A Game of Fate //closed thread with @ask-miss-angora//

The distant cry of seagulls filled the sniper’s ears, drawing him back to reality. Without realizing it, he had zoned out, caught up in his own thoughts once again. A rather dangerous habit of his, considering how infamous he and his crew were. But no matter. Fate would decide what became of him, something that gave the man a sense of peace to the world.

Still, he realized how very bored he was at the moment. It had only been an hour or so since their ship had docked on the island; a fairly sized town that the captain has successfully gained major control over recently. Auger considered his options. Perhaps he could explore the town a bit more, though he couldn’t imagine it being much fun. Maybe he could use his Senriku and terrorize some of the townsfolk. He decided against it though, as it would be a waste of resources.

As he was thinking to himself, he caught a glance of something pink in his peripheral. From where he sat on the upper deck, the woman seemingly didn’t notice him.

Oh, this would do nicely.

“Angora.” He spoke, not bothering to move from his position. “How nice of you to join us on the outside. You’re so often locked up in that room of yours.”

Anyone thinks Blackbeard hides things in his beard for safe keeping?

Where’s Augur’s gun? In his beard. Where’s the money? In his beard. Where’s my Will? In his beard

(For the past few weeks I have been running into guys with long hair or beards or both who would pull random things out of their hair and I had an image of BB doing the same)

❝AUGER. Captain's orders, I want ye in my room NOW. Please.❞

The sniper’s head perked up a bit at the command. It was rare for the captain to sound so serious, and everyone on the crew knew to take this tone as the law.

“Of course.” He stated plainly, following closely behind his captain. Auger was smart enough to piece together what the plan for their destination was, but he chose to remain silent, knowing there wouldn’t be much use in asking him anyway.

His face quickly turned a light red as he averted his eyes, raising a hand to feign adjusting his glasses in order to hide his face.

“A rather interesting look, captain.”

You let fate decide things, right? What if fate decides against something you want? Would you deny fate and make your own destiny? Or let it be?

“Ignoring the absolute power of fate simply because it doesn’t play into your every whim and wish is quite childish. Asking for my opinions on such a thing is meaningless really because regardless of what I believed to be right or wrong, it makes no difference whatsoever in the grand scheme. 

There has perhaps been a time or two where I didn’t immediately understand the path that fate had taken me or my allies down. Despite that, I believed firmly in its guiding hand, and in the end, it always presented itself to be leading to the right destination. Everything that happens is fated. It’s all leading to one final conclusion. And for me, that conclusion is to follow my captain until he becomes the Pirate King.”

“I would say it’s dependant on the situation as a whole. I’m not opposed to a more classy outing with my partner every now and then. That being said… I still enjoy having quality alone time. Simply having a quiet meal together, that would be the most ideal situation…”

“Hm… I’m not one for extravagant events for sure. I believe I would simply like to spend some quality alone time with whoever it is I’m with. Being able to see my partner content and near me… that’s all I would really ask for.”

“While I haven’t discussed it much, I do have a bit of an affinity for flowers myself. Picking a singular favorite is a bit difficult, however, I have a personal preference towards Heliotropes. As for roses, while I don’t personally hold anything against them, they can be a bit cliche. Though I suppose that does make them rather excellent symbols.”

💘: How do you feel about Valentine’s Day?

“Valentine’s Day is nothing but an overly marketed idea to sell to young couples that require exhaustive performative romance in order to make their feelings for one another feel validated. If there’s someone you truly care about and feel as though is your soul mate, then you should feel that sense of affection on any given day.”

“… The phrasing of this question is a bit vague… but I suppose I would have at least one or two people that may fit into that category.”

“… The relationship I have with my captain is a bit more nuanced than a Thing.” The sniper says, venom practically dripping as he hisses out the last word.

“And I’m no fool. The captain is a man of excess. He enjoys hundreds of different foods and wines and yes, women. But it doesn’t matter. They’re nothing but accessories. Trinkets to be worn for a night, maybe two and then discarded for whatever catches his eye next.
