Do you have any advice on learning to draw cats semi-realistically? I really admire your work
the only advice for drawing anything realistically is looking at actual pictures of the thing. i look at tons of pictures of cats. i started practicing cats by tracing photos of them, learning the shapes and curves and building muscle memory in my hands. i’m definitely still learning. the more you look at and analyze photos (or the real thing if you have a cat) the more you will build the visual library in your head to pull from while you draw. your own semi-realistic style will come naturally once you study the real thing. and thanks! that’s really sweet
some of you seemed interested in my ocs from my last comic so here’s the main cats from that story

Salmon snailfish are deeply charming with their glossy salmon-colored bodies and their tiny PacMan mouths. Those wiggly fins on their chinny-chin-chins are used to taste the seafloor so that they can hunt for crunchy crustaceans like shrimps, amphipods, and crabs. The little mouth, the frilly fins—what’s not to love about the salmon snailfish?
