a weekend away and plenty more theatre trips, PLUS A LITTLE SHOP REVIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT this has been another exiting month! can't believe I still haven't forgotten to doodle every day! 😅

A trip to the Menier Chocolate Factory theatre to see Dracula a comedy of terrors! 🦇

From a bucket list theatre to a show I've wanted to see for years... a trip to Dracula a comedy of terrors HAD to be done! Dracula first permiered off-broadway in 2023, and the Menier Chocolate Factory theatre played Little Shop of Horrors in 2006 before transferring to a westend stage (the Duke of York theatre) the following year.

So the first thing I found SUPER COOL was due to construction work we all had to use stage door! Barry James (westends original Seymour lmao) has used this door I was FREAKING out! I also found it SUPER fun how little the programmes have changed in almost 20 years!

The theatre also had LOADS of things from all the older show! (Even a couple bits I have in my personal collection 🤭).

The show was FANTASTIC- topped off by meeting the cast afterwards! A new favourite of mine AND new favourite theatre!

Now just got to get round the rest of the Littls Shop theatres! 🌼

I set my new years resolution to get back into art (l'm still facing burn out from the GCSEs I swear) and though this would be a fun way to document my year! each doodle has something to do with my day :)

I had a comment asking about my costumes! So I thought I would make a post about it! (There's A LOT of Little Shop of Horrors, hehe) 🌼

So prewarning, I'm just a little obsessed with Audrey, and how her wardrobe choices reflect her character development- leading me to recreate some of her costumes! 😍

So this started with some simple adjustments of preexisting dresses to make her leopard print and little black dress looks.

Though for a more complex project- I also made her wedding dress and apron completely from scratch!

But Audrey's not the only character! I've also made Orins dentits uniform!

But I promise my works not ONLY little shop 😅 I've also made other things like masks, puppets, and historical fashion!!!

I was very exited to see the eclipse due to this hyperfixation!

So I was just about to, ya know, go out and take a look!

When suddenly, and without warning

There was... nothing?

I couldn't see the eclipse from where I live 😭 I have however heard that a lot of other people found some rather strange and unusual plants on that day... wonder if they will ever make their way over here 🤔 (world domination heehee) I made sure to watch Little Shop of Horrors to say on theme instead!
