You know those days where you are so busy baking you lose track of time, forget to eat, and then when you get done baking, you look at the time and it is 6:00 pm.
That was my day today. I had to make a Ninja cake along with 65 cupcakes for a birthday party. The cake turned out just like it was requested.

I am not a professional by any means but I think it turned out pretty good. I have never been asked to make a cake like this before.
I would love to hear from you.

A few thoughts about a day in my life as a self taught baker.
I love baking but sometimes baking doesn’t love me! I can really feel like having a baking day! I get my recipes all out and I am ready to bake.
🎂
I start to add my ingredients and start mixing and “BOOM” something goes wrong! I try my best to fix the problem and I end up making it worse! Have you ever accidentally grabbed the wrong ingredient and put in too much? Well I have! Well all you can do is either make the recipe bigger (crowd size) or throw it out!
Well I am here to tell you, don’t be too hard on yourself. It happens to us all at some time! Just laugh and go on! Start over or give it up for the day! That is what I do!

Learning To Bake
My First Time Baking
I remember my first time baking. I was eight years old and asked my mom if I could make some cookies with a cookie press. She helped me get all my ingredients together and the cookie press. I made Spritz cookies and they turned out great!
I enjoyed it so much that I decided to make an Angel Food cake. I had seen my mother make them before. How hard could it be!!
I got all my ingredients together:
Eggs
Cream of Tarter
Cake Flour
Vanilla
Sugar
Cake pan (tube type)
Here is a really good recipe by the way!!
So I set the oven temperature and started mixing up the cake!
I got it all mixed up and put it in the pan. Took it to the oven to bake.
It looked fantastic when I took it out of the oven!! I remembered my mom always turned it upside down to cool on a glass pop bottle. So that is exactly what I did.
Since no one was home I decided to go outside to play while it cooled.
When my family got home I went running to tell my mom about my cake! I was so proud of myself!!
The Final Result
We went into the house to see my cake! I got the worst surprise of my life!!
My cake had fallen out of the pan and was flat on the counter!! It looked horrible!!
The Cause Of Failure
I learned my lesson that day!
DON’T GREASE THE PAN!!!!!
I didn’t see that instruction in the recipe!! But you can bet I will never forget that rule in the future!! LOL
My Angel Food Cake Today

Sure has come a long way from that first time!!
