       Daniel, always full of surprises. Where the hell did he get all the confidence? To pull them so close, to linger only a few inches away from them, to whisper such a statement to them? Kaoru was an expert at flirting. They were charming, romantic, an excellent actor but when it came down to real feelings, all their training flew out the window. 

       They were frozen in place for a few seconds, feeling so vulnerable in his hold, waiting for their brain to turn back on. And, when the gears finally started moving again, they met his gaze. You’re giving him too much power. “ …Then, do it. ”

That was all he really needed. He waited, for just a moment, before pulling them in so close that they were pressed up against each other. He only spoke oen simple sentence before he moved in.

“As you wish.”

Once those words left his lips, he pressed them against Kaoru’s, holding them close with that arm around their waist. It wasn’t a hard kiss, but it wasn’t exactly a gentle one either. He wanted to make sure they felt it.. and he certainly wanted to make sure they wouldn’t forget it any time soon.

       Kaoru was ready to go into detail about the club. Usually when people asked them about it, they had a different definition. For some reason, it was important for Daniel to know what they were up to in Music Room #3. They didn’t want him to think that other things were going on.

       But, the explanation quickly left their brain when his hand rested on their cheek. The kiss making everything worse. The moment he moved back, they felt the heat rise to their face. “ …What if I want payback for the payback? ” Their hand extended out and rested on his chest, their grip on his shirt growing a little tighter. “ Can I kiss you? ” The question was enough to turn their cheeks a brighter red. “ Y’know, your cheek. I meant, your cheek. ”

Daniel couldn’t help the smirk that formed on his face when they asked that question. His arm slid around their waist, pullling them closer to him, their faces inches apart. His emerald eyes shone brightly as he stared into theirs.

“..What if I wanted to kiss you somewhere else?” His voice was low, wanting to keep Kaoru’s focus on him. If they said no then he’d let it go, but.. he wouldn’t complain at all about kissing them.

       “ Yeah. Noted. ” They wouldn’t do that again. Kaoru should have known better. People had boundaries. Even if they considered Daniel a friend ( maybe ), it didn’t mean they had permission to kiss his cheek. “ Oh, yeah. It’s my fourth year in the club. We entertain the students at our school. It’s pretty fun. ”

Daniel was half listening. A host club was somethin else, something he wasn’t exactly familiar with. He knew what they did, sure, but.. Kaoru’s probably wasn’t that. At least.. he hoped so.

But he had something else on his mind. He put a hand on the other’s cheek, and pressed a kiss to their other cheek. “Payback.” He commented.

       Not the reaction they expected. They messed up. “ Sorry. ” Kaoru rubbed the back of their neck and sighed, “ Would you believe me if I said I was practicing? For The Host Club. Y’know, learning new flirting techniques. ”

“I-.. oh..” Well this was awkward. “I.. well, yeah, no that’s fine then..” Whew. Dodged a bullet there. “Just.. warn me, next time, yeah?” This was awkward, wasn’t it? Daniel cleared his throat. “You’re.. part of a host club?”

       Mirabel stumbled forward, arms raising, confident that she could catch the extremely tall man and help him stay upright. But, before she could even reach him, he was back down, which meant she had to lower herself to his level. “ You’re stubborn, huh? ” The girl sighed as she crouched down with a caring hand extended out to him. “ Let me help you. ”

       As she waited for a response, she tilted her head and thought of a Plan B. And, the second that a lightbulb turned on in that mind of hers, she jumped up and smiled. “ You know what? Stay here. Don’t move. I’ll be right back! ” With a good hold on her bag, she scurried away into Casita and ran to the kitchen for a meal. It took some convincing and a lot of avoiding her mother’s questions, but when she finally had her hand on an arepa, she ran back out. 

       Hopefully, he was still hanging around. “ Hey guy! Take a bite outta this! ”

Daniel knew he would regenerate soon enough. He didn’t want anyone to see that, but she was persistent. “You’re calling me stubborn?” He couldn’t help but laugh. “Sounds like you’re not much batter, huh?” Of course, before he could object she was gone.. he let out a sigh.

“Damn kids these days..”

He at least managed to sit up. His broken leg had healed, and he slowly started to stand. That didn’t take long, but some of the deeper wounds hidden under his armor were still very present. He had to focus his energy on standing, before that. So she would find him there.. standing, instead of on the floor. “What’s this?” He took it from her and looked it over.

“Oh, yo, arepa? This is good stuff.” Was this homemade? That must have been where she went, right? Food would help his regeneration greatly. This kid was about to see something amazing, that’s for sure... He bit into it, or.. more like shoved it into his mouth and ate it like a wild, hungry wolf. It wasn’t long before his wounds began closing, and he let out a sigh of relief. “Man.. that hit the spot.”

“Yeah.. yeah, shoelaces.” Nevermind the fact that he was wearing boots that didn’t even have laces. He let out a groan as he propped himself up. Argon wasn’t giving off any warning signs.. hell, she was just a kid- but then again.. even kids her age could be dangerous. His mind wandering to his fire breathing sister..

“Ah, I don’t think that’ll.. agh.. be necessary.. thanks, though.” He pushed himself up onto his feet, before almost immediately stumbling and taking a dive, letting out a wince of pain. “Fuck!” He grumbled. “That’s.. broken.. I think.” 

What a day. “Listen, kid, you should probably just run home. I’m good here. I swear.”

"Oh, am I now?" The vampire stood up a bit straighter, eyeing the man who was claiming this as his territory.

"That's quite funny.. I've been here for a week now. It took you quite a while to find out I was here.. your territory must be quite large."
