“good morning, i made breakfast while you were asleep.”

it was a pleasant to wake up to kazutora’s soft and soothing voice in the morning, like a gentle breeze of wind kissing your skin awake. the faint smell of freshly cooked eggs came to your senses and you wake up to the pretty sight of kazutora. he doesn’t seem like he got much sleep. yet he smiles at you.

“didn’t think you’d wake up any time soon,” he comments, getting back into bed with you with his arms wrapping themselves around your waist. he had a particular smell that you couldn’t quite put a finger on, but it was a pleasant one. reminded you of home. “i kind of missed you. while you were sleeping.”

“sleep didn’t treat you well, did it?” you ask him, fingers threading through his long locks. it wasn’t old news, however, that kazutora had troubles sleeping. he was quiet at first but he shakes his head. “what’s your record?”

“two hours, i think,” he answers almost immediately. “that’s me thrashing around trying to actually sleep though. but enough about me, get out of bed!”

he doesn’t waste any time and he begins pulling you up from the warm, comfortable feeling your bed offers. you get up, putting on the slippers beside your bed to follow kazutora to the kitchen, a table covered with food. “it’s breakfast, not a feast!”

“hey, we’re both eating well,” kazutora defended, pulling the chair out for you to sit in. you couldn’t help but giggle at kazutora’s way of making breakfast, it always seemed like he was feeding 15 people in one household. “it’s good practice, for the future of the both of us.”

it wasn’t old news that kazutora wanted his own family, but the soft smile on his face tells a completely different narrative. “one day,” he said. “one day.”
