What inspired you to start this story?

I had been discouraged from doing art for a while. I just. Guess I didn't have that inspiration? After I ended up losing JustACuriousLycanroc, I slowed down my art making for mainly just ArtFight or little projects.

I had been a bit unfocused on Rain World for a long time, until about 4 or 5 months ago, when I came across a few fun designs of Anthro Slugcats! A lot of them. I don't remember which specific ones got my fancy, but then I started looking at everything in a different light, I guess. Really got into Rain World!

And I had a bit of an idea already, for a long time, about how other creatures experience Rain World, what they see, how they feel, how they act. Slugcats couldn't be the ONLY aware ones, could they? Or maybe they were, or maybe... there's a different answer.

This comic follows that "Different answer," sorta. I found myself asking questions about the lore that I thought would never be answered, and that I could just make up answers for.

It was like a cascade of realization, that I had set up a long time ago. The desire to do art, the slight interest in Rain World, lore and ideas, the final straw was just realizing that I could draw anthro-style Rain World and NOT feel ashamed or alone in it? Because once I started reblogging all those designs Tumblr fed me a LOT MORE--

It felt comforting, and that gave me the confidence to just. Channel energy into my idea.

So, uh. Thanks to @lonerlikeswaffles and @a-rabid-snake. Guess those designs really... inspired me to do my own stuff!
