Eddie paced back and forth in front of the door. His palms were sweating and his stomach was in knots. This was a bad idea. A very bad idea. He should just turn around, walk down the stairs to the exit and get into his truck and drive home. He should not take out his key and open the door and follow through with his stupid plan. Plans likes these get people killed...well maybe not killed..maimed? No plans like these end with friendships being destroyed. He should put his key away. He should leave. Like he has done countless times before. Or he could grow some balls and open the door...the key was already in the lock... All he had to do was turn the doorknob...

"In and out. Just like Afghanistan... Okay not so much like Afghanistan... In and out." Eddie muttered as he pushed open the door.

"Hey? Did you forget something?" Buck asked as he came down the stairs of his loft.

"In and out..." Eddie whispered to himself and Buck frowned in confusion.

"Wha..." Eddie cut him off and slammed him against the wall next to the door.

Buck blinked at him as shock flickered over his face.

"Eddie, what the hell?" Buck huffed as he tried to free himself from the wall but Eddie get him firmly against it.

"Just like Afghanistan... Okay not at all like Afghanistan." Eddie muttered to himself and Buck frowned.

"Did you hit your head? The fuck is the matter with you?" Buck asked roughly but the hint of pure concern shone through.

Eddie could feel his resolve leaving him and knew he had to act fast.

"We should have sex." Eddie blurted out as he smoothed out Buck's sweater, where he had just grabbed it.

Buck could only blink again.

"I'm sorry, what now?" Buck asked incredulously and slightly scandalized.

"Sex. Me and you. We should have sex. Sex... together. As in me and you should have sex...together. With each other...together. Sex." Eddie stated feeling like his brain had decided to vacate his skull.

Buck's eyebrow raised higher and higher at every word.

"Are you concussed?" Buck asked and Eddie felt the last bit of his resolve really start to crumble and pushed forward blindly.

"We work incredibly well together. In the field. Imagine what we could do in bed...or the shower... Or the backseat of your jeep...the bunk room at work...In an actual field..." Eddie caged Buck in against the wall.

Buck had gone completely still.

"In a field? Have you ever had sex in a field? With your pollen allergy that's just a disaster waiting to happen. Jesus, Eddie use your head." Buck snorted and Eddie felt his stomach start to relax.

"So we should. Have sex. You and me. Together. With each..."

"Other. Yeah you made that part crystal clear, man. But no we shouldn't. Have sex." Buck stated awkwardly and Eddie felt his heart plummet.

"Why?" Eddie asked trying to keep hold of his resolve.

"What do you mean why?" Buck asked confused and Eddie sighed.

"Give me one good reason why we shouldn't have sex." Eddie raised an eyebrow and Buck's brow furrowed.

"Well...because. Because. Well. We... There's... Here's the thing... Because... Just because!" Buck grumbled and tried to cross his arms but realized that Eddie was too close for him to bring up his arms.

"Wow...You can't even give me one reason can you? I'm not going to force this, man. But I want it. I'm letting you know that I want it. Ball is in your court now." Eddie said leaning back from the wall and walked out.

Eddie woke up to his bed dipping down next to him. The familiar scent calmed him the second it hit his nose.

"I hate you." Buck whispered and Eddie smirked.

"No you don't." Eddie stated confidently.

"Well, I should. You can't just tell someone you want to have sex with them. Who does that?" Buck huffed and Eddie looked over his shoulder to see Buck looking up at the ceiling with his arms behind his head.

"Eddie Diaz does." Eddie smirked and Buck snorted.

"Yeah well, Eddie Diaz is a dick." Buck muttered childishly.

"Want me to blow you and make it better?" Eddie couldn't help but antagonize.

It was a part of who they were...the teasing.

"If we...if we have sex. It changes everything." Buck stated and Eddie turned to face him.

"That's a bit dramatic." Eddie rolled his eyes.

"We can't be friends with benefits, man." Buck sighed and Eddie frowned.

"We wouldn't be. I... We'd...We'd be you know...together?" Eddie whispered and Buck frowned.

"And that would change everything. We'd have to disclose our relationship to Bobby and then the whole team plus our families would know." Buck sighed.

"So? My family loves you and the team wouldn't have a problem with it. You know that." Eddie frowned.

"And Christopher?" Buck asked and Eddie rolled his eyes.

"Would be our biggest fan." Eddie stated.

"Until, I screw up and you both leave. Or the universe pulls the same old routine of Buck can't have nice things and pulls the rug out from under me again but this time...this time I don't lose Abby or Ali...I lose you. I survived being crushed by a ladder truck, I survived embolisms and a tsunami but I wouldn't survive losing you and Christopher. Fucking put me six feet under at that point because I couldn't come back from that." Buck breathed out and Eddie brought a hand to Buck's neck.

"You ever think that those two relationships didn't work out because the universe was trying to tell you that you belong with me and not them?" Eddie asked with a smile as he rubbed small circles into Buck's collarbone.

"I'm scared." Buck rested his forehead against Eddie's.

"You're forgetting the most important thing in all this, Evan." Eddie brushed some of Buck's curls away from his temple.

"What's that?" Buck asked softly.

"I got your back. That never came with an expiration date. That came with a lifetime guarantee." Eddie swore and Buck's breath hitched.

"A field huh?" Buck asked with amusement and Eddie snorted.

"I was frazzled." Eddie grumbled.

"Eddie 'cool as a cucumber' Diaz was frazzled?" Buck asked with a smile.

"Cool as a cucumber? Seriously? Only you can make that saying sound hot." Eddie laughed and Buck smirked.

"That offer still on the table?" Buck asked and Eddie frowned.

"Offer?" Eddie asked and Buck rolled over until he was straddling Eddie.

"To blow me?" Buck asked as he nipped at Eddie's pulse point.

Eddie hissed in pleasure.

"Yes!" Eddie groaned as he pulled Buck's face up and kissed him.

Buck pulled away and tilted his head.

"So what the fuck happened in Afghanistan?" Buck asked amused and Eddie laughed.

Buck was a pretty curious guy. He always was. When he was a kid he would take apart his toys to see the inner workings of them and then put them back together. He remembered traumatizing Maddie when he took apart a Furby... To be fair he put it back together...he wasn't like Sid from Toy Story...he was just curious. He was like that in High School too. He tried every sport and club. He was a Pansexual... He liked to experiment, not that his sexuality was an experiment. He knew himself well enough to know that. Okay...he was rambling off in his own head but he needed to justify to himself that the situation he landed himself in was not his fault. It was his damn curiosity. He just wanted to try something different and he was really fucking regretting it. Damn it...he had work tomorrow. What the hell was he gonna do. He was 28 yeas old for God Sakes, he shouldn't be doing stupid impulsive shit like this... He heard the door opening downstairs and quickly closed the bathroom door. Fuck...

"Yo Buck! You here?" Eddie called out.

Buck kept quiet...maybe he would leave?

"Buck? I saw your jeep out front!" Eddie stated as Buck heard him climb the stairs.

"Not a great time, Eddie." Buck said.

He heard the footsteps stop.

"Shit! Are you with someone?" Buck could hear the panic in Eddie's tone.

"What? No! I...Just kinda in the middle of something." Buck mumbled.

Silence...

"By middle of something do you mean...private time with your right hand?" The amusement and teasing in Eddie's voice was uncalled for.

"No! Jesus!" Buck growled.

"Seriously, what's up with you?" Eddie asked closer to the door.

"I pulled a Buck..." Buck mumbled and he heard Eddie give out a long sigh.

"What did you do?" Eddie asked and Buck bit his lip.

"I did a bad bad thing..." Buck whined.

"The hell did you do?" Eddie asked again and Buck decided to bite the bullet and opened the door.

Eddie blinked. And blinked. And blinked again. Before bursting into laughter.

"It's not funny!" Buck huffed as Eddie bended over to laugh holding his stomach.

"You...you..what are you fourteen?" Eddie choked out through his laughter.

Buck frowned as he self-consciously played with the blue streak in his hair.

"Is it really that noticeable?" Buck asked and Eddie snorted.

"It's an electric blue. Of course it's noticeable. You look like you want to join a My Chemical Romance cover band." Eddie roasted him and Buck groaned throwing himself face first into his bed.

"I just wanted to try something new." Buck grumbled into his pillow.

Buck felt the bed dip and glanced up at a severely amused Eddie Diaz.

"It's not so bad. It kinda suits you." Eddie tried to reassure him as he tugged on the small strand of hair and watched it curl back in on itself as he let go.

"Really?" Buck asked through his lashes and Eddie nodded.

"You could pull anything off." Eddie shrugged and Buck bit his lip.

"Even a blue streak?" Buck asked and Eddie rolled his eyes.

"Yes. You look... You look like you could fuck up my life but like in a good way." Eddie leaned back on his elbows as Buck sat up a bit.

"Are you coming on to me?" Buck asked confused and Eddie blinked.

"The blue hair is really doing it for me...fuck I have issues..." Eddie muttered and Buck laughed.

Buck slowly leaned over Eddie. He smirked down at him.

"You got a thing for wannabe emos?" Buck raised and eyebrow as he stared down at Eddie's lips.

"I got a thing for hot guys with cute hair." Eddie whispered and Buck swallowed.

"If we start...I will never be able to stop." Buck told him honestly and Eddie tugged his streak again.

"Who says we have to stop?" Eddie asked with a smile.

Buck closed his eyes and closed the distance.

"You look ridiculous!" Chim snorted but Buck ignored him as he walked over to Eddie who was getting himself a coffee.

"Morning!" Buck greeted cheerfully and Eddie snorted.

"I just saw you 4 minutes ago. We came in together." Eddie shook his head in amusement.

"Longest 4 minutes of my life." Buck teased and Eddie smiled.

"Buck, what did you do to your hair?" Bobby asked as he came into the kitchen.

"Felt like I needed a change." Buck shrugged.

"I like it. It suits you, Buckaroo." Hen told him and he smiled at her.

"Thanks."

"I gotta get started on detailing the ambo." Eddie said and leaned up for a quick peck before walking away.

Buck smiled and started to get himself a coffee.

"Did I wake up in the Twilight Zone?" Chim called out and Buck saw they were all staring at him.

"Oh, yeah me and Eddie are together now." Buck said offhandedly as he sipped his coffee.

"New hair and a new boo? Nice!" Hen smirked.

"I'll get started on the paper work. I expect both of you will keep it professional while on shift?" Bobby raised an eyebrow and Buck nodded.

"Of course." Buck stated and Chim blinked.

"I don't know what's more unsettling the blue hair or the fact that all those times I thought I caught Eddie checking out your ass... was actually Eddie checking out your ass." Chim stated loudly earning a loud bang and a curse from downstairs.

Buck smirked into his mug.

Here's an interesting prompt for you: Buddie where Eddie and Shannon are in some kind of heated argument, maybe about him being with buck, and it escalates to where Shannon tries to hit or slap Eddie. But before she can, Buck stops her by grabbing her wrist, telling her if she tries that again, she'll regret it.

(Switching it up cause I don't like bringing characters back from the grave RIP Shan-Shan so this will be a pre-relationship between Buck and Eddie, when Shannon was alive)

Buck had been biting his lip hard since he walked into Eddie's place. It's not that he disliked Shannon, he just didn't really know her. Her heart seemed to be in the right place but God, she didn't know how to handle Christopher. Since he got there she had been doing every little thing for him. Christopher liked his independence. If he had issues he would ask for help but he hated being coddled. Shannon was helping him take off his socks and Buck could see Christopher was getting a bit annoyed. Eddie, who was also watching the scene unfold, was cringing hard.

"Hey, buddie? Didn't you have a new action figure you wanted to show me?" Buck asked trying to defuse the tension that Shannon was unaware of.

"Yes!" Christopher practically bolt to his room, which is saying something since he wasn't very fast.

Buck closed the door to Christopher's room. He could hear an argument start to brew...shit. Christopher seemed unaware. They chilled for a bit before the door opened and Eddie came in. Buck had been sitting on the floor leaning against Chris' bed as Chris was sitting on it showing him his new comic book. Eddie plopped down next to Buck looking anxious. Buck leaned in to whisper to him lowly.

"He didn't hear or notice a thing." Buck reassured quietly so Chris wouldn't hear.

Eddie ran a hand through his hair and squeezed Buck's knee.

"Thanks, man. Seriously, I don't know what I'd do without you." Eddie muttered.

"She take off?" Buck asked still keeping his voice low.

Eddie nodded with a frown.

"She'll be back once she cools off." Eddie said and Buck frowned.

"You two need to sort your issues out. It's not healthy for Christopher to see her up and go all the time." Buck grumbled and Eddie sighed.

"I know. It's just hard. We butt heads all the time. It's not like you and..." Eddie froze and blinked.

Buck tensed...

"It's just hard." Eddie mumbled and Buck bit his lip and nodded.

"I know...But I'm here if you need to vent. Always." Buck bumped his shoulder.

"You're not gonna run out on me?" Eddie teased.

Buck smirked.

"You are never getting rid of me, Diaz." Buck stated firmly and Eddie swallowed.

"Good..." Eddie whispered and they stayed like that for another hour in Christopher's room on the floor side by side.

“Hell no.” May shook her head as Buck showed her a purple polo shirt.

Buck nodded throwing in it in the no pile. He pulled out a dark blue Henley. May tilted her head examining it. 

“Maybe.” May muttered and Buck threw it in the maybe pile. 

“You got anything red?” May asked and Buck nodded grabbing a few red shirts and button downs. 

May pointed to a dark red button down. “That one with a white shirt and black jeans.” May said and Buck nodded. 

“Thanks, May you are a life saver.” Buck stated grabbing his clothes and running to the bathroom to change. 

May stayed sitting on his bed crossed legged. Buck came out and May nodded with a small clap of the hands. 

“Perfect. Eddie’s going to lose his mind.” May giggled and Buck smiled. 

“I’m so nervous.” Buck muttered and May rolled her eyes. 

“It will be fine. He already is head over heels in love with you.” May smirked and Buck blushed. 

“Whatever...” Buck muttered and May laughed. 

The sound of a door opening made Buck jump. 

“Hey you ready to go?” Eddie yelled out from downstairs. 

“Yup.” Buck said jogging down the stairs to see Eddie staring at him with that special look in his brown eyes. 

“You look great.” Eddie smiled and Buck blushed.

“I had help.” Buck teased and Eddie raised an eyebrow.

“You guys have fun.” May said walking down and out the door.

“Aww you gotta little sis to help you? That’s adorable.” Eddie teased and Buck punched his arm. 

“Shut up...” Buck smirked as they walked out hand in hand for their first date.

Ramon walked into the station with a black duffle bag. Bobby had spotted him and laughed. 

“Reporting for duty, Diaz?” Bobby teased and Ramon laughed lightly. 

“No, no. Just dropping this off.” Ramon answered with a small smile. 

“Right.” Bobby nodded but frowned in slight confusion considering Eddie’s was off today. 

“Mijo!” Ramon called out and Bobby turned to see Buck walking down the stairs of the loft. 

“Hey Ray! Thanks so much for this. I swear I would lose my head if it wasn’t attached to my neck.” Buck joked grabbing the duffle bag.

“No problem, mijo. I gotta get back to Pepa’s. You still coming over after your shift right?” Ramon asked as Hen and Chim came closer to listen to the conversation.

“Of course. I’m bringing the wine since Eddie has no taste.” Buck stated earning a laugh from Ramon.

“Alright then. Be careful, Mijo. Te amo.” Ramon squeezed Buck’s shoulder.

“Love you too.” Buck stated as he took a step back. 

Ramon waved goodbye and Buck turned to see everyone staring at him.

“What the hell was that?” Chim asked and Buck frowned. 

“What?” Buck asked confused.

“You and Eddie’s dad. You two are close.” Hen muttered with a raised eyebrow.

“Well I would hope so. I’ve been dating his son for over a year.” Buck laughed earning gasp from everyone.

“What?” Buck asked confused. 

“You and Eddie are dating?” Bobby asked in slight awe. 

“Yes? We had you sign the forms for HR...” Buck muttered confused. 

“That’s what that was. I skimmed it...” Bobby blinked and Hen was staring at him.

Chim was rubbing the back of his neck. 

“Right well...I’m going to go take a nap...” Buck said awkwardly walking away. 

“So who wins?” Chim muttered with amusement.

I actually have a prompt idea! I can never think of anything, so I’m excited 😆. It builds on one of prompt stories from today. Okay, dangerous situation of your choice where Buck shields Eddie in some way. Eddie is mad/upset but Buck points out that if Christopher had to lose someone it would be better to lose Buck because Eddie is his legal parent and if anything happened to Eddie, Buck wouldn’t have any legal rights to step in and be his parent. Leading to meaningful conversation...

Buck and Eddie had been in some rough situations before but this one takes the cake. A drunk with a head injury and a loaded gun was by far not the best situations. Especially, when the gun was aimed at Eddie. So Buck did what he always did, he reacted without thinking. He jumped in front of Eddie and waited for the pain of bullets piercing through his body but it never came. He opened one eye to see the man pulling at the trigger aggressively and the little click-clicks sounds the gun made went straight to his stomach. Athena burst into action knocking the man to the ground. Buck could feel Eddie's fingers gripping into his hip and shoulder. Buck smirked as Athena cuffed the man and turned to face Eddie.

"Justice preveils!" Buck held up a hand for a high five but was met by the coldest glare Eddie had ever sent his way.

"Or not?" Buck asked confused as Eddie shouldered passed him roughly.

"What just happened?" Buck asked Bobby who had just come up to check on him.

"You nearly took a dozen bullets for him, Kid. Of course, he is pissed off." Bobby shook his head with a sigh.

"Pissed off? I should be getting a thank you and a hug!" Buck grumbled and Bobby frowned.

"Jesus, Buck... You really can be dense sometimes." Bobby patted his shoulder.

The ride back was awkward and uncomfortable. Eddie was glaring holes into the floor of the truck. Once they pulled in, Eddie left in a hurry slamming the door. Buck went to follow but Hen stopped him.

"Give him time to cool off, Buckaroo." Hen muttered and Buck frown.

"Hen's right. Talking to him now, won't do either of you any good." Chim nodded.

Buck huffed. After an hour passed of Eddie moping in the bunk room Buck had enough. He walked in to find Eddie curled up on a bunk. Buck sat down next to his legs.

"Bobby's making his famous cheese burgers you like..." Buck tried but Eddie grunted and kicked his side.

"Piss off." Eddie grumbled and Buck sighed.

"The fuck is your problem?" Buck asked in annoyance.

"The fuck were you thinking! Had the safety been off you would be dead! Buck, dead!" Eddie growled lifting himself on his elbows.

"But it was on. No one got hurt. Why focus on what could have happened, when everything turned out fine." Buck shrugged.

"You can't do shit like that!" Eddie hissed.

Buck glared. "I've got your back..."

Buck stopped as Eddie slammed a hand against the wall.

"That's not what that means!" Eddie growled and Buck winced.

"What was I supposed to do? Let you get shot? Think about Christopher! He already lost his mom. If he loses you what happens? I love Tia Pepa and Abuelita but they don't have the energy to look after him. Shipping him back to Texas to live with your parents would be horrible. I love your parents but the best school for kids with CP is here in LA. The teachers know him. Plus Carla is here. And with your parents being retired they can't afford all the things Chris needs. Think Eddie! Chris needs you." Buck explained frantically and Eddie frowned.

"I know all that. Exactly why that if sometime happens to me, you are to receive all legal guardianship of Christopher. I mean I still need you to sign a few papers..." Eddie trailed off.

Buck stared wide eyed at him.

"What?" Buck whispered.

"I told you before. The only person I trust with my son...truly trust is you. You know exactly what he needs. How do you think I do this job everyday? I wouldn't be able to if I didn't know at the end of the day that if something were to happen you would be there for my son. Buck come on... I know you would raise him to be a great man...just like you are." Eddie told him firmly.

"Are you trying to get me to cry, you asshole." Buck teared up with a small smile.

"Buck... If I lost you...I would lose my mind. I would even be able to tie my shoes in the morning let alone get out of bed. So please for my own sanity just think before you act." Eddie mumbled.

Buck frowned... "I'm about to do something without thinking..." Buck whispered and Eddie furrowed his brows.

Buck leaned in and kissed him. Eddie froze before pulling him down onto him.

They came out an hour later. Bobby stared at them and sighed before pulling out a file.

"Sign here and here." Bobby pointed to the form.

"What are we signing?" Buck asked confused.

"Relationship within the workforce forms for HR." Bobby stated and they both blinked.

"That's a hell of a hickey, Buck." Chim whistled.
