I usually like spiders.

Hiding in corners, building small homes, and living tiny lives. If I see a spider, I try to save it.

I was at my mom's house. We were knitting together. Covered in yarn and absorbed by it. But something moved out of the corner of my eye.

It was a spider, bigger than I expected. I can usually pick up spiders with my bare hands. But this one was different than I expected. Its head was bigger than its body. So I thought to get a tissue to take it outside. But it was moving differently than it should. I wish I could have gotten a better look at it, but looking at it was hard. It unnerved me more than I expected it to.

My mom looked over to it and asked me to kill it. I don't usually kill spiders, but this one wasn't right. It's head was too big. It moved too slow. And it didn't stop walking. It bothered me enough to change my mind.

I grabbed a shoe and came back to the wall. With enough force and a loud slap, squish it went. An unremarkable death for such a small creature. Any time I kill a spider, I do feel bad for it. Spiders don't ask for much and only eat other pests.

This was a big spider. Legs as long as my pinkie and a body as big as the nail, but something was definitely wrong with it. Its head probably doubled its actual size. When I was close enough to look at it, its eyes buldged in different directions, not typical of arachnids. That sent the first chills down my spine. A swollen head on such a sweet creature, walking as if it was making the last long trek of its life. It couldn't have known what was happening to it if it even knew something was wrong at all. When I lifted the shoe, I expected a crumpled spider to peel up with it. Instead, it stayed on the wall, glued by the goo it held inside. I know bugs and the like are infact filled with all their organs and fluids loosely packed into their exoskeletons, and that's the full extent of my knowledge, but this spider was not right. It was just too much, too much to all be contained in such a relatively small body.

It made me sick. It gave me chills I don't usually get, but that big head must've had something in it to make it that way. I was so unnerved that I clutched the chill running up spine, and it wouldn't stop. I cleaned the bug off the wall and ran it to the garbage can. I had to force myself to think of anything else. And I did. That was that.

But now I'm scared. As I sit here moving slowly, and painfully lethargic.

I have a head ache.

Ok, I've calmed down but I still feel such love for this anime. It might actually be my favorite??? Definitely one of them... I'll forever be chasing the high of finishing a good story. I want nothing more than to write something with such heart and nuance. Something that someone else can see and feel as I do. I want to live for the sake of these feelings the way Princess Tutu's characters do...

I just finished Princess tutu and I can't stop crying. That anime is so damn good it fills me with such hope, I relate to Duck so much and I have so many feelings, im writing this with tears in my eyes. I want to write something as beautiful as that. I want to hope for a happy ending too.
