I just had a discussion with my friend about fanfiction and how we tend to assume that women are the writers without any actual proof. Then I said, hey, I know fanfiction written by gay and trans dudes. But then I remembered, wait, I think I know one writer who just must be cis het based on his work. we have DID! and personally, if you are a singlet (non-system) writing a fic about Austin and Texas or any other headcannoned system character, please do research first, or leave it to systems or educated singlets to write. I have no problem with some of the singlets I know, who are friends with many systems, writing a fic along those lines, but when someone takes the idea and uses it just to create plot and conflict and drama and don't put in the effort to make it accurate, that's when I have a problem with it. if you're gonna write Austin and Texas as a system, write it authentically and accurately please. there's enough false information, false representation, and stigma in media about systems so take this opportunity with this headcannon that we personally love and use it correctly and to it's full potential as something that can be a benefit :)

I can see that. Especially with Austin and Texas. I do know Ben said if you see yourself with Austin and Texas then that’s fine but he wasn’t making Texas have DID intentionally.

Some people even got angry that he was making fun of it but then again when are people not angry at him (looking at you NJ joins the table)

But I can’t speak on this myself, if anyone else who has DID would like to chime in feel free too!

here’s a very unhelpful contribution to the SoCal and NorCal talk

so like, I personally have 0 idea which region surfer cali is suppose to represent. because while yeah, SoCal has a bunch of nicer beaches compared to NorCal, surfing isn’t too much less popular up there. and based on some peoples idea of where the border starts and ends for the two of them, santa cruz(aka big big surfing spot) is in NorCal.

do we even know how many splits of california there are in canon? because really for the main ones there’d at least have to be 4. south, central, northern, and the bay area. i guess there could be an argument that the bay area is just NorCal, but also cities like SF and santa cruz are majorly different than upstate counties like shasta and yuba.

or is cali just split into the broader stereotypes of north and south california?-

hoping on the Greg + cryptid states bandwagon-

technically Greg doesn't show in the actual "The Statehouse" series, but we've all already agreed that that's how he started working with the states.

The Statehouse series only has like 3 episodes if I'm guessing correctly (it's been awhile)... has anyone put any thought as to why the series ended in this cryptid AU? maybe something happened to Greg and the show was cancelled..

idk! just wanted to plant that idea if it hasn't been planted already... has some great angst potential

I've always had a silent headcannon that Florida was colorblind and had Tritanopia, which makes me personally love the picture you drew of Florida saying as it almost looks like its been put through a tritan filter-
