just woke up from a dream where mr. beast just uploaded a video doing random on the street style interviews. he was asked if he watches Splatoon youtubers. he was like 'you know i like putting on a rassicas video every now and then'. I get pinged about this by everyone. Gaming news outlets put out articles about it. check my TL and the Splatoon community was going nuts and baffled by the mere fact this husk of a man likes splatoon and specifically lore for some reason. Of course i was Shocked to hear this too but also like 'wait i dont want people to think im associated with mr beast or asked him to say this' and i open youtube and i had immediately lost 30k subscribers

I think enough time has passed for me to not accidentally spoil @sucrostorm or anyone else by posting this, so here's some more additional graphic design I did for Moonlit Thieves. Some additional context for Inaba in the Mixtape AU below, if you'd like!

The subprefecture of Yasoinaba had always been known for its early autumns. For all of recorded history, its unique microclimate had caused the leaves to turn a full month earlier than any of its neighboring regions, and for the season of autumn to last an abnormally long amount of time even as the rest of Honshu set to winter.

This odd phenomenon had never fully been explained by science, and Yasoinaba's resulting oddities made it a hotspot for occult and religious activity. Many theories exist as to why exactly this is, with some theorizing that Yasoinaba is a meeting place for the gods, an attractor field for Yokai and other spirits, or even the entrance to the Underworld where Izanami is said to have been trapped eons ago.

Whatever the answer, everything changed in 2012. On an early February day, Yasoinaba experienced an inexplicable climactic shift. Trees that had gone barren with the snow suddenly sprouted to life, the colours of autumn reborn in an instant for no discernible reason. From that day forward Yasoinaba's abnormal microclimate became even stranger, gripping the town in an eternal autumn. Though temperatures continued to rise and fall, and weather patterns continued with rain and snow at their usual times, Yasoinaba's trees had somehow become ever-golden, growing and shedding their leaves at impossible speeds to maintain the unending autumn evermore.

Though subject to immense scientific and theological study at the time, as ever no results were forthcoming. Yasoinaba's strange tendencies remained as ever impossible to explain, and though the fervour sparked by the sudden change has since faded, Yasoinaba and it's primary settlement of Inaba remain a popular pilgrimage for scientists and occultists the world over who have come to draw their own conclusions about the truth of the region.
