The Supernatural Bunker Map

Hello! Over the lockdown period I decided to map out the whole of the bunker! it took me quite a while and lots of it is based on my personal head canons although i did try to be as accurate as possible in the areas that are seen in the show.

Hope you like my ideas!!

Over the many seasons of the show, we get to see the bunker expand, with new corridors added and explored or new rooms being found by the boys as they too navigate the extensive building.

Like all the other sets and scenes we see throughout the show, the attention to detail and thorough planning that has gone into the supernatural bunker has created a masterpiece that has caused so many fans (including me) to be intrigued as to how the building would actually be laid out.

In response to the end of the show and my inevitable re-re-re-re-watch, I have tried my hand at mapping out the bunker blueprints (with quite a bit of artistic licence) so hopefully whilst watching I, and you, will be able to follow the boys as they wonder through their home.

I do want to say that I know other fans have also taken on this project and their versions may be more to your liking or more accurate but this is just my idea of how it could all fit together and a few personal headcanons to what the Winchesters or the Men of Letters might have added that we don't see on the show.

Bunker Top Floor - Balcony Level

The top floor of the bunker is cannon and you are able to see that there are two layers from in the war room.

However I have taken it upon myself to create a whole level and discover what is behind the top floor glass in the war room. (again I was board don’t judge me)

In many fanfics and head cannons floating around the fandom, Cas is known to be a lover of nature and all things green. So one of the first things I thought must be on that top floor was of course, a greenhouse/indoor garden. This is where, in my head-canons, Cas spends lots of his time while the boys are asleep. I also believe that Cas has another garden above ground where he keeps his bees!!!

So the room that we actually know must be there is the mysterious glass room behind the balcony. When going through all the bunker scenes I found that the many rounded rooms alternated with having glass behind the platform or having a solid wall. So, originally I was going to put one of the glassed rooms in this space. However, as I made so many layers to the bunker and places that also had the glass wall, I decided to just put in another study. So if you want to change this up you are fully welcome to!

I also put in another library because the men of letters could NEVER have too many books

I haven’t really added much to this floor so I’ll leave the rest for you all to make your own rooms and fit in your own head-canons :)

Bunker Second Floor - Main Level

Ok so the main level…

The place where everyone spends most of their time…

Its big…

This layer was a beast.

You might think that because nearly everything is set on this floor and nearly all the footage and scenes of the bunker are showing the rooms and corridors from this level, that it would be easy to create

But NO

You would most certainly be wrong

I think I got a headache every time I found another anomaly or room that seemed to not fit anywhere OR ROOM 28 which turns up in, what I saw, was 4 DIFFERENT ROOMS!!!!

Agh it was hard - and took a LOT of guesswork as well as my own ideas of where I think rooms would be (or I want them to be) placed.

But I did it!! to mostly my satisfaction

Again if you don’t agree with anything or believe cannon shows a different thing you are very welcome to change it or send me a message

So, we have the main library, war room and kitchen all of which we see many times and don’t move throughout the seasons.

Next it gets complicated.

Behind the blue glass I have put the infirmary. In earlier episodes (and some later ones) we do see this room as actually being a storage/study/where the impala gets rudely dumped. But in episodes where this room features more prominently (9x11, 11x22, 14x3, 14x7), it’s the infirmary so that’s what I went for.

Moving down the left hand corridor we get to Dean and Jack’s bedrooms. These also change with some having Jack’s room as Sam’s or Dean’s room somewhere completely different but going off the floorpan from Supernatural Wiki this is how it was laid out and it makes sense, for the most part (but we are just going to ignore the random times it doesn’t).

From here on out it was basically “I don’t know what I’m doing so we’re just going to go off guesswork, head cannons and a few scenes of random areas and the directions the boys are running”

Anyway this is where I have put Cas’s room (yes I’m giving him his own room he deserves it), the room Gabe stayed in, Sams room and Mary’s room. I wanted to keep them all pretty close despite the odd numbering and I also wanted to squidge Jack in between his two dads.

(in my head-cannon Cas and Dean share Dean’s room because - Destiel - so Cas’ room becomes another spare)

On the left side I have also put the dungeon, the storage rooms, the bathroom, the electrical room, Dean’s man-cave and other additional rooms such as more bedrooms, more storage and archive rooms, bathrooms, and a generator room.

Going back to where the library is, behind the telescope I have put the study room seen in episodes such as 13x3 and 13x14. I tried to make it as accurate as I could to when we see Donatello running through the corridors but I’m not sure if I did it justice.

On the right side of the library and map room, I have put two more bedrooms, a bathroom and living room of sorts that I believe the boys made rather than the MoL.

so yeah this is my attempt of and imagined, main floor.

Bunker Third Floor - Garage Level

This is the floor that I have put the garage on. I know it's meant to be the floor above as we see Dean, Sam, Charlie and Mary all going up into the garage via the stairs but as I wanted to put a garden on the top floor, and it seemed to fit better if it was on a lower floor. For the main part of this level I used the blueprint map that is seen in 12x21 and for the rest I again made most of it up and added some of the rooms that we see on the show.

the thing about cracking open a long-established popular ship tag on ao3 is that it allows you to be extraordinarily picky, and i think it must be the closest thing i will ever experience to being filthy rich. i scroll along at super speed like no today i am only interested in fics with this precise range of words and one of these three tags. only authors i’ve heard of, please. hmm, i suppose i could consider an unknown quantity given its apparent popularity with the people, but… no, no, this summary doesn’t do it for me. no particular reason, it’s just… eh, i don’t need to explain myself. bring me 50 more like this for me to choose from and we’ll see.
