We’ve rarely, if ever, seen genuine laughter from Carmilla, but she’s laughing now. Not smirking, or scoffing, or chuckling but laughing. And it’s because of Laura. Just look at the last gif she’s still laughing and she only stops once Will comes back in the room. Carmilla’s so smitten she’s just like oh my God I didn’t think you could get any more adorable but you attacked and caught a vampire by surprise and you are so tiny but mighty I knew I was gone when the puppets made me smile but this. That’s it, you’re mine I’m keeping you and your yellow pillow.

Nat is cut off from the Prescott fortune and currently works at a yogurt shop, Vincent still has good contact with his mom (Sinclair) and she at least got him a gig at an art gallery

they ran away right after graduation and chloe helped them out, supplying them with the hrt juice

Years later she takes them to the class reunion and everybody is GAGGED (Kate and Warren included)

And Suvi, oh my god, I could write essays about her ever evolving relationship to Steel, perfection, loyalty, family, love. Fortunately, Aabria (@quiddie) has been doing that for me since the beginning of this story, and made sure Suvi remains my favorite character of all time. Ever.

Ok, so you are either part of an international queer community or you're not. If you are, yes those are your people too-- bring focus onto your own national figures, certainly, but the accomplishments of gay and trans people across the board are yours to celebrate and remember as well as part of a shared global heritage. If you're not part of an international community, then don't act like you are. Don't focus on equality and legalization efforts in other parts of the world, don't celebrate their victories or figures, don't learn about history outside of your own country. (And maybe make your own national social media, since seeing June Pride content apparently is so difficult for you!) Why do you even want Pride events, if American ideas and celebrations are so unwelcome-- we started the whole thing! Get your own shtick!

Who's fault is it that you dont know?????? Americans have not purchased all your news outlets and school programs and forced this information underground in favor of highlighting ours. And if we aren't part of some global community, learning about yours isn't something anyone outside of your country would want or need to know about anyway. Share your people, your events, if you're part of the community and want the rest of the world to know! But if you want national queer isolationism then it's entirely your own fault that you all don't know this shit, and having learned about other people's history isn't somehow to blame for your national ignorance.

And if YOUR pride events are already celebrated in February and March, what does that have to do with other people celebrating in June? (Also how does that square with "we should have it in July??") They're too loud? Your businesses want to pick up June too (idk communicate with them then)? Clearly you already have your largest concentration of Pride events outside of June, despite seeming to think June is somehow being forced on you. If you want them in July instead, that's your problem to arrange?? If you want to broadcast alternative national-centric Pride months for yourselves, that's also on you?

"Try searching for your own country and culture's queer history" absolutely, do that, nobody's stopping you. You can do that and learn about other people's too, or you can ignore everyone else and just focus on yourself, but knowing about them doesn't somehow blind you to your own history, nor are foreign communities going to teach it to you.

But pick a fucking struggle, frankly. If you don't want American ideas, then be committed about it. Don't lump yourself into a global community, voluntarily take on traditions communities in other countries started, and then complain about some insidious "evil imperialist influence." America's "negative impact" and "cultural hegemony" is how you got Pride-- if you dont want it, by all means, don't participate. Come up with your own traditions yourself. But glomming onto Pride, taking the accomplishments of the people who brought it into being, taking part in the history and accomplishments of a global community and then bitching about how your own celebrations of it aren't tailored enough to you (which is somehow somebody else's fault) is not only hypocritical and deeply immature-sounding, it's obnoxious.
