Can anyone recommend me some lengthy and as close to canon as possible fics of when McGonagall went to Hogwarts?

I’ve having a really hard time finding anything and I’m really interested in the era before the Marauders (their parents and when Minerva attended as a student), mid 1940s-50s.

Anything would be appreciated, I only use AO3 nowadays though lol.

This is gonna sound so wack but even after being in this fandom for YEARS I have never read any other fanfic than ATYDs….. mainly because I love the cannon compliancy of it and how real it feels, and also because anytime I try to read something new I’m scared.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever had the chance to write about but does anyone get this feeling when reading something new from a fandom you’re in?

I’m lwk nervous to say this to moots in this fandom cuz yall can be judgy but whenever i go to start reading TCoPTPs or any other popular fic i get so overwhelmed and like im being thrown into the ocean😭

(I am happy to admit that this the only problem taking up my mind right now, and I’m every day of my life blessed and thankful that my biggest worries have to be about my hobbies and not about how I will go on living.)

And I don’t even have like good friends anymore everyone decided they hate each other and turns out my friendships only existed because other people were there to support my words like i genuinely don’t have anything left. They’ve all passed on from what happened and found new things and I don’t even feel like I exist at school anymore cuz trios don’t work don’t even let them think they do cuz why am I third wheeling and being left out and treated like an add on. I genuinely fucking hate it here and being alone in bed all weekend and never being invited out. And like yeah I don’t usually go out w them anymore now but maybe if they made it fucking enjoyable and not like I’m a puppy that will do whatever they want or can ignore when I’m not entertaining enough maybe I would be around more, but I’ve felt like a dog all my life and I’m so tired of it.
