Art dump

With so many dragons

I'm really having a lot of fun with this glow in the dark canvas kind of art style, it just combines a lot of my favourite parts when it comes to drawing and it's a really fun art style to turn to when I want to draw something with less pressure/detail

Also messing around with a lot of dragon designs for a couple of my OCs - Aziath, Ray and Ajana

My brain has been itching for more shaped/creature designs lately so it's been fun to mess around with that with these designs

Rambles about their story under the cut

Their story has changed a lot throughout the years and even repurposed them for a school project

But for a small summary of the idea that I have for the story so far Robin (character with the long curly hair) just got a job at a newly opened coffee shop in a nearby town. As he tries to adjust to this new life, he begins to notice that this town is hiding something more sinister. And if that wasn't enough he begins to be haunted by ghosts that don't have the best intentions in mind, which might be connected to the strange happenings in town.

As for Noah, he was a frequent visitor to the coffee shop where Robin worked. An avid fan of the paranormal and having lived his whole life in the small town, he was familiar with the strange occurrences that happened, and he took an interest in them by researching and investigating them during his free time. Something that would end up being useful to explain Robin's situation.

They would also develop feelings for each other at some point in the story :'3

Dragonsssssss

My brain has been fixated on this for the past week

The first two are some concept designs for Evdokyia (Cicada Goddess's) dragon form (since her original form is a dragon she just usually prefers to take a more human like form and I just never really had a design for the dragon one) plus a rough concept design idea of Ray's full dragon form would look like if he had one

Which leads me to the other slides, with half dragon Rayyyyy:))))

Still messing around with the concept, but my idea was given the circumstances that he got his powers through it would make sense for him to acquire some dragon features, but not be able to fully turn into a dragon as like, for example, Kira. And here I was mainly trying to see how the cicada and dragons features would mix, as I'm still not sure how far to lean into either direction :')

Got obsessed with the song and did this animatic in 3 days, and it's the second time I've tried to animate a fight scene. I'm really proud of how it turned out in the end :))

Their design has changed a lot since their first proper redesign from 2024 (and even more since their first ever design)

I'm really happy with how it has evolved since then, and can't wait to see how it'll continue to develop as I figure out their character more :))

And funnily enough I'm working on yet another redesign, and exploring some concepts that I've had in mind for some time (including those from the recent post and some other ideas that I have yet to draw), so it'll be fun to see where that takes me :)

Big Rue art dump :,D

Lots of concept doodles for a small redesign that I'm planning to give them, as well as some others of Rue with their family.

I've been doing research when it comes to defining what hairstyle they're gonna have in the story. I haven't completely decided, but I'm considering giving them locs :)

On the fourth drawing, I did some concept drawings of what their hair would look like throughout the different stages (and throughout the story) of her having her locs. I'm quite happy with how it turned out, although I still need to research and practice drawing the hair more.

In the second, third and sixth drawings, I'm messing around some more with this idea of him having locs.

The first and third doodles with Rue's dad doing their hair since I imagine that he was the one who usually took care of it growing up, until Rue started to do it on their own. Rue is more tender-headed and doesn't like/trust when other people touch their hair much, so they really only trust their dad to do the hairstyles if they want/need help, as over the years, he was the only one who was able to do it carefully without causing Rue much discomfort.

In the last drawing, I've been considering redesigning Rue's scar and trying to incorporate the magic aspect in some way as a contributor to the healing process.

Fun fact: I used a drawing of the rue plant from an art book I had as a reference for the overall shape of the scar :)) I'm gonna work on it more as I'm still not completely happy with how it is, but I'm liking the direction that it's heading so far.
