probably the cringest idea in history but someone should like make villager news but scavengers...

-there could be this whole episode on when artificer rocks up -an entire one about this one persistent vulture attacking a toll -one about moon and like this one guy throws a spear at her and they go on a whole manhunt through shoreline -this one delusional scav who speaks of a place with no rain (outer expanse) and his big long fucking journey to it and he gets killed at the karma gate -sky islands. -rare sighting of the mythical train lizard -the shaded citadel monster (miros bird) in every episode they'd be talking and then "HOLY SHIT IS THAT AN OVERSEER" at some point

Hi! I'm somewhat new to the blog and was wondering, how the Scav-King managed to change Artis Mind after all what happend? Also are she gonna adopt new Kids at some point if she feels ready?

hello! dont worry, you haven't missed much, lol

the simple answer is, he didn't change her mind; she changed her mind on her own. all he did was give her the chance. all the other scavengers hated her because she hated them, which is fair. but the scav king could see that her hatred was coming from a place of grief, so he pretty much let her take her rage out on him until she was ready to let go of it.

and yeah, i think she will end up adopting eventually. but it will take a while before she's comfortable with the idea of being a mother again. she has a very strong maternal instinct, so she instinctively wants to take care of every child she sees, but she doesn't trust herself to be able to protect them. she 100% blames herself for letting her pups die, and now that she's not distracting herself by diverting that blame onto random scavengers, she has to actually face her guilt and work through it.

i imagine that children naturally flock to her like stray cats though, so that will probably help. whether she likes it or not.

“average slugcat kills 3 scavengers a year” factoid actually just statistical error. average slug kills 0 scavs a year. Fratricide Artificer, who kills over 10,000 scavengers each day, is an outlier and should not have been counted

i feel a very important thing about scavs is their eyes

thinking abt artificer getting along with scavengers, and i realized something: in the dream where the blue pup stopped to take the pearl, arti never paid for toll passage. she just walked right through it like she owned the place. and unless she really had no idea how scavengers work ( which is extremely unlikely), this means one of two things:

1. she trespassed, in which case the scavs would have aggroed on her regardless of whether her pup took the pearl or not, or

2. she had high enough reputation that she was allowed to pass tolls for free

so, now im thinking that not only could she potentially get along with them, but the extent of her hatred is probably because she used to be in good terms with them. it wasnt just about her pups' death-- it was about betrayal. the scavengers were her friends. she knew them, she trusted them, she thought her pups were safe around them. but a few stingy assholes betrayed her trust over a single pearl, and she decided that if they arent willing to show the slightest amount of mercy, then neither is she.
