San, he insists to himself, isn’t delusional. You were just confused - that’s all. Mingi, being your high school sweetheart, was mundane and familiar. San doesn’t blame you for going back to him, but he aches for the day when you finally leave him. He just knows you’ll show up at his door, realizing how foolish you were for not being with him sooner.

“Hey, San. Do you think you can give me the notes I missed for Bio yesterday?” Your voice pierces through his focus as he diligently works on his Literature essay. A smile immediately adorns his lips when he feels you sit down next to him. There’s a brief moment where your bare knee brushes against his, his breath hitching quietly at the slightest contact.

“Of course, beautiful. Why weren’t you in class?” His tone is calm, patient - but he’s really asking to see if you’d tell him the real reason. For a while, you’ve been a bit short on money with a demanding college schedule. Your job wasn’t the most accommodating when it came to hours, so he decided to pass by the restaurant you worked at on his way home from class. You were there, a dazzling smile on your face as you gracefully took down order after order on your notepad.

He didn’t come in, of course. No, that’d be a bit too much. Instead, he allowed himself to linger in front of the main window for a few moments. You looked fine, a little tired but fine nonetheless. With a small grin, he willed himself to turn away from the store, knowing that you were okay and you’d come find him for the notes tomorrow.

“You’re a prick,” You practically spit at him, boisterously shoving at a folding chair until you finally get the damn thing to close. Mark watches you a few feet away, his hands planted on one of the tables that would soon have to be moved to the center of the room. The sleeves of his sweater are rolled up to his elbows, the veins of his forearms prominent and annoyingly attractive.

“Maybe you just have a crush on me.”

You open your mouth to rebuttal but you can’t seem to find a snarky response to throw his way, much to your dismay. Mark Lee is the bane of your existence - the perfect church boy to all the adults in town but a walking temptation to you and the rest of your high school population. What infuriated you more, though, was his deliberate ignorance of the (obvious) sexual tension between you two.

“Aw, come on, Y/N. I think it’s kinda hot.” He drops his hands from the table, abandoning his task to stalk over to you. It’s utterly irritating how your body flushes as soon as he comes near, but you maintain a straight face nonetheless. A reaction would satisfy him, and that’s the last thing you plan on doing. You do, however, decide to humor him.

“Yeah? Why don’t you do something about it then?”

from After Hours, part 2 of Summer Lovin’

Jeno can’t seem to keep his eyes off of you for most of the night, much to his own dismay seeing that you barely spare him a second glance. In fact, you act as if he’s not there. As if you aren’t competing against him alongside Felix, and he tries not to show how much he wants to rip his hair from the roots just seeing you with another guy. The rational side of his brain knows that you have every right to be with someone else, to move on. But that doesn’t help the sick feeling that resonates in the pit of his stomach as he watches the two of you.

Felix seems oblivious to the obvious hostility radiating from your body as you absolutely pummel Jeno and Hannah in game after game. From trivia to tug-of-war to pictionary for fucks sake. Jeno lets you win, though, wanting nothing more than this night to come to an end. He’s sick of seeing Felix smile proudly as you rack in the points, sick of seeing his hand resting on the small of your back, sick of the god-awful taste left in his mouth.

Jealousy is a disease. And Lee Jeno is utterly sick to his stomach.
