i think my nitpicky trait of the week is how annoying it is to see aang be portrayed as a canonical vegan in fanart or fanfics when he is in fact a vegetarian. (and by canonical i mean people thinking this is actually canon and putting it in their works lol i’m not complaining about headcanons)

vegans - do not eat any meat or animal products including dairy and eggs

vegetarians - do not eat meat, poultry, fish and seafood, but does eat animal products

and i think it annoys me because it shows a) a gross misunderstanding of aang’s beliefs when you insist he’s a vegan or b) that you didn’t watch the show?? bc he says he’s a vegetarian, he says he likes egg custard like i’m?? why insist he’s a vegan when he’s NOT. it’s just so… odd to me

why would katara be forced to do anything.. especially by a man?? it just doesn’t make sense lol

People come up with a lot of stupid reasons to criticize atla but saying that Kataang ended up together because thats what Aang wanted and that its not reciprocated is definitely,,,, interesting.

Did you watch the show???? have you watched kataras arch???? it literally revolves around feminism,

The same Katara that traveled across the world to learn water bending and challenged their best teacher to a fight because he wouldn't teach her because she was a girl???

The same Katara who blew up a factory? Who successfully led a prison break???

Katara is literally the one who kick started the entire series by sticking up for herself.

Thats the Katara you think folded and built a whole life with Aang because he wore her down?? You think Katara married and had children with Aang because only Aang wanted to?? You think Katara would let anyone, even Aang, pressure her into a relationship she didn't want?

Like it showed her setting that boundary. She defends herself just fine. I can assure you Aang did not harass Katara into their relationship.

I'm gonna say something crazy about Katara and Aang, guys....they got married because they were in love. They had children because they were in love. They had a family because they were in love.

It wasn't a business marriage. This is horrible, i know.

by the way, you guys need to reevaluate the way you act if you think a palestinian on tumblr is only valid if they have gone through some form of unspeakable tragedy.

if you only interact with our posts when we post about our trauma or the death of our family members or friends or something of that sort, please take a step back.

because we don’t have to adhere to your perfect victim narrative. and more importantly, none of us actually owe you that information. and you need to listen to us and the things we say, even if we don’t share our trauma online with a bunch of strangers, and even if we haven’t gone through some indescribable and horrible event

never cared for people who preferred zutara over kataang (to each their own) but i have to ask how they managed to convince themselves that their headcanon of katara being ‘aang’s trophy wife’ is actually real???

how are you mad over something not at all canon? just say you ship zutara and leave it at that please!

because being outraged over this while simultaneously being obsessed with the idea of katara being ‘*zuko’s* fire lady’ is a bit ironic idk

Nope, you don't like him. You just hate that he ended up with Katara and you hide behind the guise of "i like him, i just don't like how he's written" but you still actively hate him on behalf of a stupid crack ship

there’s still traces of it on the web archive. i find a lot of good proof of the writers establishing kataang as canon before the finale on there aka interviews, promotional material, etc etc
