Age gaps in a romance between characters who initially knew one another when the younger character was fairly young are really fascinating to work through from a character study point of view.

When did they know? If the young party knew first, did the older one have to rebuff them?

if they had to rebuff them, how did they feel about it at the time? Did they even have feelings for the younger party yet? or was it something that came afterwards?

When did the way the saw the younger party change? Was it a major incident all at once, or something gradual?

Does the older party feel guilt or shame for their feelings toward the younger party changing as they aged? Is there a feeling of confusion?

If the older party actually did have feelings when the younger one was too young, how do they deal with those feelings? how do they feel about themselves for having them?

If the younger party was initially rebuffed, how do they feel about being told to wait?

Does the younger party have to fight to be seen as a viable romantic target at all?

"I could never see them like that!"

"How can I get them to see me like I want to be seen?"

It just adds so many interesting psychological dynamics and so much push and pull and tension and confusion. Very compelling and fascinating to think about.

i think he cares a lot and likes to know what's going on in the cats he cares about's lives.

like i think he's nosy and gossipy but not for the sake of it.

for example i hc willowpelt as being in on the gossip. she's not malicious or anything, she just likes to know what's on the up and up. and she'll pass shit on if she feels like she needs to. but mostly she just...likes to know. girlie 100% knew greystripe and silverstream were a thing. she just enjoys knowing.

but firestar wants to know because he cares! he sleuths out all sorts of things because he cares about people!

like i think he probably knew about leafpool and crowfeather because that's his daughter and he loves her and he wants to know if she loves someone.

he's in on the gossip because he cares about all the cats in thunderclan and wants to know what's going on in their lives and that manifests as being a bit nosy but it's not motivated by knowledge, per se, it's motivated by like...when parents ask their kids what happened at school and they ask a bunch of questions and the kid is a lil uncomfortable but the parent is motivated out of, "i love you, i want to know what's happening in your life."

Absolutely! I have some on enemies to lovers on the collection which might work for Ravenpaw/Tigerclaw, but here are some for each!

So, I'm normally an 18+ interaction only blog, but I am making an exception for this post in particular as it needs to be spread, and because this is to the benefit of younger pro-ship/pro-fic people who are not able to safely use Aethy yet. (Please do not follow my blog if you are under 18! Just read and spread this post.)

As you may or may not be aware, many of us have created accounts on Aethy to get away from Tumblr's increasing amounts of fandom policing and are becoming increasingly active there, as it is a site that allows full creative freedom.

However, it is 18+ only, meaning younger folks cannot escape to it if they end up on Tumblr's radar and start getting banned.

If you are under 18 and pro-ship/pro-fic/comshipper/anti-harassment and want/need somewhere to create a backup account (and also to find a much safer community for yourself than Tumblr), create a Pillowfort account ASAP if you do not already have one.

It does have some small limitations, but none of those are going to matter if you are a minor. This site is pro-fiction and anti-harassment.

It's a little different, but it's somewhat similar to Tumblr.

I have created a group there that you can use to keep in contact with your moots and moot-in-laws if shit ever goes south for you.

This isn't an attempt to fearmonger, but things don't look like they're going to get better here. Even if you continue to use primarily Tumblr, at least have this in your back pocket. It might just save you some trouble down the road.

Even if you are not a minor, feel free to join the group as well. It is strictly SFW (as you can post NSF[T] on your own blog or in another group; this group is to allow the community to keep in contact). That said, if you are over 18, I highly recommend joining Aethy as it has total and full creative freedom with no exceptions, and is where most of us are currently active.
