`Небываемое бывает` Петр I

​На протяжении многовековой истории Россия создавала проекты, смелость и широта масштабов которых поражает и продолжает влиять на нас сегодня. Импульс столетий, не знающих невозможного, пройдя через всю историю больших достижений, стал одной из фундаментальных основ нашей культуры.

Этот проект был создан, как современное отражение духа, энергии и динамики импульса, проходящего через нашу историю, и как яркий символ, подчеркивающий неразрывную связь и преемственность между культурой прошлого и сегодняшнего дня.

​Проект P A R V S C E N T E R - ультрасовременный архитектурный комплекс нового городского культурного центра Санкт-Петербурга в дельте Невы, уникальный и запоминающийся образ которого сформирован сложной композицией несущих изогнутых плоскостей, имеющих форму парусов, создающих в объеме яркий и динамичный силуэт большого корабля, выходящего в открытое море.

Проект предусматривает более 70.000 кв. метров всесезонных общественных пространств, включающих в себя множество больших современных выставочных залов и лекториев, зрительных и концертных площадок, библиотек и видовых платформ, расположенных на разных уровнях комплекса.

Пространства центра позволяют проводить масштабные мероприятия, а также выставки, трансляции, посвящённые истории и культуре России и Санкт-Петербурга, сопровождаемые крупноформатными лазерными динамическими проекциями изображений на внутренних стенах комплекса и демонстрацией объемных голографических объектов и сцен внутри центрального атриума .

Архитектурная композиция комплекса намеренно сориентирована по сторонам света так, чтобы пространство центрального атриума также выполняло роль идеальной панорамной площадки для наблюдения заходящего солнца, а паруса фасадов комплекса могли выполнять роль огромных проекционных экранов, в центре открытой ландшафтной сцены, образуя зрительный зал на берегах «амфитеатра» набережных дельты Большой и Малой Невы.

PARUS CENTER PROJECT BY ARCHITECT SVETOZAR ANDREEV

"The impossible is possible." — Peter the Great

Throughout its centuries-long history, Russia has created projects whose boldness and grand scale continue to amaze and inspire us today. ​The momentum of eras that knew no boundaries, carried forward by a history of great achievements, has become one of the foundational pillars of our culture.

This project was conceived as a modern reflection of the spirit, energy, and dynamism of this historical momentum. It serves as a vivid symbol, emphasising ​the inseparable connection and continuity between the culture of the past and the present day.

PARVS CENTER is an ultra-modern architectural complex for Saint Petersburg's new cultural city centre in the Neva Delta, its unique and memorable design is formed by a complex arrangement of curved load-bearing surfaces shaped like sails, creating a bold and dynamic silhouette of a grand ship heading into the open sea.

The project encompasses over 70,000 square metres of all-season public spaces, including numerous large, state-of-the-art exhibition halls, lecture theatres, auditoriums, concert venues, libraries, and observation platforms located across different levels of the complex.​

The centre's spaces allow for large-scale events, exhibitions, and broadcasts dedicated to the history and culture of Russia and Saint Petersburg. These will be enhanced by large-format laser projections on the complex's internal walls and the display of three-dimensional holographic objects and scenes within the central atrium.​

The architectural composition of the complex is deliberately aligned with the cardinal points, ensuring that the central atrium also functions as an ideal panoramic platform for observing sunsets.

The façade’s sails are designed to serve as enormous projection screens at the heart of an open-air landscape stage, forming a spectator area along the "amphitheatre" of embankments in the delta of the Bolshaya and Malaya Neva Rivers.

Without a doubt, these illustrations speak for themselves!

I recently discovered in the press the new Patina Maldives resort hotel project on Fari Island, which opened in June 2021, and was surprised to find direct architectural references to my own project, the United Islands Project 2017, which was published a long time ago in numerous international architectural publications and internet platforms.

Still more surprising for me was the fact that the Patina Maldives project was developed by Studio MK27, a major studio headed by the Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan, a creative professional for whom I have immense regard and respect.

According to their website, Studio MK27 has a team of 30 architects. Knowing the specifics of the work of large studios, I understand only too well that it is quite difficult for a studio’s leader to keep track of the origin of ideas brought in by team members or investors. Naturally, I simply cannot assume a direct citation of my project by Studio MK27’s esteemed founder.

Nevertheless, since Patina Maldives is proudly presented as "revolutionary" in the international press (according to Travel Insider), I would be grateful for some clarification from Studio MK27’s founding director.

Dear Sr. Kogan!

I highly value you as an architect, and very much appreciate your contribution to bringing modernism to the tropics, and supporting the concept of placing the geometric three-dimensional forms of modern villas over water. This idea should have been realized a long time ago.

However, as you can see, it is impossible to deny the direct similarity of our two projects, both in terms of their concept and their architectural compositional solution, and I would be grateful to hear from you as to how this could occur.

We all understand that overwater villas are the flagship and recognizable calling card of your Patina Maldives project on Fari Island, as do we all understand that my comments above are made strictly within the scope of professional ethics.

I assume that the inspiration for the "revolutionary idea" came either from someone in your team, or from an investor subscribing to the many architectural internet platforms on which my United Islands project has been published on numerous occasions, because I cannot assume that you have any need to borrow the ideas of others.

Nevertheless, I cannot help but make the point that, when presenting the idea of a project in the press as "revolutionary" reference should at least be made to the original author of the idea, not to mention the fact that your employees initially had to contact the author in order to obtain permission for the use of this architectural design in your project!

I would be glad to receive your feedback.
