Tonight an excerpt from Loose Teeth will be shown, along with three other new works from playwrights, in the emerging writers festival Melbourne.   Loose Teeth aims to explore non linear narrative in a way that mirrors the tangles of realisation and deception in the various relationships of our lives. Following a group of friends who’ve come together over dinner, their kitchen table becomes a chess board which they strategically unveil each other over.

Loose Teeth was recently shortlisted for the Max Afford Playwrights’ Award with Playwriting Australia.

I saw someone describe doing a show as like living in a separate house, and I can’t think of anything more apt. When you do a show the theater you’ve got your season in really is like a weird giant house.

“Maybe he could be in a movie that passes the Bechdel test” “This is Hollywood, real life doesn’t pass the Bechdel test!" 

The world wants Leo to win an Oscar, the Academy doesn’t but it can’t just be because they hate him…right? A bunch of writers aching for their big break get it when DiCaprio assembles them, like the worlds worst Avengers, to write him an Oscar winning part. Stuck in a room and running out of time they try and figure out what even warrants a good movie these days. Surely it’s more than really dark lighting and a male lead. Based on the 2014 play by Cassandra Yiannacou, and re-imagined for the screen…or at least YouTube. ‘There’s something about Leo’ will be coming soon!
