I'm back in the Ninjago building again and currently rewatching all of the show, and so far I've been really impressed with the writing! Like, wowza, writers actually doing interesting things with the characters and giving them full arcs every season, with the lessons somewhat being consistent as they go on? I didn't know that shows did this!

...And then I started Hands of Time and all of that got thrown out of the window

my OC, Peony 🌸

Her full name is Penelope Bridger-Corvo, but her partner Ruth gave her the nickname Peony !! She cherishes that name, because to her, it represents the beauty and romance and love that she never believed she could have or be, before she met the one who sees her for all of her delicate blooming light. She finally feels all of the things that the flower represents, and so she always buys them as a reminder that she is worth it. After a lifetime of feeling alone and helpless, she has to really tell herself that.

Peony was born into a crime family that sold a substance by the name of witch’s breath. The substance, when taken, would not only give a sense of levity, but grant powers, similar to the ones given out by the Empire to their military. For many vulnerable people in poorer areas of the continent, witch’s breath was their only line of defense against potential violence. The Corvos saw this as an opportunity to manipulate their way into a place of extreme success. Peony was raised to be just like her parents, with the same cunning and facetious smiles that could force people into dependence on their product. But she never felt good doing it, and when she would object, she was met with extreme cruelty. She would act out at school in order to cry for attention, but many people found her annoying or scary, so she had no social connection outside of her family.

Once she grew older, in an effort to change things, she asked her parents if she can go to school to become a therapist to help people who the Corvos might prey on. This action resulted in 18-year-old Peony being kicked out of her home and being wiped from her family history. With nothing but abandonment issues and a set of morally compromising survival skills, she becomes jaded and buries her soft side. After all, the only thing it has gotten her is crushing loneliness. She begins to steal from other people in order to make ends meet and takes up a terrible janitor job that she hates more than anything in the world. But one day, on one of her midnight robberies, she meets a struggling craftsman whose ideas were too big for his family, and is trying to follow his passion completely alone. The two understood each other immediately, both abandoned by the world. Except the craftsman still had hope that one day, he might be able to prove them wrong. They fell head over heels for each other. Despite some inconveniences (the crafstman tries to swindle Peony, Peony tries to steal from the crafstman) that cut their first meeting short, after that night, they want nothing but to spend time with the other, even if it’s just cruel banter over money. They at least want to have the other’s name. They meet weeks later in the same spot, and, much more calmly, they introduce themselves. The craftsman’s name is Ruth.

Peony and Ruth end up dating and marry two years later, and are all the happier because of it. They are very Strawberry Blond - Mitski … 🪶🌸

this is GOLDDDD and so perfect

i hc that lightbulb uses doubly silly replacement swears like "flip" and "freak" to the point where nobody thinks she actually knows them, but if she's SUPER irritated she'll pull out the actual words lol. ALSO she uses avast as a swear and other pirate language lol

i feel like fan would try not to swear to fake still being on the show, but if he gets super frazzled he would pull out light ones like crap LOOOL "that was in the name of the first episode!1!1!1" as his justification

inanimate insanity swearing hcs:

now that the show is over and they don't have to be pg, the contestants can swear.

paintbrush and knife both swear frequently.

test tube uses silly borderline swears like she has been. (jeebweezer, etc)

since bot isn't technically a child there's no reason for test tube and fan to force them not to swear. it's just discouraged.

every fourth word nickel says is not appropriate for television.

taco swears in french. occasionally in british terms.

pickle rage quits in games and is very. vocal. about it.

silver spoon, at the slightest inconvenience, will yell, "everybody fucking hates me today!" and stomp out of the room. the last time this happened it was over a grilled cheese sandwich.

anytime clover swears (rare) and convenient truck will pass by and censor it. no one knows where these trucks are coming from but nickel has been hit six separate times now and it's a miracle he can still walk.

I feel insane. IDK WHEN BUT. I thought of the fact that rnd from dandys world is essentially the puppet, gangle, and yinyang all mashed together into a darling creature so I thought it would be silly to draw them together. it's SO RUSHED and SO BAD but here's a helpful infographic

I think this is a great introduction into . multiple of my interests. enjoy! while I go finish my bright lights/flying buddies gjinkas! byee<3

My Fanny human design :3 !! 💙

I hope she’s okay next in the episode… If she DOES get eliminated, I hope she at least talks about One before she goes!

That being said, here are some of my design notes, as per usual!

She has light blue hair that’s somewhat shaped like her blades, a blue beanie to represent the stand (neck??) of the fan, and some grunge inspired clothing and accessories just because I like drawing them haha :P The bubble skirt is shaped like the bottom part of the fan, and I think it was a cool move design-wise :D Also gave her some chunky shoes just because they’re fun to draw, and they’ve got a little P.A.C.T. symbol on the side. This was a pretty quick design for funsies, but I like how it came out !!

FOR THE LOVE OF GODD PLEAAAASE!!!! Where is the Reflective Detective type ship names in the OSC !! We have so much to work with!!

I'm considering calling Lightbrush either Stained Glass or Suncatcher (both are glass like Lightbulb and are, well, painted) but neither of those glow, so I'm still working on it...My Dandy's World friends that heard me yap about Lightbrush literally asked me why the flip they were called that !! WE CAN DO BETTER CHAT !!
