The sunlight beams into my eyes early in the morning, and I turn over to find you sleeping like a puppy with your mouth slightly open and the blanket tossed aside. I snuggle into your arms, listening to your heartbeat and feeling your breath on my skin. I nuzzle my face into the crook of your neck, completing the puzzle of us. You instinctively pull me closer with your thigh and murmur, 'Good morning.' No matter how long I sleep, it's only in those precious eight minutes after waking up in your embrace that my mind truly finds peace. You protect me from the demons that haunt my dreams, rescuing me from the torment of my own thoughts.
