(to extend this post about Dream being unable to keep magic creatures away from Hob while in his fishbowl)

In the span of a week Hob meets:

Two vampires asking rather nicely if they could taste his (immortal) blood

A djinn who tries to make him tell the conditions of his “immortality deal”

A witch that pulls one of his hair off to “use it in a ritual”

A group of demons, each offering him more than the other in exchange of his immortal soul and body (a rare pack according to them!)

A Banshee with professional curiosity

A so proclaimed “Fae Queen” with a proposition of King Consort in her realm

A few ghosts - most of them just staring, one or two shooting him disapproving glances...

Another demon with black glasses informing him that “the Angel and him had wanted to meet him for a long time”. The angel is nowhere to be seen as he “disapproved of such an opportunist encounter”

Someone calling themselves a “dream” who’s there out of personal curiosity

A “young” dragon who wanted to meet the only human older than them

A sphinx with a riddle to ask - to see if his long life had brought him knowledge and discernment.  

Some guy introducing themselves as “Desire” who has a lot of suggestions as to how they should spend the evening

I forgot to take any photos at the new year party so here are my old and my new planner and a few important things that happened: 🎶 I went to an opera for the first time in my life and I LOVED it 🍥Went to eat ramen and look around in the city with my mom on Mother's day 🎭 Went to see two plays in theatres (one of them for the second time) ✈ Traveled to Rhodes and had a great time with my mom (also first time on a plane) 🎤Went to Vienna to see the christmas market aaaand to see One Ok Rock! and all the countless events that happened with my friends and family. I feel I got closer to them. Also the new people I met all the great events and things I got and participated in through my job. Lots of reading, playing, listening, speaking, eating and everything good. It was a good year for me I think I know and love myself a bit more which makes me really open to all and every kind of experiences. So this is one of the #thingsidid ... a #diybanner for a trip to #mexico 😋👍 SWIPE--->FOR #processvideo and pictures . . I tried a #newtechnique using my #ecolinebrushpens from @brushpen_ecoline ... and the effects were so cool... of course u do have to wait for the ink to dry or else u will smudge it leave a finger print in the piece 😅... . . The effects came out nice and pastel-y... and not streaky... kind of like water colors but #oncanvas , a #softcanvas from #artistsloft . . Has it been done before? Sorry if it has but I was thinking about Dream’s mask and how it completely covers his face and, well, what about some kind of Achilles and Patroclus Dreamling AU ?

Lucifer followed through with threats. Their armies have besieged the Dreaming and an attack is impending. But Dream is nowhere to be found.

Hob is there though (has he only been visiting ? has he officially become royal consort ? either way, his physical form happen to be in the Dreaming). He quickly understands that, without their king, the people of the Dreaming’s spirits will get low. And right now, right now what they need is conviction. Courage. Hope.

So he drapes himself in black, puts on Dream’s mask and leads a counter-offensive. And it works. People follow him. They believe in their victory. 

But Hob is only a man, and posing as Lord Morpheus makes him every demon’s prime target.

He doesn’t die, but only because he can’t.

When Dream comes back to see Hob’s battered and bloodied body being brought back from the battlefield, the fury that overcomes him is enough to shake the foundations of the Dreaming...

When I left high school, I thought I could be a liar, a seductress, or a biology enthusiast. I thought that graduating - that turning my tassel from one side to the other - would make me into something different. In some ways it did. Soon after moving away, I got a real taste of casting away the cloak of monotony and familiarity but it was not the daydream I had formed in my head of ‘being alive’ and following desires. No, it was alien and terrifying - adjectives I did not expect to feel or find. When I tried to lie, peers called my bluff. When I tried to be a seductress, men called my bluff. When I tried to be a  biology enthusiast, intellectuals called my bluff.  I was lead to believe - by some news article, or short story, or television program - that I could do anything I wanted in this world. The 21st century American Dream: be happy, be busy, be selfish,  be in love, but if you try too hard, you will be found out.

I’ve seen posts arguing that if Hob never met any other supernatural entities it’s because Dream made sure to keep them at bay/made them understand how bad of an idea it would be to mess with his immortal friend acquaintance. And yes yes I can totally picture this!!! 

But what about the time when Dream was in his fishbowl?

I mean, sure, at first, the fear itself must be enough to protect him. But then a random magical being doesn’t pay attention and approaches Hob  before freezing in their track, fully expecting the King of Dreams to show and retaliate, but then...nothing ! And it happens again, one, two, three times... And a rumour is spreading that Morpheus has disappeared and, whether it is true or not, he hasn’t been seen on earth in years, decades...

The threat becomes distant, is forgotten and let’s not forget younger entities might never have heard of it in the first place.

And in a few decades, Hob gets to encounter more supernatural creatures than in his previous 550 years of living and he’s just so confused!!! (hopefully most of them are just curious, no bad intentions. As for the others...Maybe Death takes it upon herself to keep her brother’s human out of trouble as a way of making up for the fact she can’t directly help him...)
