Tbh, I feel like the "gross/freaky looking" comments are mainly bc of the bigger focus on unity and cohesion in japanese society over being individual, including the appearance.

That's why one of the flashback comments is "Dye your hair black!" - to have Sakura fit into the appearance of society and everyone else

Wind Breaker has a good OP and seems like it might be maybe interesting. but i am sick and tired of main characters being like "the world hates me for my freakish looks" and they just look cool. nobody would genuinely look at this guy and think "disgusting" theyd think "woah that's fucking sick"

Looks like he can kill you, but won't. Unless you're actively threatening him or something he holds dear (or you stand in his way ala the enemies in the game), but he definitely can and will show mercy

For the VA nerds out here, Zagreus is voiced by none other than Darren Korb, you know, the Voice of Skelly, the vocalist for Orpheus and the LITERAL SOUND DIRECTOR AND COMPOSER OF FUCKING SUPERGIANT GAMES! If that ain't already a fucking list to add here, IDK what qualifies

Andromache is super tough, strong, and can beat anyone in a fight. She can also beat the bury the gays allegations as she can die but does not stay dead. She has been alive since est. 4700 BCE and has been protecting humanity with her blade skills for over 6000 years. She has been the leaders of various communities and worshiped as a goddess in several cultures. Andy is the founding member of the Old Guard, where she fights side-by-side with her life long love Quyuh (or Noriko as she is known in the comics, who is also a badass warrior and archer). Andy knows countless languages and is an expert in all weapons but her main weapon of choice is her labrys (a very lesbian blade weapon, so I hope it can be excused that it is not a sword). She has forgotten more ways to kill a man than any person/army will ever know in their lives. And yet even with this ferocious and tough skill-set, she is still so kindhearted, caring, passionate, selfless and protective of her found family and will do anything for them and for her love (even during the present complicated situation which i will not outline bc spoilers for The Old Guard). I am a fan of both and I didn't really noticed that both fandoms went up against each other.

The only thing I know about that is the fact that the producer of NSR was surprisingly positive about HFR, hell even the official NSR account was like "Hey, if you like what we did, check out that game, even if it's different"

But can imagine why people would pit the games against each other, same happens sadly with HypMic and ParaLive...

Seeing Hi Fi Rush trending on twitter and getting nominated for the gaming awards really reminds me of that brief time No Straight Roads fans and Hi Fi Rush fans were at war over their respective games.

And it was annoying...

I'll be honest, not peeved about losing Ultimate Game of the Year to BG3, one of the othe games I'll say that deserve it even without playing it (third one's Street Fighter 6, mainly bc it's my first actual try into fighting games and it's fun), but it low-key felt a bit picking favourites with Starfield and the other ones.

But hoping HFR will nab some trophies in upcoming awards! 💛
