keep in mind this disability pride month that not all D/deaf/HOH people can learn sign language. I'm one of these people. I have tried since I was 9 to learn it, but no matter how much I practice, I can't grasp it. My theory as to why is because I can't grasp languages that cannot be read or written.
But all those who can learn sign language, I definitely encourage you to do so!

I guess I wasn't the only person asking about the weights, because 3 issues later DC added blue glow and tripled the size to make them believable for Diana.

We can assume the normal looking ones are enchanted, it's fine, but clearly a lot of us didn't get that and it's nice to have the glowing super-dumbbell to really drive it home.

DC just released the preliminary octobre solicitations, and there's some good stuff in there!
The Absolute Batman annual has some year one expansion and the origin of the bat-dumptruck, that's neato.
DC KO looks like a silly stupid way to reset to the old status quo, no sense in being self serious about undoing the story i guess. Absolute Evil looks good. The core runs like these aren't really why i check solicitations though, I'm gonna hear about these in the back of the books i buy, I'm eager for the final list with all the collected volumes and niche heroes to be announced.

I'm pretty on board with the headcanon that what Link gets out of being the bearer of the Triforce of Courage is the power of being a video game protagonist, but I genuinely can't decide whether it would be funnier if he's 100% aware of how much bullshit his everything is, or if he honestly doesn't realise.

"It's so fucked up women have to do sex work to survive" so trueee it's so fucked up we live in a capitalist society where you need to do work you don't want to do just to be alive. I'm so glad we're talking about ALL the jobs that are forced onto people, especially women, that are full of harassment. Thank God we're not just focusing on jobs that are already heavily stigmatized and shaming women for doing what's necessary to survive, even though every single person has to do that but for some reason it's immoral when it's a stripper instead of a fast food employee

She would not fucking say that. Yes she said that in canon, but I perceive a greater truth unaffected by her writer's misogyny

Saw a fic refer to robin(TD) as 'Camera Tim' and all I could think of was
"average 9 year old takes 30 photos of Batman and Robin a month" factoid is actually a statistical error. average nine year old takes 0 photos of Batman and Robin a month. Camera Tim, who lives in Gotham and takes over 500 photos of B&R each night, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

“a lot of disabilities would impact us significantly less if society would actually accept that we are disabled and try to include us, instead of spending all of their energy trying their best to avoid calling us "disabled" in the first place”
Source: jay_morgan16x on TikTok
[VD: A person sitting on a brown leather couch inside, talks to the camera from a fairly close distance. They have short green hair, facial piercings, tattoos on their arms and collarbones, and they're wearing a black T-shirt with a red Heartbreakers Bar logo on it. Walls, a bookcase, and two computer screens are in the background. A speech bubble appears in the top left to indicate they're responding to a question: 'Reply to jackie.grozinger's comment "dis able or differently able"' /end VD]
Full transcript: (below the cut)
“Um, "dis". Definitely "dis". I am absolutely disabled, not differently-abled. You know the Latin prefix 'dis' meaning 'not'? I am disabled. I am not able to do a lot of things because I have permanent medical conditions that stop me from doing those things.
Things like standing for extended periods of time, or walking long distances, or getting out of the house, or getting out of bed, or feeding myself, or cleaning myself. I am unable to do those things. I am disabled.
In fact, I despise all of the words and phrases that non-disabled people have come up with to try and avoid calling someone "disabled", like "differently-abled" or "special needs". Just ew.
'Disabled' is not a bad word. Being disabled is not some moral failing or inherently bad thing. It is just a neutral part of life that happens to most people.
And in fact, a lot of disabilities would impact us significantly less if society would actually accept that we are disabled and try to include us, instead of spending all of their energy trying their best to avoid calling us "disabled" in the first place.
So, yeah, I am disabled. Absolutely. That is what you call me.”
/end transcript]
