I recently got into the BNHA fantom on a casual-ish level. Like I've watched four seasons, one movie and I've read the first hundred chapters of the manga. I'm not that invested into it, but I started writing a short fic. And I also headcanon Aizawa as aroace(will be important later - I think).
And while I was thinking up ways to introduce a couple of characters early, I had an idea. I really want Shinso and Izuku to be childhood friends, so I began thinking up ways to set up play-dates and shit like that. And then it hit me. He could totally be Midnight's and Present Mic's lovechild.
Just imagine:
                             ~
It's after the sport's festival and the teachers are discussing this year's performances. Midnight and Present Mic are talking about Shinso vs Midoriya because 'the kid could have died there, Nemuri, I don't care how good his brainwashing was' when Aizawa walks by.
"It's like you two decided to reproduce and now the kid is going to school here"
They freeze, staring at each other. Then they start counting, Hizashi even using his fingers. Aizawa just looks at them, unimpressed.
"Even you, Nemuri? You wouldn't forget being pregnant, would you?"
They blush, and the matter is seemingly dropped. Until Aizawa starts mentoring the kid and the other two won't stop glaring at him because "how dare you corrupt our son. Look at him, he's just a baby with anxiety."

I love writing. It's really therapeutic and all that good stuff, but man, to hell with the English language. Compared to Hungarian, which is categorized as one of the hardest languages out there, that bitch is complicated and it can choke. Like, what do you need so many tenses for? To confuse people?
Do you know how many tenses Hungarian has? THREE. Just past, present and future. No fancy-shmancy perfect or continuous or any other horseshit. Sure, there are different forms(to show we had someone else do it ,"I made them do it", or to talk about something we should have done, "I should have told you") but those still don't have any effect on the tense we use.
And while I'm at it, let's fucking bash pronouns too. Why do you need so many and why do they need to be gendered? And again, we just simplified stuff. We don't have any of that "he, she, it, they(singular)/they", just "ő/ők". You can't misgender or confuse or hell knows with these ones. Simple, to the point and won't ruin a whole paragraph if I accidentally use one instead of another. But noooo, Hungarian is complicated and English can get fucked with a mace.

I can’t help but express my gratitude during the hell pit of my exam week because basically I sobbed and ran around after reading your UraIchi headcanon: Princess post and I want to say thank you for that because I’m just feeling so light because it’s a combination of comedy and fluff that feels like I’m eating the most diabetes-inducing dessert in the world. So thank you for sharing a piece of your writing that gave me a bundles of joy today so I wish you well and for you to be safe as well this year!
Thank you so much, dear! 😁
I feel your pain, since my exams are coming up and I feel like my head is empty. But we'll make it!
Hold on tight, good luck with your exams and have a wonderful year!

a lot of you hate historians and archaeologists, and i think that’s a problem
look, i fully recognize that there are reasons to be skeptical of history and archaeology. i am very on board with criticizing academia as an oppressive institution, and the way that researchers take their bigotry and bias with them to their work. i also recognize that academia does a pretty bad job of communicating what it does to the public, and that’s a part of why people’s hostility to it is able to flourish.
but i am disturbed by the pervasive narrative in online leftist spaces that people who research the human past are ignorant and bigoted, and i think we need to do more to combat that narrative.
historians being homophobic has become a whole meme, and it feels like people are just using historians as a homophobia scapegoat, when in reality the humanities are overwhelmingly left-leaning. people also keep blaming historians for erasing the homoeroticism of fictional literary characters, which is just… not what historians do. homophobic biases and erasures in the interpretation of history over the past few hundred years are a very real thing that’s important to learn about, but scholars have radically shifted away from that approach in recent generations, and these memes are not helping people outside the field to understand history and reception. instead, a lot of people are coming away with the impression that…
Tumblr media
(source… really? nobody?)
this thread gets bonus points for the comments claiming that modern historians argue about whether achilles was a top or a bottom using homophobic stereotypes, which i can only guess is a misunderstanding of the erastes/eromenos model (a relationship schema in classical greece; i think people have debated whether achilles and patroclus represent an early version of it). also a commenter claims that the movie troy invented the idea of achilles and patroclus being cousins when no, they were also cousins in lots of ancient sources.
there’s this post about roman dodecahedra (link includes explanation of why the original post is misleading).
there’s this thread about how some thin gold spirals from ancient denmark look exactly like materials used in gold embroidery to this day but archaeologists are stupid and don’t know that because they dont talk to embroiderers enough. in fact, the article says they were most likely used for decorating clothing, whether as a fringe, braided into hair, or embroidered. so the archaeologists in the article basically agree with the post, theyre just less certain about it, because an artifact looking similar to a modern device doesn’t necessarily mean they have identical uses.
this thread has a lot of people interpreting academic nuance as erasure. the museum label literally says that this kind of statue typically depicts a married couple, giving you the factual evidence so you can interpret it. it would be false to say “these two women are married” because there was no gay marriage in ancient egypt. (interpreting nuance as erasure or ignorance is a running theme here, and it points to a disconnect, a public ignorance of how history is studied, that we can very much remedy)
lots of other conspiracy theory-ish stuff about ancient egypt is common in social justice communities, which egyptologists on this site have done a good job of debunking
oh, and this kind of thing has been going around. the problem with it is that there are loads of marginalized academics who research things related to their own lives, and lived experience and rigorous research are different forms of expertise that are both valuable.
so why does this matter?
none of these are isolated incidents. for everything i’ve linked here, there are examples i havent linked. anti-intellectualism, especially against the humanities, is rampant lately across the political spectrum, and it’s very dangerous. it’s not the same as wanting to see and understand evidence for yourself, it’s not the same as criticizing institutions of academic research. it’s the assumption that scholars are out to get you and the perception that there is no knowledge to be gained from thorough study. that mindset is closely connected to the denial of (political, scientific, and yes historical) facts that we’ve been seeing all around us in recent years.
on a personal note, so many marginalized scholars are trying to survive the dumpster fire of academia because we care that much about making sure the stories that are too often unheard don’t get left out of history… and when that’s the entire focus of my life right now, it’s disheartening to see how many of my political allies are just going to assume the worst about the entire field

My brain is fried and my humor is gone, so no wonder I had a Revelation while aimlessly staring at YouTube. A Revelation like no other.
My boy Allen Walker, the unwilling host of the 14th and sexiest clown ever drawn, is a cat. A stray cat that got adopted by Mana and weaponized by the Order.
That's it. That's the post. Good night. Tip the waiters on the way out.

"Hellfire"
He watched her as she danced, mesmerized by the etherealness of it. The bonfire behind her was blazing, casting her in a strange glow. The shadows were moving around her, dancing with her to a music that seemed to come from everywhere at once.
The trees also seemed to move around with her, golden and rusted leaves dancing in the wind, sometimes being blown into the fire.
The atmosphere shifted as the rhythm picked up, and the dancers started moving faster. He watched her, skirt moving around her legs like water and long red hair trailing after her like a dragon. For a moment, he locked eyes with her, and his breath caught in his throat. They were blazing, full of life and passion. This was her element, and he was only invited to watch this otherworldly creature.
It was nearing midnight, and the dancers were only getting faster and faster. Soon, she was only a moving blurr of green and red against a backdrop of flames. The drumbeat reached into his core, and he found himself joining the singers in a song ancient and almost forgotten. His flame was now holding hands with the others, bare feet kicking against still green grass and barely-there flowers.
It was time. The fire picked up, looking like it could reach the heavens and scortch the feathers of angels. She rushed to him and pulled him up from the grass with a softly whispered "It's time". He joined her in the dance, twirling her around the fire. The heat was stange against his skin, and yet, somehow he could still feel the coldness of the autumn night around them. It was intoxicating. He could understand why she enjoyed dancing around on nights with full moon to a beat almost no one remembered anymore. This was more primal than any other dance he'd ever tried, and still, it felt like it was more graceful than a waltz.
His eyes widened when he saw fire sweeping out of her eyes. He reached out to touch her, his hands aflame. She started laughing, and every concern evaporated from his mind. This was part of the experience. He held his hands up, laughing with her, and started moving again. A maddened frenzy overtook them, and he felt like he'd be able to dance with the devil and still walk away unharmed.
Shapes started to bleed into eachother and everything was either red or orange unless he was looking at her. Eventually, he felt like his body wasn't even his anymore, and the world started becoming black at the edges. He reached out, pulling her into his embrace, and they both fell to the ground when darkness finally came for him.
He woke up to the sounds of birds singing in the trees with her still asleep in his arms. It was time to go home.
The shower curtain also had birds and trees on it and the lighting was similar to a fire. The water should have been boiling hot, but he strangely couldn't feel it. He held his hands out, and concentrated on the feeling of flames dancing around his skin. He closed his eyes in frustration when nothing came to him, only to open them when he heard her gasp in shock.
"It never happened to me before. They only appear when we're dancing." She kneeled down next to the tub, carefully reaching out to his hands. Her movements came to a halt when the orange flames were close to burning her. "I guess you're special..." She smiled at him, red hair falling around her face like a waterfall.
He smiled back, trying to calm down his breathing. His hands were surrounded the same mystical flames from the night before

Shane: I think we can call this place another win for the Shaniacs!
Ryan: Then why did a random, floating fire start in the middle of the room when you were taunting the demon?
Shane: Faulty wiring.

I was trying to find a good enough picture of what I imagined Lucifer to look like. And then I cleaned out my sketchbook and found a gem. It's not perfect, I can't, for the life of me, remember where I got this model, but here she is. The closest I can come to Lucifer.

My OCs and OOCs
I think it's time to give a bit of an explanation on the characters in some of my AUs. I want to start posting content involving them, and I don't think I can do that without an explanation. Every single one of the posts concerning these characters will share a tag with this post, and I'll try to post disclaimers.
So, here's the list:
First off, we have Horus and Lucifer, my OCs. They are retired assassins, who gained powers when the organization they worked for experimented on them. They rebelled, lead by Lucifer, destroyed the organization, and now are on an inter-dimensional fieldtrip
Lucifer was inspired by the Cheshire Cat. At their very nature, they are a cloud with powers that connects dimensions together
They can act around only in the perimeters given to them by the Fates
They have shape shifting abilities and can bend the dimension they are at their will. Any other power they have, like rapid healing, electricity control, full control of their body and the immortality of their body(unless completely incinerated and destroyed) is due to a microchip that they don't always possess
Usually female, because it's easier to blend in and go unnoticed. But they can't have children
You could say they are my 'Mary Sue'. And in a way, yes. Lucifer is the ultimate Mary Sue, who can adapt to any fandom/dimension, because they need a body from that world to enter it, but I don't really like centering the story around how their love life with the main character would look like
Horus is much simpler. He's just the Egyptian god, in a human body
He most often loves Lucifer, sex, and the unsuspecting person who helps him get over losing Lucifer
Except my Bleach Au, where he's a Zanpakuto
Naruto AU
Horus and Lucifer adopt Naruto, Hinata, Sai, Kakashi, Anko, Iruka, Yamato and a still alive Shin
Naruto and Horus should have been one and the same, just like Shikamaru and Lucifer, but due to a fuckup, now they only share some powers
Naruto is a smart little charmer who is his mother's pride and joy and a little leader
Hinata's hero was the woman who glared her bio father into submission and took her into the family at the tender age of three, so she turned into a badass who takes no shit
Sai is laidback, like his father, and is the calming presence in the Terrifying Trio
Kakashi is the protective older brother who would do anything for his family. He's the asexual who reads porn in public and usually gets his ass handed to him by Iruka
Iruka got adopted when he tried to vandalize a nearby shop. He's gone through some shit that left him as bloodthirsty as the rest of the family, but he hides it well
Anko came for dinner, and never left. That's it. And now she's even more into poisons, and she also set fire to a washing machine once
Shin is Hinata's trolling partner and Temari's loyal boyfriend. He'll also kill you with a smile on his face
Yamato is the only relatively normal one of the bunch. He also wears his headband like that because he tried to commit suicide by bashing his head into things one too many times. He thinks he's surrounded by pyromaniac, deadly idiots
Svtfoe AU
Tom has an aunt that turns out to be the angel of death
Marco is the true heir of Mewni due to ~shenanigans~
They get together(Tomco), while I try to cram in as many Angel's and demons as I can
Bleach Au
Lucifer doesn't have a microchip
At nineteen, she gets it on with a seventeen year old powerless Ichigo, helping each other out
They later add Urahara to their relationship
I made Urahara's backstory even worse, if that's possible
Gravity falls AU
Coming soon

UraIchi headcanon: Princess
Vaguely set after Ichigo gets his powers back
We all know Shiro/Zangetsu is a bastard of the highest caliber out there
So, when he finds out what Urahara's zanpakutō is called, he loses his shit
From that day on, he refuses to call him anything other than variations of 'Princess'
Ichigo is ready to brain himself on the nearest wall
But he doesn't dare complain about his hollow's antics to anyone, lest Urahara finds out
He still finds out
From Ichigo himself
He has a long day at school and is exhausted from training/sparring
Urahara tells him that he could spend the night there
'Maybe next time, Princess'
both of them freeze, Shiro is loosing his shit
'MyHollowcallsyouthatSorryDon'tkillmeBye' and with that, he skedaddles outta there faster than he thinks he's capable
Urahara is still frozen
A week(maybe?) later Ichigo dares to go back
He regrets it immediately
Urahara nearly throws himself at him, fake-crying and calling him his “knight in shining armor”
Urahara Kisuke, troll extraordinaire, fully embraced being Ichigo's princess and refuses to respond to any other name the teen calls him, even if it's his given name
Cue the chaos when people first find this out
Yoruichi is the first, because Ichigo didn't know she'd be at the Shouten when he returns(He didn't want witnesses to his imminent death)
Just like Shiro, Yoruichi is also rolling along the floor, laughing
Later she tells Kūkaku everything over drinks, and Soul Society finds out from that
Ichigo is trying to find a way to ciese existing. Or to skip dimensions, no matter how psychotic the people he finds there are(the Quincy are startled when Yhwach starts sneezing)
It garners mixed reactions
Some people flat out don't believe it, or just don't care
Others consider Ichigo to have balls of steel. After all, he's still alive and kicking in the human world
Renji drags Rukia over there because he has to see it with his own eyes(“Don't you mean hear?””Shut it, Rukia”)
Ichigo's friends find out by hearing him call Kisuke that. So do the Vizards
Hiyori thinks she's dreaming. And that the bastard doesn't deserve the nickname
Shinji tries to also call Kisuke 'Princess'
Keyword being 'tries'
Only Ichigo is allowed to call him that
The rest of the Kurosaki family think Ichigo gt a girlfriend
Cue Isshin's heart attack when he finds out who exactly Ichigo's Princess is
Also cue Ichigo beating his ass when he tries to parent him
There are more misunderstandings along the line
Everyone realizes they are as good as married. Except the two in question
Kisuke eventually finds out Shiro calls Ichigo 'King'
Ichigo feels so done with everything and everyone, he doesn't even blink when Kisuke starts calling him 'Your Highness'
“For fuck's sake, keep it in the bedroom, Kurosaki!””Shut your trap, Abarai”
The Quincies and Yhwach happen, and finally, those two realize they have feelings for each other(The others start to celebrate that too, besides the war. They have been waiting for this for what seemed like YEARS)
