This is something I made four or five years ago. The sound is surprisingly current, back then it didn't really fit into any of my sets.

It is a mashup of sorts, but still not. I compiled as many versions, covers and mixes of Art of Noise's Moments In Love as I could, looped some bits, arranged over a song, added a simple electro-like drum-machine beat.

The outcome, with it's quick beat and analog drum sound fits surprisingly well with current post-dubstep and trap music, allthough it's a bit more understated than most music of those genres.

Still one of my favorite creations today.

Hérna er lag sem ég bjó til mestmegnis á svölum á 8. hæð á íbúðarblokk sem snéri að sjónum við strönd Kuwait City, í heimsókn hjá pabba í apríl eða mai árið 2010. Ég var nýhættur í sambandi og frekar dapur, eins og heyrist sennilega í laginu. 

Lagið byggir á hljóðbút úr lagi Hljóma, Ástarsæla, sem hann Engilbert syngur. Ótrúleg rödd.

This is a song I made on the balcony of an 7th floor apartment facing the beach of Kuwait City, visiting my dad in the spring of 2010. I'd just left a relationship, I was a bit sad, I think you can hear it.

The song samples an icelandic song from the 60's, "Ástarsæla". What a lovely voice.

Matreiðsluþátturinn með Yasmine & Jógvan

Ég var í heimsókn hjá pabba í gær. Þessi þáttur var í sjónvarpinu. Það sem ég sá var korter af selebum að borða vandræðalega. Hópur fólks sem átti það sameiginlegt að hafa unnið sér til frægðar með öðrum afrekum en sjónvarpsmennsku. Ég sé sirka klukkutíma af sjónvarpsútsendingum á ári, er þetta alltaf svona? Eru menn alveg hættir í skrifaðri dagskrárgerð? Er þetta næsta stig af raunveruleikasjónvarpi, þar sem að afþreyingarefni fer frá því að vera leikinn söguþráður, yfir í að vera "raunverulegur" söguþráður, yfir í að vera söguþráðslaus raunveruleiki?

Svona án gríns, það gerðist ekkert á skjánum á korter, svona sem ég tók eftir. Bara Jónas Sig og eitthvað annað fínt fólk að borða. Ekki misskilja, ég er ekki að gagnrýna neinn sem var á skjánum. Og þetta var ekki beinlínis leiðinlegt, aðallega út af því að þetta var raunverulega rosalega undarlegt. Minnti helst á sjónvarpsþátt Barða á Skjá Einum fyrir tíu árum, Konfekt. Eins og í þeim þætti þá virtist þetta helst vera æfing í vandræðaleika. 

Hlakka til að sjá hvert sjónvarpsmenningin verður komin að ári.

We just got an album of Ennio Morricone tracks, performed by Hugo Montenegro, at Marriottestraat. It's kind of weird listening to this, because the record, and other versions of these tracks, has been sampled so extensively, and tracks used so widely, so I'm hearing more of the references and the samples than the tracks themselves...

Do you really believe that only the free market can adapt to change (and forced change at that, wich is an effect similar to regulations)?

Societies and the people who make these societies adapt to change regardless of the freedom or even existence of markets.
