HC where Shen Yuan reason to be this feminine is because pre-transmigration, while not suffering from lacking anything he was kinda neglected.

Which lead with Shen Yuan getting closer with his meimei and raising her, leading with him knowing a lot about the womanhood because he was the most around her life, so in most mornings SY was the one helping her take care of her hair, helping her decide an outfit, make-up, and eventually when puberty hit , go into the store buy her some pads.

This eventually lead to him neglecting himself and not emotionally maturing as one does, or even thinking deep about his tastes and sexuality.

This would explain the wife beam as well his obliviousness and denial because he had to.

Picture if you wish, Shen twins but SY dies early on (Qiu manor or otherwise) and canon progresses as typical. Both SJ and YQY mourn him, have their universe prescribed angst treatment, and essential all of it goes according to scum villian.

Including SJ dying and SY taking his place. Because SY was reborn into his modern life and remembers none of his past one but actually reading PIDW is almost…nostalgic for him? And the first time he sees SQQ’s face in the mirror he has these weird mixed feelings about it?

But ultimately what I really want us all to ponder is how Yue Qingyuan, the guilty complexed man that he is, watches SJ have a qi deviation, lose his memories, and starts acting like Shen Yuan who they lost years ago and now YQY is confronted with basically two ghosts melded together.

Seeing the difference between the systems for Sqq and Sqh, my impression is that it tries to act like the user's most close to or has affection with, to manipulate better of course.

Just see how Sqq's system after a while acts all friendly with emoticons to appear more cute, and with Sqh it acts cold and quite similar to a certain ice king.

I don't know, I just think it's a fun detail even if it's not intentional :)

Someone post canon says that Shen Qingqiu is an imposter who replaced the real Shen Qingqiu

Everyone shifts uneasily because they knew something was up and most are worried about the first Shen Qingqiu coming back and Yue Qingyuan is frozen in like 8 different flavours of guilt and this allows the accuser to use an artifact that will locate Shen Jiu's soul and prove the imposter is fake

And everyone is shocked but only because now Shen Qingqiu is the one insisting that he isn't Shen Jiu and frankly getting more and more hysterical and closer to a qi deviation every second
