I feel like why late millennial/ early Genz are semi decent on the Internet is because we were told that 1) the the Internet is dangerous place and 2) cyber bulling is a thing and think we need to wheel that in. Literally bring in the CRT now.

This is why it's important to vote small and local. Is it slow and painful to vote in your local and not seeing a change for next possible 20 years or more, maybe. But throwing in a third party president against a system that is inherently made to go against them at every step will make it worse. We've seen it with just a Democratic president and a Republican majority in either house and/or Senate. Right now our politicians see everyone as their advisory (Even some in their own party) and that mentality is on the rise and is enabled. But if you want a change do change due diligence. Nothing will change putting your last bets on one of the big guys. Same way other parties can set up the foundation for crazy things to pass is the same methods and probably even more if it starts somewhere small. We are seeing the late stages of bigger plans that have been methodically thought for decades and might take decades or a lifetime to reverse.

It's a great possibility we won't see changes in our life time but news flash alot of people who make changes don't get to. All the activists you can think of didn't get to see what we have today. Suffragettes would roll in their grave to see that women have everything to themselves not just voting rights. Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Malcolm x, Rosa Parks would be shocked on how much of a melting pot the world is right now. Nelson Mandela, Bob Marley and other activists against apartheid regime/ restrictive governments would look at the countries they have changed stats and how much of power house for culture and music those countries are now and tilt their head trying to understand. I can guarantee you won't see changes that makes you satisfied to stop wanting change. But your kids will (if we can have any in the first place) later generations will look in their textbooks on page 354 and see a graph on how after certain amount people shifted their political beliefs. A picture taken today could be someone's DBQ on someone's Regents. Do we know how much will change? Never, but that's the point.

I'm not gonna tell you how to vote, BUT...

Here are some truths about the upcoming United States election.

Either Trump or Biden will win.

Our political system is designed around ensuring that either the Democrat or the Republican win. There is no "but if everyone rallies around a third party candidate..." argument, because...

Grassroots campaigns can't work. There are areas of the country that don't have internet or television. Congress just allowed the Affordable Connectivity Program to lapse, denying internet to even more people. There is literally no way for some candidates to get their message to huge parts of the country.

The Republican and Democrat candidates are backed by huge donor machines that enable them to tour a campaign trail. Independent candidates do not have this luxury.

Our country still uses a First Past the Post (FPTP) voting system, which is specifically designed to support only two candidates.

Our country uses an electoral (all or none) system, which is why you hear that voting for a third party candidate "takes votes away" from one of the major party candidates. For example, if Trump gets 48,999 votes, Biden gets 50,000 votes, and a third party candidate gets one single vote, Biden takes all the electoral votes in the state. All of them.

I really hope you make your peace with this now. Please, vote how you want, but with one candidate saying he will essentially outlaw transgender people, I can't imagine NOT voting for the only other candidate who can possibly win. Right now the polls are 50/50, which is absolutely insane to me.

In my experience, it's usually younger people who talk about either voting their conscience, or not voting at all to "send a message." I assure you, not voting doesn't send a message to the candidate who loses. Your message is only received by the millions of Americans who will suffer as a result.

I don't want to argue. I have no desire to fight with anyone over this anymore. And if you want to ask me "so I have to choose between two killers?" as a gotcha, then I'm sorry to say... The answer is yes. Those are the choices we've been given. And because the United States is no longer a true democratic republic, there's not a whole lot we can do to change that right now.

I saw a video about a girl feeling bad because she had a "bed rot day". Which I can see how it suck if it long term or if you have other health issues (e.g. anxiety, depression, executive dysfunction) but please allow yourself to rot. I have had times where I could have rotted for one day manifest itself into a week of an actual fever with no voice. Don't let anything tell you otherwise.
