Lon'qu stood there, thinking very hard about what they could possibly serve, it didn't have to be anything fancy, just, something, quick and easy. "Hmph, it's no wonder people like us don't get put on cooking duty often" he said smirking slightly at the thought. Still though, here they were, with the job, and they had to do something.
What did they still have? Lon'qu looked around the room, trying to find something they could still serve. It wasn't long until he spotted the bags of grain and rice he'd fallen onto earlier, ignoring the grains, rice would be simple enough, with some quickly boiled vegetables.
"I will handle the cooking, but it'll be hard to cook with such a mess around, clean it up" Lon'qu ordered the princess as he went round the back to check what vegetables they had left.

Lon'qu slowly followed her as she stormed off, he sighed "This is why I don't get women.. I tell her she can do what she wants and she gets angry.." he muttered to himself, at least he would get to train though, so there's a silver lining to every irritated princess.
It wasn't a very comfortable walk though, every so often she threw menacing glances while pouting at him.. Lon'qu couldn't help but think maybe he had done something wrong this time.. Probably.
Though, as soon as they got to the training area, Lon'qu threw off his jacket at shirt and got straight to doing press-ups, glancing over at her every so often, even while training, he would take his body guarding job seriously.

Imitating Gregor was not going well at all, as every second passed as he tried to relax, the complete opposite happened, he just felt more and more irritable.. Fishing, was not the best idea for a competition it seemed. Maybe though, maybe that was the problem, he just had to stop thinking it as a competition, that way he could win!
Wait, though that meant he still thought of it as a competition, gods this was infuriating. Lon'qu let out a large sigh and looked up at the gentle clouds in the sky, they had it so easy, not having to worry about fishing, or showing sellswords that they were better, or at least equal. He let out a shorter sigh, as he began to realise how pointless this all was, he had let his competitiveness get the better of him.
..fishing? | Gregor + Lon'qu
Gregor felt the tug and began to pull, letting out a yawn as he did. “Oy, must not be big fish,” he said. “It hardly pulling.” He finally managed to get it out of the water and took the line, causing the fish to flop about in midair. “Oy, Gregor not liking you,” he said. “You go back to river.”
He unhooked the fish before tossing it back into the water. “Today you lucky you caught by man with heart of gold,” Gregor told the fish before relaxing back down again. He glanced over at Lon’qu, who had gone upstream.

Quite content with staying on the group Lon'qu was about go find somewhere to sit down while Nowi was collecting 'treasure', before she suddenly swooped down and picked him up in her giant claws, much to his displeasure. "Gods woman put me down!" he tried to shout at her but to no avail.
She was a woman, but she was a dragon, no, this, this was fine, probably, he tried to move around a bit since she wasn't holding him up very comfortably and didn't enjoy thinking about how high up in the air he was right now, or how he was technically being help up in the air by a woman right now.
"It’s tooootalllyy ok Lon’qu…..seeeee you aren’t even riding me. Besides the treasure is like the beeeesstt bit! You wouldn’t wanna miss out now, would you?" she said to him as they flew further up, though her certainly didn't feel okay, he felt the complete opposite of okay.
Finally near the edge she dropped him down, he landed hard on his right leg, which in return ripped open a little more. "Tch" he said as he pulled out another bandage to cover over more of the wound.. It was going to be a pain trying to explain this to the healers back at the camp.
He got up, none the less though, putting his weight back on his sword/makeshift walking stick as he followed after Nowi to look for treasure.

"..watch clouds?.. pick berries?" Lon'qu said in a sceptical voice.. Just how carefree was this princess? With such a war going on, how could you just, laze about like that? It felt hard for Lon'qu to understand, he wouldn't do those things whether there was a war on or not.. Everyday was the same, training. Lon'qu thought back further to when he used to hunt insects.. but it wasn't long until that thought process went sour, the past should stay just that, the past.
“What do you wanna do?” she asked him.
"Well on a day like this, I would train" he said looking over at her, she could do with some training, healer or not.. though then again.. "Perhaps it would be better if you decided though.. I could do without your whining and complaints"

It was incredibly hard not to pull away as she cleaned the blood of his hand, she was surprisingly gentle as she thoroughly removed every last bloody stain, not that this helped him feel any calmer, though if there was one thing Lon'qu knew, it was not to complain about healers while they were at work.
When she was done cleaning the blood off he jerked his hand away quickly, startling her, though he was feeling just as startled, he tried very hard not to think about who had just touched him, trying to trick his brain into forgetting she was a woman.
“Does your hand feel alright?” she asked him
He looked back at his hand, surely enough the wounds had healed over nicely, he paused slightly as he thought more about how she felt, before getting up sharply and moving away from her, pushing every non food related thought out of his head as quickly as he could to avoid freaking out one way or another.
"W- well then.. what are we to serve the other shepherds now?.."

Lon'qu gently smiled upon hearing her determination to get better with the blade, while right now she wasn't the best with the blade, with hard work and determination she could get a lot better for sure. Upon her saying she was going to try again and he could look this time he replied "Give it your all", hoping to spur her enthusiasm on, though he felt flustered when he realised he had to watch her more carefully.
He half-covered his face with his hand as she got ready to strike again, her pose was such a brilliant one, she certainly wasn't lacking there. It was probably due to how much she danced, her posture was.. incredible, the way her hips swayed gently as she prepared herself.. Lon'qu shook his head vigorously trying to shake such thoughts out of his head, such thoughts are unacceptable, focus.. focus on her. Her movements! Yes, not just her, her movements, angle, power, speed! Yes, those were the things to focus on.

Lon'qu was yet again heading the battle, letting his sword cut through every dastard who got in his way, deftly dodging anything that came his way, this, this is why he spent so long training and honing his skills, nothing calmed him down more than running through these scum, the world would be a better place when the likes of them were dead.
He was about to continue forward into battle when he was tapped on the shoulder, he turned around slowly, making sure there were no enemies about. Please don't be a woman, please don- Luckily it was Robin, their tactician.
"I'm going to need you to check the back lines Lon'qu, I have reason to believe we might need you there, don't worry, we can handle the rest without you" said Robin.
Lon'qu wasn't particularly pleased with the tactician's decision, what were the chances that scum like this could get us from back there? But he trusted Robin's intellect and instincts enough not to complain. Lon'qu quickly broke out into a sprint as he made his way to the back lines, if he had to check it out, he would do it quickly.
It was long until he caught sight of a bunch of cut-throat dastards closing in towards Maribelle, who was on rear healing support. That, was the situation, one unarmed woman and a bunch of ugly brutes..
"Unacceptable"
Lon'qu gritted his teeth and charged so quickly and silently in between the Maribelle and the brigands, cutting the throat of the nearest one.. they barely had any time to react, taking a couple of steps back from the Lon'qu, who had a look on his face like a blood-crazed wolf. This scene, was all to familiar to Lon'qu, and he'd be damned he was going to let her die like this!
Ambushed! [general/anyone?]
It was perfectly sensible for Maribelle to be relegated to the back lines, given that the Shepherds had managed to cordon off the Risen and secure the area. As a mounted healer, she could easily reach any of the fighters when needed, provide necessary aid, and duck out of harm’s way before the Risen can reach her. It was almost elegant, how cleanly the battle had been staged, and she noted to herself to praise Robin for it later.
Her horse scuffed his foot against the ground impatiently, and she scratched his ear warmly and stroked his mane. She scanned the ranks of fighters, waiting for her opportunity to be called into action—
There was a loud zing! as a short axe flew by her head, shaving off a few strands of her hair. She whirled in alarm, her horse rebelling slightly in fear, and…. Were those reinforcements? A pair of brigands from down the mountain, it appeared, and they were eyeing her expensive clothes greedily, axes ready by their sides to be thrown again—
She started to scream, but quickly managed to stifle herself. She gripped her Mend staff warily and wondered whether it would be better or worse for her to be holding her parasol instead.
It was nothing to worry about. They were armed and she was not, but she was mounted. Surely there was a way she could evade them without needing to bother the others.
"Ya look pretty lush, lady," one of the brigands said, with a disgusting smile. "There don’t need to be a fight. We can take yer things quietly an there be no trouble, yer?"
"Low-born scum," Maribelle hissed venomously.
The other brigand frowned and advanced toward her. “You watch that tongue, missy. I ain’t afraid to kill yer horse.”
She tightened her grip on the reins, unable to decide whether to stay or run.

Lon'qu turned around very surprised to hear his name being shouted behind him "Y- yes? I was.. cooking?" he said, slightly unsure of himself and very unsure as to why she was shouting at him. He was just about to turn back around and fix the "blood stew" the food was at this rate about to become, before he was suddenly pulled down onto a chair by the wrist with surprising strength, he didn't even have enough time to complain about the fact a woman had just touched him.
He just, sat there as she recited her spell, trying to avoid looking her in the eyes, of which her expression looked somewhere between anger and concern. Instead he looked over at the food, which was by now.. well suffice to say they had failed their job.. They'd be better off letting someone else cook by now, while they cleared up the giant mess they made.

"I have no need to speak to people, it is not necessary" Lon'qu said indignantly, trying to ignore the point "All I need to do is be stronger, so I train, talking to people will not help me cut down brigands and bandits"
Honestly he didn't quite fully believe what he was saying, times had changed, it was just him and Khan Basilio like it was back at Regna Feroxi, dealing with this new environment was, difficult for Lon'qu, so he mostly just kept to himself.
Lon'qu shook his head and looked around the area "It would be wise if we changed our position, it's possible there are people setting a trap for you as we speak.. Better you go about your daily business for now and I follow you from the shadows.. It'll, be easier for both of us if you forget I am here" Lon'qu said quietly.

Lon'qu finally looked up at her when she spoke, he, of course, didn't recognise her, maybe she didn't care much for history? Oh well it's not like this mattered much, he was only a substitute.. Still, might as well try to get a repertoire going, it's either talk to her or sit here in silence.. And it's not like sitting in silence wasn't something Lon'qu didn't want to do, it's just, ugh, gotta try sometimes to break the usual routine.. Think of it as, training.. yeah training, that's something Lon'qu could get his head around.
"You don't exactly look like a bad student, you all look the same to me, so who am I to judge you on whether you showed up or not, honestly it would've made my evening easier if you didn't though, since then I could go home" Lon'qu much to the surprise of himself closed his book and leaned back in his chair, asking Panne "So what stupid thing did you do to end up here?"

Lon'qu was taken aback to see Gregor's line bob down so soon and they had barely just begun fishing.. Lon'qu tried not to let it bother him as he focused himself on his own rod. Yes, soon he would catch the biggest fish of them all, he was sure of it, positioning himself further upstream from Gregor was the perfect plan to catch more.
He looked over to Gregor, trying to mimic his posture some more, honestly Lon'qu didn't know very much about fishing, but it didn't exactly look hard. Lon'qu tried to calm himself down, unlike Gregor of which whom being carefree was easy, Lon'qu couldn't quite get himself to wind down, making his line bob slightly with his tense he was holding his rod.
..fishing? | Gregor + Lon'qu
Gregor jumped slightly as he was jolted awake by Lon’qu. “Eh? Oh, right…” he grunted, rubbing his eyes and sitting up straight. As Lon’qu confidently declared he was going to win, Gregor casually put a maggot on the hook. He examined the river for a moment before swinging his rod and sending the hook into the stream.
With the hook in the water, he adjusted his grip on the rod and rested his head on the back of the tree. Maybe he would let Lon’qu win so the man would be satisfied and stop challenging him. His attention suddenly turned back to his rod when he felt a tug.

Upon hearing her groans Lon'qu instantly got up alert, looking around before bending down to pick her back up and put her back down on the ground "You can't be hurt can you? I sensed no one nearby.. Are you all right?" he enquired with a concerned tone, cursing himself for not paying more attention, and all the while completely unaware she was just acting.
He quickly realised he was still holding her and took a step back obviously flustered but trying to take his duties more seriously, taking his time to assess the situation "ah" he finally noticed after staring at her carefully that she was unharmed, and if anything, looked very bewildered by his sudden actions "I see now, it was a ruse to persuade me to talk.." Lon'qu let out a long sigh and sat back down.

Lon'qu stared down at the now red cabbage, pausing slightly to assess the situation "Ah, it is my blood" he announced, content he had worked out the situation Lissa was yelling about.
"Hmph, it's not too much to worry about" Lon'qu murmured, clearly not all that aware of what was something to worry about, the blood was pouring out quite quickly, he tried to stop it with his other hand, but that just ended up with the blood getting all over his other hand and clothes.
"Ah, uh okay you, stay here and I’ll go run and get my staff! Don’t move!"
Well uh, there wasn't much else for him to do except stay here, but- "Gods the food!" Lon'qu yelled out, ignoring the blood as he rushed over to the overflowing pot, trying to fix the problem but at the same time getting his blood everywhere.

Lon'qu blinked a couple of times at the sight he was seeing, though he really shouldn't have been so surprised, this was Gregor he was talking about.Lon'qu half wanted to drop some maggots on Gregor, but decided against it, lest it make him not want to compete anymore.
Lon'qu took in a deep breath "Wake up Gregor! Our contest is about to start! Do not think you can get out of it by sleeping!" he yelled at the sleeping sell-sword.
Lon'qu sat down heavily and brought out the bag of maggots, pulling one out and piercing it with the hook "We are starting now and I shall catch the biggest and most fish, you can be sure of that"
..fishing? | Gregor + Lon'qu
Gregor blinked with surprise as Lon’qu offered to fetch the bugs himself, but put on a smile. “That be very good,” Gregor said with a nod. The less work he had to do the better. With that, Lon’qu left, telling the man to head back over to the river.
Gregor snatched up his nod and strolled back out of the camp and back to his tree. He leaned the fishing rod against the tree and sat back down, letting out a sigh.
The wind was blowing and the shade was nice and cool. Gregor was so comfortable in his position… it almost made him… sleepy. The man blinked several times before his eyes fell shut. He sat there with his eyes closed for several seconds before a faint snoring could be heard coming from him.

Detention (AU) || Open RP
Worst, job, ever, maybe Lon'qu had made some bad choices in life, but no one deserved to be a substitute teacher.. The things he had to do for money. How is it though, that they're so understaffed that they needed the damn substitute teacher to deal with detentions? He'd only been subbing here for a few days and already he's roped into regular teacher duties, only with half the pay.
Lon'qu walked along the long corridors of the high school, keeping a large distance between him and any female students and teachers, pausing every so often to glare back at anyone who looked at him funny. Sure, he didn't exactly look like much of a teacher, he'd given up wearing a tie by the first day (couldn't get used to wearing the damn suffocating thing) and by the third day in the only 'formal' thing he wore was his watch.
Finally he reached his destination, the class where he now had to spend several hours supervising some delinquent kid who'd broken some rules probably. He opened the door and walked in, sitting down at the teachers desk and putting his feet up, he checked his watch, 3:56pm, not long now until the student arrived.
"If you're a guy sit wherever, if you're a girl, don't use any of the front row seats, got it?" he called out to the student without bothering to look up from his book of ancient weaponry.

"Always have your guard up mage, though I doubt we're going to find anyone out here, keep focused on finding the sword" he replied to Ricken as he went about his orders to check the border's like Lon'qu had asked, Lon'qu decided to stay in the village a little longer, pausing to give his respects for the bodies he didn't have time to bury.
Lon'qu sighed and walked around the small village, it was likely they'd kept some livestock, but even then perhaps it wouldn't be enough for them to live on, Lon'qu paused to consider if there even was any legendary sword to be found here, or whether it really was a rumour. Lon'qu balled his hands up into fists and gritted his teeth, "Dying because of a pointless rumour.. tch, this sword better exist.."
Lon'qu finally walked off after Ricken who was done with checking the area, apparently there was a path even higher up the mountain "Good, let us go then" he said as he started walking further up the path.
It wasn't long until they made it to a graveyard, near the very top of the cliff side, from the looks of it quite an old graveyard, most of the gravestones were worn away, even the biggest gravestone near the edge was worn away enough so you couldn't read anything on it, was there really anything here at all?
A Grand Quest | Lon'qu + Ricken
Lon’qu was right, there were no bodies so maybe the people of this village escaped. The thought calmed the boy some. Ricken walked around the ash, looking for anything to clue them in on what to do next. He didn’t have much luck in this department, his eye wasn’t as keen as the swordsman’s, and he wasn’t really sure what he should look for anyways.
Ricken looked around for Lon’qu, the man was checking something on the other side of some rubble. Ricken was ready to walk to Lon’qu, but the man was already half to him before he realized. “…Alright, I’ll get to looking. Do you think they made it somewhere safe? Should we be on the lookout for them while we search for the sword?”
Ricken followed Lon’qu’s orders, walking the path to the towns borders. He wanted to be useful, but that episode didn’t help anyone. If he wants to continue being a Shepherd he needs to find a way to strengthen his nerves. Ricken didn’t dwell on the thought, the matter at hand was far more important than his own weakness.
He didn’t see much while he wandered the border, the village seemed pretty normal despite the location. He still had no idea how the people of this village lived, there was nothing that it could use to sustain itself as, far as Ricken could tell. It was just a village situated between a path back down and further up the mountain. A path up the mountain. What could possibly be worth going up higher… hmmm.
Figuring this might be worth mentioning to Lon’qu, he would have a better idea of what to next anyhow.
