look as stupidly written this show can be, it has both the ability to keep me entertained and make me feel feelings and these days, that’s worth a lot.

also dean honey good job recognizing that your father was kinda (read: absolutely) an asshole. like seriously? separating your kid from everyone he knows and one of the only safe spaces he trusts and throwing him into a world of monsters and demons and death, all of which he is 100% aware of thanks to your parenting?? no wonder dean didn’t stand up to his father.

look i’ve been around here for a while and we all know dean’s not gonna lock himself in a ma’lak box and take a long walk off a short pier so why do they like to torture me like this???

just thinking about how sam is stepping into bobby’s shoes with the whole helping the next generation(?) of hunters by providing info and being a home base and such but at the next level because it’s not just for surrogate children and how dean wants to step into ellen’s and support the next generation of hunters by providing a safe space to unwind/meet other hunters/etc.

so dean’s pacifying dream world is literally the road house. if he doesn’t get to run a roadhouse style situation/hunter bar type thing (and i’ve been on here, i know he doesn’t) I AM GOING TO BE PISSED

but seriously compare this new vision to the one he had while being a djinn’s on tap in 2x20. in the first one he found himself in a state of “normalcy” as a mechanic with a girlfriend and no trace of sam in sight (which was eventually the cause of the djinn’s downfall) and completely devoid of all things “hunter”, but compare that to this one in 14x10: dean working at a bar for other hunters with pamela, a friend who died, awaiting sam and castiel’s return from a hunt. and that’s where michael did right, unlike the djinn, michael did not buy into what dean says is his ideal life much like i say my favorite color is purple: it’s an instinct.

the djinn gave dean a hypothetical where he could be happy instead of that michael gave dean a world in which he would be happy: a world with friends, family, and a way to stay connected to them. and that’s why sam had to literally enter dean’s mind for dean to realize that it wasn’t real.

ah so we’ve finally got to the infamous deal with the empty, and apparently cas has learned from dean and sam’s past actions that telling the winchesters that you’re life is in danger will get them on your case, and that would put his self sacrificing streak in danger! and we can’t have that now can we

do i know, logically, that jack isn’t gonna stay dead? yes. this is supernatural and he hasn’t died enough times yet.

am i still crying like an idiot because i got too attached to this character? also yes

i kinda love that dean loves scoobydoo and scary movies because in his words “it’s nice to know the bad guy looses” and it reminded me of that thing: why people rewatch movies and reread books over and over again: because it’s familiar.

dean never had a state of consistency or stability. just look how he latched onto anything concrete: the bunker, sam. and media where the bad guy is fake and there aren’t any real stakes. sam had 2 years of stability at college (and even that isn’t nearly enough but he isn’t the focus of this rant). dean never got that or anything like it.

or that’s not quite true. he had that time in the boys home. but as stated in another of my posts, that was a punishment. and either way, it was taken too soon. so is it any wonder why dean knows scooby doo well enough to accurately guess the episode they’re in in scoobynatural? or that he knows so much trivia? or that he has memorized so many plot lines?

just a cough? i don’t think so. i’ve been here long enough to know that jack’s gonna suppress it and pretend it’s fine until it nearly gets him killed and then everyone is gonna be worried and a drastic decision will be made because plot. then he’s gonna promise to be better about it and more honest, but he won’t, he’s just gonna hide it again and pretend everything is fine in a perpetuating cycle. yeah we’ve been here before and it’s gonna end similarly.

so either she’s gonna die in some stupid intense way (possibly for someone else’s character development)

or she’s gonna be forgotten and tossed into some random woods somewhere
