I figured I might as well finish this all off with the last time I ever truly drew these two, and it was when I finally made their reference sheets, whoops… Here you can see that Vona, later in life, had gotten body tattoos to cover all the places she had scars.

Hopefully after making these posts I’ll return to drawing them, because I sincerely adore them.

This was a project I had for Image Manipulation in my first year of college. I had to take some lyrics from a song provided by the teacher (which I of course chose the Beatles song “In My Life”) , and give a visual interpretation of what I picture when I hear those lyrics.

This was my interpretation, Jon’s life through colors: primary, secondary, rainbow, and it all seemed to grow dimmer and dimmer until he felt lost in darkness… Until clarity came to him in the form of a friend and loved one: Vona.

During the QnA, I decided to look up Arin Hanson to see exactly how similar he and Jon were in appearance, and wowie was I in for a surprise.

This even led to my love for Game Grumps, and in that, I discovered how much Suzy Berhow reminded me of how I envision Vona to look in real life.

But drawing it wasn’t enough. I needed to see it be REAL.

So I made my first photo manipulation. Some errors here and there, but whatever, it’s Suzy as Vona! ^-^

And then I couldn’t get over how Arin and Suzy are both how I envision Jón and Suzy to look in real life.

Just something about colors. They’re everywhere. And I can’t stop noticing them. They must be acknowledged, to remind themselves of their own existence, and to remind others. And I feel it so strongly but I can’t form it into words. So the paint helps.

Made this in 2014. Lyrics are from the Beatles song “Strawberry Fields Forever”.

Jón’s special interest is with painting. Not so much with art, but with the action. To splatter paint or brush it against a blank canvas or wall, and then seeing the final product of various colors all around him, something about it all that he has enjoyed since he was very little.

Listening to Paul McCartney’s song “Maybe I’m Amazed” and applying it to both of these characters solidified their friendship as an eventual romance for me, and one of the purest form of absolute trust.

I couldn’t get these two out of my head, and felt sad that their story wouldn’t be able to take place within the same timeline as the rest of my story for International Idiots since Jon was canonically suppose to be a child. So I made the decision to rewrite Jón as a teenager instead, so that I could take off faster with their story… which I still haven’t written or worked out as of yet… along with the whole of International Idiots >_>;

But even still, these two are probably my favorite characters I have ever created, hell I even cried over them at one point. Their love forms from a slow burn, but once it’s lit, it’ll never die out.

I want to share my old art of a few characters of mine. This is Kristján and his little brother, Jón, both born and raised in Iceland. They are characters of a story of mine called International Idiots, which looks into the lives of six friends who live in different counties over the world, one of them being Kris, a very lively individual who manages to pump out so much positive energy every day of his life.

Originally, Jón was to be the youngest in his family, the drawings hear are from 2013 and early 2014. He has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), which made socializing and communicating very difficult for him, to the point that a doctor warned his parents that he might never socially develop. Kris, concerned for his little brother, makes an effort to ensure he is always happy and comfortable when they’re together. But then, in April of 2014, I wondered what kind of life Jón would live as a teenager. So I created a character that would be able to understand and gently ease Jón out of the world built in his head to try new things. That someone was Vona.

Vona came from a very harsh past that left her hopeless and distrusting, with emotional and phyiscal scars that forced her to become independent. After experiencing a breakup that left her seeing herself in a new light, she decided to move out into a quieter town to start a new life.

Both her and Jón were outcasts from the rest of the town. Vona was reclusive and emotionally distant, as was Jón, which somehow managed to bring them together.

They didn’t understand one another at first, but with each interaction she started to read Jón’s behavior better, as well as a chat with his older brother. What started as casually sitting near one another would lead to attempts at awkward small chat (although Vona was the only one to perceive it as such, not Jón), meaningful exchanges, and eventually invites to join the other in new locations, something neither had ever done in years (or in Jón’s case, ever).

The rest of my version of (Supernatural) angels before I lost the fixation.

I wanted to share all these cuz I hope to return to these angel designs separately from the spn fandom. Maybe incorporate more biblically accurate details.
