Why do you write Steddie?

It kinda took over my brain back in 2022 and hasn’t released me since. I haven’t felt this possessed by a ship in a while.

What’s your favorite trope to READ?

I’m a huuuuuge sucker for mutual pining.

What’s your favorite trope to WRITE?

As much as I love reading mutual pining fics, I think I tend to mostly write established relationships or fast burn romances.

What’s your favorite Steddie fic?

Okay, this is super hard and I was able to narrow it down to four and from that we’ve got what I think is my favorite, which is The Buckley Double-Cross by breezeheart . It’s just so quintessential steddie and one of the first fics I truly LOVED.

Is there a trope you’re excited to explore in a future work but haven’t yet?

I don’t have any fics planned right now that are completely out of my wheelhouse. But if anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears~

What is your writing process like?

I get an idea (sometimes from the Steddie Adoption Community) and it goes on my list of plots documents. Then when I get to it, I typically outline how I want the fic to go. Although recently I’ve been experimenting with NOT outlining X3. Anyways, once outlined or not, it goes to my fic schedule document and I start writing the first chapter. I don’t edit or use a beta so once it’s done, I publish it. And that’s the process for all my chapters.

Do you have any writing quirks?

I’ve noticed recently that I use the word “actually” a lot and I’m trying to use it less often. I’ve also been told about my killer cliffhangers LOL

Do you prefer posting when you’ve finished writing or on a schedule?

When I finish writing. I could never keep to an actual schedule.

Which fic are you most proud of?

The King and the Prince. For something that started as stream of conscious vignettes to actually turn into a full fic with a plot and everything, I’m really proud of myself for keeping up with it and seeing it through as we near the conclusion

How did you get the idea for Built for Loving?

That was the brilliant idea allthingssteddie put in the adoption community and I just ran with it like a greedy lil raccoon.

When writing Hawkins Confidential, what was something you didn’t expect?

It’s a fic of mine that doesn’t have a traditional outline, so I’m always kinda surprised by how easy it is to write the chapters and figure out what comes next.

What inspired Doctor Munson?

Just the old stereotype that Victorian doctors would prescribe cocaine and orgasms to their female patients and also one or two porn videos about doctors cucking their patients.

What was your favorite part to write from Eddie and His Bats?

Just getting to write the bats being absolutely dopey with love for Steve because Eddie was so drunk on it.

How do/did you feel writing Anything For You?

I had a grand old time. I remember feeling so scandalous writing those smut scenes. Oh how time flies.

What was the most difficult part of writing Hawkins Confidential?

The first arc with Eddie’s return and Tommy’s affair was pretty simple. But for this second part I had to decide which plotlines I wanted to follow next because with soap operas there’s always more than one thing going on and figuring out the A and B took some thinking.

Do you have a favorite scene and/or line from any of your fics?

Gosh there’s a lot I get a kick out of (I write my fics for myself after all!) but something that sticks out because I don’t do it often is the interactions of Steve’s parents in Matchmaking Harringtons. They’re just so goofy and lovable in that.

Do you have any upcoming projects or fics you’d like to share/promote?

There’s my steddissy a/b/o fic Lambing if you like drama and feels. For something lighter, there’s my sitcom fic The Brighter Side

Outside of these questions, Is there anything YOU would like to add?

Just that I’ve had a ton of fun writing all this fic and I love that people like to read it too! ^-^ I’ve made real actual friends in this fandom thanks to it <3

I have a general rec of Where the moths come to die by sevenspacerangers. It's criminally under read and SUCH a brilliant fic. It's listed as a wip but as the author has said it's definitely readable as finished, as it closes off the main plot thread at its current end. Just so gloriously written, gorgeous and visceral descriptions, heart wrenching will they won't they, is it too late, etc etc. I enjoyed it so much and it deserves more love!!
