his mouth until Wooyeon spoke to her.
Looking at the manager moving quietly as if she was not there, Wooyeon thought that this was the reason why CEO Kim was so proud. If he had to grade her so far, her score would be 100%. However, the problem was Wooyeon himself. No matter who the other person is, one day he will lose his temper. If they met at a reasonable distance, he could fake it forever, but it was difficult as they had to see each other every day.
The first to notice about Wooyeon’s personality was his family. So, it was only natural that he’s isolated from his family and hasn’t contacted them since.
“We’re here,” Eunseo, who had been silent for thirty minutes, finally opened her mouth and spoke.
Fans who found out about Wooyeon’s filming were lined up around the parking lot. Wooyeon was amazed. He found out this morning that the filming date had been changed, but what the hell is it about those women who go crazy over just a glimpse of him? He doesn’t know how the information leaked, but sometimes he got goosebumps.
Eunseo, who got put the driver’s seat, stood in front and secured a space for Wooyeon to walk. As he got out of the car, screams that seemed to tear the sky came from among the waiting women. Wooyeon started walking with a kind face without losing his composure among the women who rushed to him as if they were in heat.
“Oppa! Wooyeon oppa!”
“Aaaaah! Oppa!”
“Look over here, oppa! It’s me, Sumi! I’m here!” As soon as the name Sumi reached his ears, Wooyeon’s eyes flashed with irritation. That was because the owner of that memorable voice and name was a crazy woman who left behind an unpleasant feeling every time. “Oppa! Do you remember me?! Sumi, remember?!
Tumblr media
Wooyeon deliberately moved away from her without turning his head. Eunseo was in cold sweats as she stood in front of the influx of women. No matter how well she did her job, she was a beginner. When she was thrown naked among the extreme fans, she was stunned, not knowing what to do.
“Please stay away for a bit. Sorry. Thank you.” Whenever Wooyeon moved, Eunseo asked for forgiveness. She had a soft voice, so whenever she spoke, her words were buried in the screams of the women and couldn’t be heard, but she asked for forgiveness every time.
Watching the rare sight of the manager gradually being buried among the women, Wooyeon reached out and grabbed Eunseo’s shoulder. Because the manager clearly had a job to do on the set, he couldn’t wait for this person forever. The moment he pulled the manager out, a woman who was screaming with a shrill voice came running towards Wooyeon.
“Oppa, you’ve got to remember me! I’m Jin Sumi! Sumi!” Having said that, she swung the paper cup she was holding towards Wooyeon. A hot brown liquid was scattered in the air, which Eunseo blocked. She reflexively raised her hand to block it, causing the whole thing to spill all over her.
“Ahhhh! What are you doing?!”
“Are you crazy?! Are you a fucking lunatic?!” Criticism poured out from among the women around her. Eunseo, who was suddenly baptized with coffee, just stood there blankly. A woman named Sumi, who threw the coffee, cried out to Wooyeon to remember her.
There kinds of people exist. People who behave rudely or act strangely just to remain in the memory of their favorite celebrities. Her trying to pour coffee into his face made him want to break her wrist, but he tried to suppress his anger. Fuck, there’s a degree to how crazy one can be.
A crooked smile appeared on the corner of Wooyeon’s lips. The moment he reached out to grab the shoulder of the manager, Eunseo opened her mouth.
“Why behave this way?” Wooyeon was surprised to hear his shy manager publicly reprimanding someone while drenched. “Nothing good will come from making such a bad impression. It may feel good for a while... But in the end, it will only bring you pain.”
Wooyeon looked at the manager who was calming the crazy woman. He thought she was a person who couldn’t speak properly, but here she was. Sumi, who was holding the cup, cried and blushed. Eunseo nodded at Wooyeon to go in first.
Wooyeon turned his back with an expressionless face and walked into the filming set. Upon hearing the news, the cinematographer and staff flocked to him and asked if he was okay.
“Rather than me, I’m worried about my manager,” Wooyeon said and returned a friendly reply that he was okay. Of course, it was not true. If the coffee baptism had not been stopped, Eunseo would have set the shortest record of two days until dismissal.
Since it was a simple photo shoot, he was able to finish all the shoots in less than an hour. Eunseo did not appear until Wooyeon finished filming and quickly made her way outside as he thanked and said his goodbye to the staff. A few fans who had not yet left the filming set came up to Wooyeon and handed him a paper to sign, but he didn’t feel like it. In terms of temperament, he wanted to take that crazy bitch from a while ago and quietly take her in front of a lawyer. In fact, he knew that this episode was good for his own image, but he was upset at the audacity.
Wooyeon, who was thinking horrible thoughts behind his gentle face, saw the manager trembling in front of the car.
“…!” When their eyes met, Eunseo’s face became even more pale. In response to the incomprehensible reaction, Wooyeon wondered if it was true that she was a fan.
“Are you okay?” He wanted to ask a question another question, but that was all he could say. Wooyeon stood in front of the manager with a worried expression on his face.
“Sorry. Because of me.”
“Oh, no.” Even after getting coffee all over herself for Wooyeon, she looked as if she had sinned.
“Why are you standing here instead of waiting in the car?”
“… not dry yet, sorry.” Eunseo’s clothes were soaked in water, probably because she took off her top clothes and washed them. As soon as he saw the clothes still stained with coffee, he thought of the crazy woman who poured the coffee, and a faint anger flashed across Wooyeon’s face. “Sorry. I tried to remove it, but it didn’t go well… sorry.”
“Sorry?”
“I know you don’t like dirty clothes, I’m sorry Mr. Lee. If you wish, I will call a taxi for you right away. Otherwise, I will ask the Manager Cha to come here now.”
“Ms. Eunseo.”
“Yes?” It was a cold winter. A cold wind blew that made teeth tremble just by wearing wet clothes. That winter, the man with the warmest face spoke with a voice sweet, sweet enough that it could melt a cochlear implant.
“Never use ‘Mister’ when calling me, you can just call me oppa. Or since I’m older, you can call me oppa.”
“…Ah… I…”
“And don't bother apologizing over stuff like that. It makes me sorrier... Since it's my fault that you're in this situation.”
Eunseo barely answered with a bewildered face. “N-no. I… I only did what I had to do.”
“A manager only needs to help with my work, you're not a servant.”
“…”
When Wooyeon’s manager resigned for the ninth time, CEO Kim called Wooyeon with his face red, shouted and asked what kind of manager he wanted. Wooyeon responded with a bright smile like a flower at that time. Blind, deaf and a dumb slave, of course. Although he must be able to hear and speak and show up. At that time, CEO Kim’s expression was interesting, so Wooyeon giggled for a while, then said, “It’s a joke,” and passed it on.
“Geez, it’s cold. We should go.”
“Yes, all right.” At Wooyeon’s words, Eunseo took a deep breath. Wooyeon looked at the back of the new manager, who moved according to his words, as if it were interesting.

Historia De Un Amor: Chapter 2
Exhaling cigarette smoke, Mr. Cha was immersed in thought. He thought that Lee Wooyeon must have had something to do with his manager quitting after a few months. However, even as he resigned, the manager consistently said it was not Lee Wooyeon’s fault and he was too incompetent to work anymore.
Mr. Cha clicked his tongue. Wooyeon was someone who did things behind other people’s backs. The longest manager only lasted three months. The CEO warned him that changing managers too often doesn’t look good for the celebrity, but he only shrugged and said that he had done nothing. However, CEO Kim and Mr. Cha thought it was clear he did something out of sight, however they couldn't prove it.
Mr. Cha scratched his head as he remembered the words of CEO Kim saying he had hired someone who would never quit. What kind of person is he if he never quits?  When he heard this new manager’s voice however, he was surprised then skeptical to hear a female voice. Why would the CEO hire a woman to manage the womanizer, Wooyeon? She seemed to have a calm and kind personality from the voice alone. Did she have to sign a contract that said she couldn’t quit and she unwittingly signed it?
The cell phone rang. Mr. Cha quickly answered the phone, thinking the person who could satisfy his curiosity had finally appeared. “Hello, this is Mr. Cha… Yes? I beg your pardon? Where are you? I’m waiting by the van in front... Alright.”
Mr. Cha quickly ended the call. Whenever a manager quit, Mr. Cha would be given the stressful task of being Wooyeon’s acting manager until a replacement is hired. At the sound of someone coming from the distance, Mr. Cha caught the sight of a heavy-set woman looking around with her cell phone in her hand. Ah, I see...
“Excuse me. This way,” he gestured to the young lady who found the car. She hurriedly put her cell phone in her purse and walked over towards him.
“Nice to meet you. I’m-”
“Are you Choi Eunseo?” Mr. Cha interrupted the greeting that came out of her mouth. He knows it’s rude, but that’s how urgent he was. “Lee Wooyeon’s new manager?”
“Yes, but…”
“Take this,” the older man handed over the car keys and notebook then continued. “All you have to do today is greet Wooyeon and take him home. He’ll probably be out in thirty minutes. Wooyeon doesn’t have a schedule for tomorrow, so you can come to the office first thing. You don’t need anything special to take care of him, just an Americano. Some things to be aware of are here.” He holds up a small book, “you can see the details in this notebook.”
“Yes... Okay,” Eunseo nodded her head at the words that poured out the man.
“I have to go due to an emergency. Call me if anything happens. Do you know my phone number?”
“Yes.”
“Then see you later.” Mr. Cha, who was about to run, suddenly turned around and added a word. “Be careful.”
“Pardon?” She asked a bit confused, but then let out a gentle smile. “Of course.” Before hearing her answer, Mr. Cha hurriedly ran away. Eunseo, who was standing in front of the funeral home’s front door, stood for a long time holding the notebook and car key she was randomly handed over. Only after bumping shoulders with a passerby did Eunseo suddenly realize what the situation was in front of her. She placed her hand over her heart. “You have to calm down. This is only the beginning.”
She calmly took her phone out of her purse and took pictures of the car keys she was holding, followed by her notebook. The sound of the shutter rang quietly.
When he heard a new manager was coming, Wooyeon didn’t care in the slightest. They were going to quit in a few months anyway.
He was used to wearing a mask in front of people. He tended to think the job he chose was to wear a mask and his daily life was an extension of his job. However, due to the nature of the job, he needed a manager by his side practically all day and that definitely bothered him.
Most of all, he hated having to constantly see the same person every day for an extended period of time. He even gets tired of the women he pursues, typically limiting meeting up with the same one up to three times. Having to spend the day with the same person every day was unreasonable in nature. Unfortunately for him, he can’t just fire someone for no reason. In the end, Wooyeon picked on people without being obvious. He liked to call it ‘burning’ someone.
Burning them to a crisp from the inside. Making it impossible to recognize where the heat is coming from, Wooyeon burned people up. He would cause the manager to make mistakes by leaking the wrong schedule or by giving the wrong appointment time on purpose. With thorough and calculated actions, the manager would make mistakes over and over again. Each time, Wooyeon would encourage his manager, saying it was okay with a gentle and loving smile. More and more, the manager would busily try to make up for their mistakes. However, if several small mistakes are made and then one big one is made, the manager’s spirit is bound to die. Followed by Wooyeon personally calling on the manager, buying him a drink and talking to him in a friendly manner spewing empty sentiments. ‘I trust you. It's okay. Next time make sure this doesn’t happen. No matter what anyone says, I’m by your side. You are different from other people. I know. So please be patient. Of course, that must never happen again’.
It’s common knowledge that Wooyeon is the type of person to keep personal and business relationships separate. So, the manager who is overwhelmed with stress starts to feel touched over his generosity. After this encouragement, the manager feels fired up and full of enthusiasm with Wooyeon at his side with a smile. Feeling proud of being trusted by South Korea’s top celebrity. Things then seem to be going well which makes the manager feel better. A few days go by without a hitch and the manager thinks he’s getting used to the job, and the tone of his voice gets brighter. Wooyeon is waiting. Waiting for the moment when a person is drunk with joy and their body language slightly relaxes. Catching the moment when a person who used to be proud of himself collapse as soon as he realizes that he has made the same mistake again was priceless. So Wooyeon, who ends up being the victim of that mistake, makes a strange expression at this moment. A friendly smile that shows a bit of resentment, bitterness, and disappointment toward the other person, but still shows consideration. Some people stop there. People who are ignorant may hold on a bit longer, but in the end, they will raise a white flag saying that they can’t do it.
He doesn’t like having anyone by his side for a long time, but Wooyeon always enjoys the process of people falling apart. Human psychology is complex, but the process of manipulating it was simpler than expected. Changing managers frequently was not good for his image, but it was unavoidable. Because he enjoys the process of cutting people off. I just can’t stop.
“I beg your pardon?” A woman’s voice reached his ears. Wooyeon smiled and shook his head. It seems that he uttered the words in his heart without knowing it. “What are you doing tomorrow?” Leaving the funeral, a woman who was much younger than Wooyeon had come dressed in luxury clothes with her hair and makeup professionally done, asked with a young voice.
“I have a schedule for tomorrow.” Tomorrow was a very rare day with no schedule. He had no intention of missing such a golden vacation just for a woman like this.
“So, what about today, oppa? What are you doing tonight?” Wooyeon watched with pleasure as a woman in a black suit, who had been crying as if her best friend had died, 'accidentally’ ran into him and is now throwing seductive words.
“I don’t think it will be good today. You must also be heartbroken, so please rest at home.” Wooyeon looked over at the lady who had been waiting on him since a while ago. He looked back at Jo Yura, bowed and whispered, “sorry.” She nodded her head with a blank face.
“See you next time.” She blankly watched his back as he walked off.
“Nice to meet you.” When a soft, low voice spoke, the young lady standing in front of him straightened her posture and raised her head. From just a look, Wooyeon was able to roughly grasp the type of person she was. A kind, loyal, and uninteresting human being... and ugly. The new manager was Kim’s preference. He liked a good person who worked hard. It was the type that was the best prey for Wooyeon. But this time the CEO hired a woman, possibly in the hopes that Wooyeon would go easy with the antics and making her ugly so he wouldn't try anything.
He held out his hand. “I’m Lee Wooyeon, nice to meet you.”
“…” The new manager had a visibly hardened face and didn’t say anything. Sometimes people who see celebrities in front of them are so nervous that they can’t say anything. Wooyeon acts kinder and more courteous when that happens, relieving the opponent’s tension. That way it tastes better when burned later.
“It’s cold today, it must have been hard coming all this way. I'm sorry we had to meet on such an unhappy occasion.” Eunseo reached out her hand, when the warmth touched her frozen hand, she was startled. Her hand felt like it was on fire.
“I- I…”
“I’m Lee Wooyeon.” Giving strength to his hand, Wooyeon greeted her again.
“…I’m Choi Eunseo.” Maybe because of her shy personality, she had a hard time looking up at him. Wooyeon pulled away his hand first. Eunseo looked down at her hand blankly. She had a look on her face that she couldn’t believe the situation in front of her.
“Then, shall we?” Wooyeon opened the car door and spoke politely again.
“O-of course,’ Eunseo answered and went to the driver’s seat.
Sitting in the back seat, Wooyeon watched the new manager’s driving skills. Turning the steering wheel was pretty good. Having good driving skills was important for a manager since a big part of the job was transporting him to all of his schedules. There are also situations where people who recognize the car of a celebrity get excited and may do reckless things. If a fan were to get hurt in any way, then Wooyeon would be scrutinized whether it was his fault or not, and he can’t have that.
While observing, Wooyeon couldn’t find any mistakes. She was a safe and patient driver. She followed all the traffic laws perfectly. It was hard to find any gaps in the way she was driving, looking around the front and rear calmly. The calm pace of the car had Wooyeon closing his eyes as he sorted his thoughts. The manager, who was driving quietly, asked carefully if she could play music. He thought it was surprising. A person like her, who couldn’t even introduce herself properly, suddenly says she’s going to play music.
Wooyeon hated music that didn’t suit his taste. The reason behind the sixth manager’s quick exit was because he always played a female idol’s song loudly in the car. He used very tough methods to make him quit within two weeks. It was better to catch a taxi than to listen to music that he found annoying.
“Yes. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.” As soon as Wooyeon’s permission was granted, she puts the CD that she brought into the player. Wooyeon frowned slightly as he closed his eyes again. He was annoyed, expecting the music of an idol singer to start playing. It was dark in the car, so his expression couldn’t be seen. As the familiar music flowed, Wooyeon’s eyes slowly opened.
Historia de un Amor. The story of a love. It was his favorite song. There was no way the manager knew about it and played it, but it was a pleasant coincidence. Wooyeon closed his eyes again and listened to the song. Because of her good driving skills, even the shaking of the car felt good.
You’re no longer by my side, my love… Why did God make me love you… You were always the reason for my existence... Without your love I cannot live... He followed along to the lyrics in his head. At the end of the song, a quiet voice was heard.
“We’re here.” When he opened his eyes, it was an underground parking lot. Eunseo got out of the driver’s seat and opened the car door. In a friendly voice, Wooyeon said, “you don’t have to do this, but thank you.” After he closed the door behind him, he looked down at the manager, “you drive well.”
“…I practiced,” a cautious reply came back. Wooyeon laughed. Are there people who practice driving just to get into the manager’s position? Wooyeon turned his head to see the pathetic human’s face. Like a student being punished in the office, he carefully looked at the face of the woman standing with her hands in front of her. She had a round, chubby face that looked youthful mainly due to the freckles that were plastered on her skin. Looking at her restless expression probably due to the prolonged staring on Wooyeon’s part, he thought this one would be fun to burn in its own way. When their eyes met, the new manager turned her head.
“Thank you for getting me home safely,” Wooyeon bowed his head then turned around. Thoughts of the new manager soon disappeared from his mind; Wooyeon wasn’t the type to dwell on other people. Until Wooyeon disappeared into the elevator, Eunseo stood there and watched his back.
A familiar envelope caught Wooyeon’s attention as he looked through the mail he pulled out of the mailbox. Wooyeon’s real name was written on the off-white high-quality paper in neat handwriting. Phillip Levin. He carelessly opened the envelope. There was only one picture. A picture of himself in high school. On the back of the photo, a verse of Rilke’s poem written in neat handwriting. Wooyeon snorts and crumbles it in his pocket.
Ever since he came to Korea and became a celebrity, he has been receiving letters like this. Wooyeon, who typically never gets worked up over anything, felt a bit nervous when he first received the letters. He didn’t tell anyone about his origins and it always contained a photo of him from his high school days. Thinking it was a threat, he waited for the culprit to approach, but no one ever contacted him and it has been this way ever since.
Once a month. A picture with a poem on the back. That’s it. No demands or threats, just that. Wooyeon stopped searching for the identity of the sender about a year ago. He learned that the letter did no harm to him in any way. At first, when a letter arrived, he threw it in the trash or burned it without opening it, but these days he sometimes checked the contents inside.
“Rilke…” The woman in the elevator who heard Wooyeon’s murmur glanced back. Wooyeon showed a friendly smile to hide his stiff expression and bowed his head. A woman he had met in the elevator several times recognized Wooyeon and blushed. After the woman said hello and got off the elevator, Wooyeon returned to his original expressionless face.
The elevator arrived on the 49th floor. Wooyeon, out of habit, puts his hand in his pocket to find his phone and then pressed the elevator button again. He must have left it in the car. Even if he goes now, the manager probably left already, but just in case…
“…” The moment the elevator door opened in the underground parking lot, Wooyeon stopped in his tracks. Eunseo was standing in front of the elevator.
“You left your phone behind…” Seeing her holding out his cell phone with both hands like a person presenting precious treasures, Wooyeon was shocked.
“Thank you. But how did you did find it. It would have been in the back seat.”
“Ah yes, there…I was trying to clean the back seat…” Wooyeon reached out and took the phone. All he could think about was that the new manager’s needlessly clean personality made it easier for him in inconvenient times like this.
“Yes, well thank you. Then I’ll go in.” Wooyeon was no longer in the mood to talk to anyone. Fatigue piled up to the top of his head. Wearing a mask of a friendly face gradually came to a limit. After waving goodbye to the manager, Wooyeon got on the elevator again and went up.
As soon as he took off his shoes in front of the front door and stepped into the house, his phone rang. ‘CEO Kim’ flashed on his phone. He wondered if he should let it ring, but knowing the CEO’s personality, it was clear he would call until he answered. Wooyeon meekly pressed the answer button.
“Yes. CEO.”
“Isn’t there anything special that happened today?”
“...Nothing...” Wooyeon took off the jacket he was wearing and threw it on the sofa.
“How about the new kid?”
“Who? Ah, the manager.” The idea of the new manager was completely forgotten as he climbed the elevator. Wooyeon’s interest in other people was always at that level. “She seems like a sincere and good person.” Wooyeon wasn’t interested in a sincere and good manager, all he needed was a new manager every three months.
“Don’t say what you don't mean. How is she? Is she okay? Do you think she will work for a long time?”
“Well, whether she works for a long time or not is a matter of her own will.” Wooyeon sat down on the sofa, putting his fingers in the tie knot and untying it.
“Just leave her alone. I’m telling you, there’s a limit to how many I can hire.”
“Yes. I wish she could stay a long time.” Without changing the color of his face, Wooyeon told a blatant lie. He morbidly hated having someone by his side all the time. Moreover, no matter how talented Wooyeon is at hiding himself, sometimes his other personality peak through. The limit of hiding it is 3 months on the dot. It was around that time when the first manager gave off a disgusting smell and chewed squid in the car. He couldn’t stand it and spit out, “you’re a fucking pig.” When the surprised manager stopped the car and asked what was going on, he said he was practicing the script, but in that moment Wooyeon realized his limits had been reached. After that, every manager has been replaced within three months by any means.
“Hahaha. It will be long maybe.” The voice of CEO Kim, who was smiling over the phone, was unusual. Wooyeon asked why, briefly. “She’s your fan.”
“Okay?”
“She said she was a complete fan. She has seen every single piece of your work.” Wooyeon ignored CEO Kim’s words. When working with celebrities, he has seen countless people say such things in order to get something out of him or make a good impression.
“Good for me.”
“It will be in your best interest to not nitpick everything and treat her.” Wooyeon replied that he would do so and ended the call.
When he came out of the living room after showering, Wooyeon found that a text message had arrived. It was from the new manager.
‘Hello. This is Eunseo. I got your number from Mr. Cha. I will be waiting for you in the parking lot at 6 am the day after tomorrow. Have a good night.’ Wooyeon laughed. No matter what kind of person my new manager is...
“It’s only a matter of time.”

Historia De Un Amor: Chapter 1
“Are you out of your mind?! Are you?! What the hell were you thinking?!” CEO Kim Hakseung shouted as he threw today’s newspaper on the table.
The man was wearing a light brown suit with a dark blue button-down shirt decorated with a handkerchief in his pocket, making him look like a rich D&G model. Although he was close to forty, he did not look his age due to his well-maintained skin and muscular build highlighted even through his luxurious suit. He shouted violently, messing up his hair which he got fixed this morning at the hair salon in Cheongdam-dong, where non-members had to wait a month even if they made a reservation.
“How many times is this?! Huh?! The last time you almost got caught Mr. Cha barely managed to steer the reporters away! What did you say then?!”
“It will never happen again.” The man, who was leaning deeply against the dark brown sofa, replied with a smile. It was a smile as refreshing as the scent of a freshly peeled orange. The bright-colored hair made the man’s charm stand out more. “And I won’t get caught.” It sounded confident. As if everything in the world was in the palm of his hand.
“You won’t get caught?! Can’t you see this with your own eyes?!” CEO Kim Hakseung said, pointing to the article with the initials at the corner of page 16 of the entertainment page. It was about top star ‘S’ enjoying a secret date with a new actress inside a car.
“Who would read an article on page 16?”
“I would read it, that’s who!”
“CEO, you’re reading it because it’s your job. No one is reading that.” It wasn’t wrong, but CEO Kim Hakseung punched his chest. What he wanted to punch was actually the man sitting in front of him, but he only hit his heart repeatedly. The man sitting on the sofa looked down at the newspaper with an interested face as if he was reading another person’s scandal.
“How can a human being like that be the number one celebrity without any antis? Oh, my.” It sounded as if he didn’t like that fact.
“Then you should be the first anti-fan.” CEO Kim Hakseung’s fist trembled at the man’s words.
Lee Wooyeon, who started his career in the entertainment industry with an independent film a few years ago, was an actor who was on a winning streak without a single slump. For the first time, he received more spotlight than the main character in a drama where he played the supporting role, and was immediately cast as the main character in a film directed by Park Seong-Han, drawing public attention. After the movie was released, he did not expect his stock price to fall because his acting skills were excellent and had a unique almost strange charm that made it difficult to determine nationality and age.
Having won the Rookie of the Year award and the Best Actor award that year, he reached the top only a year after entering the entertainment industry. It was the law of the entertainment industry to have ups and downs, but this did not apply to Lee Wooyeon. Every drama he filmed exceeded 40% in viewer ratings. Every scenario he chose, hit the jackpot and the consumption effect of the advertisement he filmed made advertisers dance.
Tumblr media
There was also an editorial published in an economic journal that the products he advertises has received overwhelming support from consumers, especially female consumers, and that the brand Lee Wooyeon itself exists.
People liked Lee Wooyeon. Everyone liked his ingenuity, his rarely seen cute appearance, a beautiful smile that revealed his perfect teeth, excellent acting and singing skills, as well as praise from those who have worked with him at least once. Women especially loved his eyes. His eyes were loved greatly, with the deep futility of an old man who knew all of life’s history and an innocence that was not worthy of his age at the same time. Some of his fans say Lee Wooyeon’s eyes should be designated as a national treasure and that if he dies, he should preserve the organ by any means.
Opinions were divided on Lee Wooyeon’s life. Little was known about his background except for the fact that he was a graduate of Princeton University. Interesting hypotheses such as the grandson of a famous foreign company, the illegitimate son of a famous actress, etc. have been circulated, but nothing has been confirmed. It was surprising for CEO Kim Hakseung that even such a mystery acted as his charm.
However, it did not mean that Wooyeon had no shortcomings. He liked women. Although this scandal has been avoided, CEO Kim was still concerned it wouldn’t be long before he occupied the front page of a sports newspaper if he was always like this. Lee Wooyeon always acted in his own way whether he liked it or not.
“Please live carefully. What are you going to do when your celebrity life ends?”
“Well, I’m still thinking about what to do next.”
“Why did I trust you and take you in?” JN Entertainment CEO Kim Hakseung often recalled the day Wooyeon visited the company and made a bold request to debut as an actor. Because of Wooyeon’s face, which was too good to be dismissed as a madman, he called him back again when he was being chased out by the security.
“This won’t be a problem,” Wooyeon said, looking through the article at the end of the newspaper. There was no doubt about the future in his smiling eyes. Wooyeon was always like that. In his eyes, there was an unfounded determination.
“Of course there won’t be. This article is on the front page.” CEO Kim Hakseung said, spreading the front page of the sports newspaper back to the table. “You might have been on the front page if it weren’t for this.” There was rather shocking content decorating the headline.
“Girl idol. Jumped from the agency building. Suicide again?” Mr. Cha, who was sitting opposite Wooyeon, muttered while reading the front page with a pale face.
An article stating a female idol died from jumping of the roof of a building early that morning was decorated with all kinds of provocative phrases. Wooyeon sat there with a disinterested face.
“And as of yesterday, manager Kim resigned.”
“Again?” Mr.  Cha asked surprised.
“Yes, again, again and again.” CEO Kim Hakseung grinded his teeth. It was already the eighth time this year. The life of a manager with an irregular life and unclear income is not very long. If you work under a large entertainment company however, it is called The God’s Workplace in the manager industry because you receive not only the four major insurances but also bonuses regularly. Among them, JN provides the best annual salary and treatment in the industry, so it has been crowded with people who want to join there as a manager. There were many people who dreamed of setting up their own entertainment business later because working for a good company naturally increases networking and skill learning. The greater the popularity of the celebrity, the more it gave the manager power. The better the celebrity he was in charge of, the prouder he felt and worked harder.
The fact that Lee Wooyeon, who is the best in Korea, continues to change managers meant that he was the problem after all. However, he was a celebrity famous for his good personality. Lee Wooyeon, who has been in the top spot for several years as the celebrity best suited for endorsements, was well-received by those around him. He was never late, and he was always polite to the staff. It was common for people to be humble when they were rookies, but as they became more popular, get overly cocky and self-centered. In the case of Lee Wooyeon, he was always polite and was popular among the people he worked with.
“This is all because of your dirty personality!”
“No way,” Wooyeon replied with a smile. He looked so gentle and good-looking. However, CEO Kim knew the gutter-like personality hidden under the angel-like mask.
“How did you bully him this time?”
“Me? I never did. Did Manager Kim say I did? Did he say he was leaving because I bullied him?”
“…” When Manager Kim quit, he did not say a word blaming Wooyeon. He just disappeared after saying that he was incompetent and lacking, and that he would no longer be able to work as a manager.
“Hmm...” Wooyeon hummed, taking out his cell phone with a long, elegant finger. As soon as he saw Wooyeon, who looked like he knew why he quit, CEO Kim cursed a thousand times.
Managers who were in charge of Lee Wooyeon resigned for the same reason. They said that they felt they were not good enough to take on the role of Lee Wooyeon’s manager, the best star in Korea, and said they were sorry. Once or twice wouldn’t be strange, but it’s been eight times this year alone, so CEO Kim couldn’t help but suspect Wooyeon. Surely that devilish man did something behind the scenes to make the innocent managers quit. How on earth did he cleverly manipulate these grown men?
Wooyeon sighed, “please don’t day things like... I bully my managers until they quit, sir.”
“Then tell me why they all say the same thing when they hand in their notice”
“Well, I don’t know that either.” In fact, Wooyeon was not a good person. Although he deceived people with his good looks and soft tone, ‘a bad personality’ wasn’t enough to describe his true self. It was like that even now. Wooyeon did not express any emotion even when it was reported that a person in the same entertainment industry committed suicide.
“By the way, did they give any reason for why she killed herself?”
Mr. Cha read the article with his tongue-in-cheek. He clenched his tongue and shook his head sadly. Still then, Wooyeon was still texting on his cell phone with an indifferent face. “Anyways, it’s such a shame. At such a young age.”
“Even though there is an order in which we come into this life, there is no order for when we leave it.” Both men look at Wooyeon, “even if it’s a shame, she’s already dead. There’s nothing we can do.”
“Tsk, an entertainment industry colleague has fallen to her death... Are you that heartless?”
“Please, I said that to tell you both not to be so heartbroken about it.”
If you didn’t know about Lee Wooyeon, he has a voice that could fool you. However, CEO Kim Hakseung knew the trashy soul behind the mask. Wooyeon dramatically puts his hand to his heart as he furrowed his eyebrows...
Tumblr media
It was a pitiful tone that made it hard to believe that it was the same person as the person who was discussing the order of dying just before.
CEO Kim and Mr. Cha were the only people who knew Wooyeon’s true self. The two also knew that the voice of Lee Wooyeon, who touched their hearts just now, was all made up.
This was Lee Wooyeon’s personality.
Mr. Cha Hyungyu was busy smoking a cigarette. He came here after CEO Kim’s order to closely monitor Lee Wooyeon, but the funeral home was very uncomfortable. Reporters lingering near the funeral home trying to catch a story, and female idols who were secretly fighting in the midst of this were also tired.
It’s been over ten years since he’d worked in this industry, but at times like this, he felt skeptical about the place. He felt a vibration in his pocket. Mr. Cha put his cigarette in his mouth and pulled out his cell phone.
“Yes. This is Cha Hyungyu. Oh yes. I’m in front of the funeral home’s front door, so come over here. Call me when you arrive. Alright.”
After the call, he put out the cigarette he was holding. It seems that Wooyeon’s manager, who was supposed to start work today, arrived.
“Tsk, I have no luck.”
Lee Wooyeon had a bad personality. The only people who knew the true nature of that were CEO Kim and himself. At first, Mr. Cha also thought that Lee Wooyeon was an angel that could never exist. Seeing his consistently sincere, polite, and humble behavior, he told other celebrities working in the same agency to watch and learn from Lee Wooyeon. It was by accident that they discovered the dark secrets hidden in the angel’s skin.
Cha Hyungyu took out a new cigarette from the pack and lit it. Poisonous cigarette smoke rushed into his lungs.
“What. Oh, it’s Lee Wooyeon.”
“It’s a celebrity, a celebrity. The good-looking Lee Wooyeon.”
As the waiter opened the door, the people outside seemed to be able to see the scene inside the room. Two men passing by suddenly raised their heads and spoke. It was rare for drunk people to stay quiet when they saw a celebrity.
When CEO Kim offered to buy alcohol to commemorate the successful end of a drama he had filmed a while ago, it was situations like this that Wooyeon expressed his concern about. But the CEO said he would prepare a good room, so he should come. Because it’s the CEO who said this, Wooyeon reluctantly followed.
“You only go the set, your house and the gym... What the hell do you do for fun?” CEO Kim asked with a drink in hand. “You’ve got to let yourself breathe every noe and then to be more approachable!”
“A celebrity?? It’s Lee Wooyeon!” A grown man stumbled into their private room. “What the fuck is that drama you’re doing... You’re Lee Wooyeon from the Wind’s Whatchamacallit, right?”
“Sir! You can’t do this,” the waiter tried and failed to grab the man’s attention.
“Oh! Seeing the real thing, you’re really good looking.” Wooyeon sighed at the drunkard’s remark and plastered on a smile. “My niece is a fan of yours. Gimme a few autographs... and some pictures. No, no, gimme your number.” The man was red in the face and stumbling. Wooyeon got up to address the man personally. “I’ll get my niece to give you a call later.”
Wooyeon got up from his seat without showing any displeasure and reached to shake his hand. “Another time perhaps,” Wooyeon said politely as he bowed his head.
Tumblr media
“Huh?! What? Are you not going to gimme the autograph?” The man shoved Wooyeon’s shoulder as the waiter tries to grab hold of him. “You think you’re so fucking great? Huh? When you’re just a rookie!”
CEO Kim’s expression darkened at the bleak atmosphere. The waiter hurriedly tried to get the men out of the room, but to no avail. Now everyone is standing as the argument became more heated.
“Is signing an autograph so hard?” The nervous waiter’s weak voice kept trying to get the drunk man out of the room.
“There are guests using this room, please leave,” he said in a sweat.
“Fucking bastard! Who do you think you are, ordering me out?!” He turned his head back to Wooyeon. “He thinks he’s so great he can’t sign an autograph?”
The CEO raised his hands trying to calm the situation, “Now, now, settle down... Excuse him. He’s had too much to drink,” he gestured to Wooyeon, “and is in no condition to sign autographs. Please understand.”
“He’s too drunk, huh?’ The man grabs an empty glass from the table. “Then he should pour me a glass. Even if he’s drunk, he’s gotta be able to pour.”
Wooyeon’s face hesitated for a moment before grabbing a bottle and poured in the glass.
“That’s it. Let’s taste a drink poured by a fucking celeb.” The man smiled as the liquid trickled into the glass. “I’ll drink this and head out.” He looked back up to Wooyeon and glared. ‘Hey,” in a split second, Wooyeon was drenched with the liquor. “Rude bastard.” Wooyeon didn’t move an inch as the waiter was finally able to escort the man out the room.
“I-I’ll bring you a towel!”
The CEO sighed, “are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“There are jerks like that no matter where you go...”
Tumblr media
Mr. Cha pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and offered it to the actor. Lee Wooyeon raised his hand and pushed the manager’s handkerchief away. “…?”
“Please put your handkerchief away. If you bring me a towel, I will us that instead.”
“Sorry. I brought you here to cheer you up.” Wooyeon flashed a polite smile at the apology coming from the CEO. Lee Wooyeon thanked the waiter who brought the towel as well. Looking back, the waiter didn’t close the door right away, so this unfortunate incident happened. He didn’t show any signs of annoyance, let alone anger. The waiter bowed his head repeatedly and apologized
“Though, I guess this means you’re famous now, “Mr. Cha tried to make the situation light. “For even guys like that to recognize you.” When Mr. Cha tried to lighten the mood with a joke, Wooyeon replied with a smile as he roughly wiped the alcohol with the towel. Outside the door, he saw the man passing by who had just argued with him.
Tumblr media
“I’m going to go wash my face,” Wooyeon stood up.
“You’re going to leave in that state?
“The bathroom is right there, I’ll be fine.” With that Wooyeon left, leaving CEO Kim and Mr. Cha alone.
“Geez, being that nice... I’m worried that he won’t make it through this world,” Mr. Cha said.
“He may look that way, but he’s got real determination. He’s definitely going to get bigger,” the CEO muttered as he brought his drink to his mouth. In this last drama, he was put in a small role, but the response from the viewers was amazing, so the writer eventually changed the story and he became a major supporting role. He even received more spotlight than the lead and rumors circulated that the lead said he would never work with Lee Wooyeon again.
“Better project will come in, right?”
“We’ve got to make the right choice. If we put him in just anything...  It’ll use up his image and have the opposite effect.”
“That’s right. Have a lot of scripts come in?”
“A few, but I’ve gotta look over them.”
“It’d be nice if he shot a good movie too,” it was silent for a moment. “...What’s taking him so long? Don’t tell me somebody’s picking a fight with him again?” A shiver goes down CEO Kim’s back.
“We just barely survived getting a drink thrown at him earlier! If Wooyeon is on his own...!” They both shoot up from their seats. “Got to the bathroom, hurry!”
After running around the floor they were on, they realized Wooyeon was nowhere to be found.
“He’s not in the bathroom!” CEO Kim panted. “Try calling him!”
“He’s not picking up,” Mr. Cha’s face grew paler.
“You don’t think something’s happened to him, do you? Call his manager! Tell them that if they don’t bring that guy from before right now, we’ll report them to the police!”
Tumblr media
Their panic was interrupted by a heavy sound coming from behind the door leading to the emergency staircase, followed by another sound. CEO Kim was now in front of the door, hesitating.
“We shouldn't have let him go alone.”
The CEO pushed the heavy iron door back and called out Lee Wooyeon’s name, “hey Wooyeon... are you-”
BAM! STOMP! STOMP! STOMP! STOMP!! Lee Wooyeon was there. But not the Lee Wooyeon they knew.
At his feet, the gangster who poured liquor on him was lying down with white foam on his mouth. Lee Wooyeon, who had been kicking the man who had lost consciousness, looked back without showing any signs of surprise. There was blood all over his smiling face.
“Woo-Wooyeon?” Wooyeon casually turned at the call of his name. His gentle face showing no emotion with a splash of blood on his cheek.
“Why did you come out here? It’s cold.”
“...We got worried when you didn’t come back...” the CEO’s voice trembled.
“Woah... Th-there's... blood on your face...” Mr. Cha, unable to speak properly, points to his face with his finger, and Lee Wooyeon wiped it away with his palm. And then let out a low laugh.
“Oh... this?” Wooyeon flashed a smile that could be hung in a museum and admired by hundreds.
Tumblr media
“Don’t worry, it’s not mine.” He kicked the head of the man one more time. At the same time, CEO Kim and Mr. Cha frowned and grimaced unknowingly. Lee Wooyeon continued wiping the blood on his shoes on the man’s clothes. The two were silent.
This was something that was obviously worrying. Looking at the man who was lying down beside Wooyeon, it looked like he needed at least seven weeks to recover from the dislocations he had.
“What the hell is this…” Even after seeing the situation in front of him, CEO Kim could not believe what he was seeing. The two of them didn’t know how to react to the unexpected transformation of the angelic Lee Wooyeon, who never showed any anger, and had a smile on his face no matter what.
“We ran into each other on the way to the bathroom.”
“…”
“Don’t worry. I checked there weren’t any CCTV cameras over here... and I hit him from behind so he won’t know it was me.” Lee Wooyeon pointed at the beer bottle lying on the floor with a friendly glance. He also had leather gloves on his hands. “And there won't be any fingerprints.” The CEO wondered whether this really was a coincidence. CEO Kim and Mr. Cha looked at each other... The actor casually walked towards the pair as if what he did was the most normal thing in the world.
Are you really saying that this person is Lee Wooyeon? Is Lee Wooyeon really spitting out foul words with such a soft tone? It was unbelievable even though he saw it with his own eyes and heard it with his own ears.
“…I really don’t know.” It was a word from CEO Kim with complex meaning.
“Any other questions?” Wooyeon showed no sign of embarrassment or shame despite revealing his ugly side. He took off his blood-soaked leather gloves and handed it to Mr. Cha. “It’ll be risky for me to carry these around.”
“O-okay...” The manager accepted the leather gloves with a shaky face.
“Then I’ll be off.” Lee Wooyeon, who was passing by the two of them, seemed to remember something. He reached out to Mr. Cha and said, “please lend me your handkerchief.”
“…uh.” As if possessed by something, Mr. Cha took out his handkerchief and handed it to him. Wooyeon wiped the blood off his face with the handkerchief and handed it back to the manager.
“Please throw this away too,” he walked through the iron door and disappeared.
The two got to know the real him at that moment. The Lee Wooyeon who politely refused using Mr. Cha’s handkerchief to not dirty it was gone. From that day on, Lee Wooyeon stopped pretending to be nice in front of the two of them.
“Anyways, I’ve prepared a black suit. Mr. Cha will take you, so go to the funeral. Paying your respects will improve your reputation,” CEO Kim explained.
“Is there even space for it to improve?”
“Even if it’s annoying, you’ve got to go. You’ve got our company’s image to think of,” the CEO placed both hands on his hips as he nagged the young man.
“Who said it was annoying? OF course, I’ll go.”
“Ah! And... your new manager that starts tomorrow will take you home so... NO BULLYING!”
“I told you, I don’t bully them,” Wooyeon sighed.
“The press will be there so watch yourself... Don’t do anything stupid.”
“Something stupid?” Lee Wooyeon’s weak spot...
“Women.”
“Oh, women,” Wooyeon grinned. ‘As if... Do I seem like the kind of asshole who would stir up such problems at a funeral? Me?”
The CEO just stayed quiet with his mouth open. “Fine, leave,” CEO Kim waved off the actor.
“Well then,” Wooyeon left the office, leaving the CEO and Mr. Cha by themselves.
“Ugh, what a headache.”
“But... What’s his new manager like, sir?”
“Huh? New manager?” The CEO smiled, “they’re someone who won’t quit, no matter what!”

Historia De Un Amor (Love History Caused By Willful Negligence)
Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce a project I've been working on. It is by NO MEANS AN ORIGINAL WORK, but it's something I've put some time and energy in and hopefully I find more people who enjoy this.
So I'm going to be posting my version of Love History Caused By Willful Negligence, so this is an AU. I'm delusional and I want Wooyeon for myself so I changed the story a bit to fit a plus-sized female character instead. I'm practically just editing the story to fit my needs and thought maybe others will enjoy it.
Please support the manhwa here: Lezhin If you'd like to read the original novel which is where I'm primarily editing the story from you can read it here: Story Seedling I'd also love to give credit to Naralara and Chef who translated the novel and it's their hard work that has made this easy for me. I just want to make this clear, I'm just editing the translation of the novel to fit my fantasies.
I'd like to give a big thank you to Uzutokkeng for creating this brilliant story. It has become my all time favorite. I'm completely enamored with the man that is Lee Wooyeon. I'd also like to thank Ginjyo for adapting this novel into manhwa form. Without that, I wouldn't have discovered this to begin with and thank you for making Wooyeon so fine. 🧎
Hope you enjoy! ❤️
