A little late, but my contribution to Phil Day! 

Phil really did change the world in ways we all could never believe :) its amazing how far he had gone, and how he had influenced so many people in his life. He is truly the AmazingPhil. Dan probably would never have thought he was the lucky knight of wands didnt he hah

@phanic-mx Yes exactly. That’s what I admire so much about them, too. They are a great example of a healthy and supportive relationship. And people saying they broke up because Dan is finding other men attractive is harmful to all lgbtq+ couples because it adds to negative stereotypes that are often thrown against them. Also Dan and Phil are such a perfect source of hope for lgbtq+ and even straight people that a loving and loyal relationship is possible!

I’ve seen some people thinking that Dan broke up with Phil because Dan mentioned something hot guy. But from what Dan said in BIG shows that he still cares a lot about Phil and sees him as a permanent part of his life. This is not a discussion I wanted to have but I just want to point stuff out because of people who are doubting their relationship. I want to say I absolutely do not fetishize their relationship, and that is not the purpose of this, but I do admire it a lot.

1. Quotes from BIG: “Obviously we were more than friends”, “companions though life, like actual soulmates”, “I bet so many of you want to know so much more about that, but here’s the thing, I like to keep things in my personal life private. So does Phil”

Points about this: Why would Dan say these things that obviously would cause people to suspect means they are still dating. He was telling his truth in this video. He would not say someone to imply such a thing in such an important video if it weren’t true. He’s a smart guy and would clearly know the implications this would bring.

2. Despite admitting they have been more than friends in the past, they still have lived together for 10 yrs. And Dan has also implied they intend to live together for a long time. Dan even called Phil an “permanent apartment fixture or a birth mark.” Sure some people are able to live with someone they broke up with. But you really think Dan, who admits he is incredibly awkward, would be able to do this? And despite his fear of being out, because of the belief by so many that they were together, before he was ready unless they want to live together long term.

3. They have gone on so many vacations together. Phil’s family obviously loves Dan. Phil’s aunt even made a hat named after Dan for her shop. People may be comfortable going with someone to spend time with a friend’s family. But this many times? And going on a vacation to Japan a second time right after coming out? That just doesn’t make sense.

4. Norman: They own a pet together. And they have suggested getting a dog, and the way they had said it clearly indicated they plan to do that together if they get a place that allows pets.

Dan’s flirtations with some guys or calling someone attractive in a suggestive way does not conclude that they are broken up. Although I feel uncomfortable by these things, I don’t judge him for it or linger on it and Phil doesn’t either. They just have faith in their relationship and know their loyalty to each other. Dan has been in the closet for so long. Now he is finally free to be himself and it must be so nice for him to be able to say these things openly. Many couples are able to joke around about attractive people, including heterosexual people as well without jealousy. There’s no reason a gay couple couldn’t be like this as well. It doesn’t necessarily strain their relationship.

Now I want to emphasize again that I do not believe they are together for my entertainment. And I do not try to live vicariously through them. I just respect their bond a lot. I admired them as a platonic relationship so much, in fact seeing their bond as a close friendship before they came out because that’s what they wanted. But now it seems so clear to me that they are together and they are ok with people thinking that. Insisting they are not invalidates their relationship.

Saying they are broken up or were never dating is such a far reach. I don’t understand why some people insist they are not together while so many things point to that. Just let it be and move on. If you don’t like the idea of them being together then just ignore that and enjoy their content as their own individual people.

If I upset anyone by this then I truly apologize but I just wanted to put this out there. For either people being paranoid or people who see it as proof. I am not trying to attack anyone and I hope no one misunderstands me.

I love Dan so much, especially when he is advocating such important topics. But his suggestive content and tweets make me so uncomfortable 😕 I mean it’s his life. He can do whatever he wants. But legit as an ace woman when I see something sexual, direct or indirect, it’s really triggering honestly. Because I most likely will be emotionally blackmailed into getting married. And if not that, then made to feel inferior for being single. And I cannot express how much anxiety I get from that. I have actual panic attacks when I think about being intimate with someone.

So when I come online it’s my escape but I find it here, too. Sexual content and innuendos are the norm. I just wish people, including those popular in media, could use a tw for that as well. I try my best to add a tw for anything that may affect someone. But no one understands sex may be triggering to someone as well. Allosexual people usually don’t realize how much this can affect someone. Because romance and sex is so normal and desirable to them that they can’t imagine someone feeling differently.
