Shoutout to fictives who’s source is not who they once thought!

Systems often don’t get to choose who gets introjected, and many systems gain fictives with little to no knowledge about the fictive’s source. Here’s to those fictives who find out later that their source is not who they once thought, whether that means their source is a bad person, made bad decisions, or anything else!

It’s important to remember that as fictives, we’re not our sources! Some may feel like they are their sources, but if that’s a distressing thought for you, you absolutely do not have to continue to think that way! It’s okay to distance yourself from your source after you learn more about them. It’s okay (and healthy even!) to develop into your own person, separate from your source! This does not have to change your fictive identity in the slightest - you’re still totally valid as a fictive, introject, and system member even if you no longer identify with your source!

It’s okay to feel shocked, confused, or betrayed after learning more about your source and discovering they aren’t a good person. Your feelings are valid, and you’re allowed to feel them to the fullest! You are not responsible for the actions of your source, and even if you feel intrinsically connected to them, please know that you do not have to nor are you destined to follow in their footsteps. You are capable of making your own choices and decisions!

Regardless of how knowledge about your source affects you, know that you will always be a welcome and important part of the plural community just the way you are. You should feel no pressure to change for better or worse after learning more about your source - it’s okay for you to just exist as yourself, whatever that looks like for you!

Remember we care about you, we’re rooting for you, and we believe in you in all that you do! Please don’t be too hard on yourself because of decisions made by your source. Take care of yourself and your system and show yourselves some kindness! Thank you so much - we hope you have a lovely day!

Transgender Mentally Ill and Disabled Couple With a Cat, Losing Our Home in 20 Days

We are two DID systems, one transmasc and one transfem, both mentally ill and physically disabled. We were instructed to leave by the 24th of February.

My sister has gotten the OK to let us live with her, but we cannot move in until the 1st of March. There will be a 4-5 day overlap in which we will have absolutely nowhere to go, so we have no choice but to find a motel and storage unit.

We need about $300 to make this work. Donations are gladly accepted, but my partner has opened commissions (link) for TTRPG and other OC character designs and reference sheets.

Wow, this is REALLY neat!! I'm a fox cladotherian and cosmic fox otherkin, so obviously I think this is really neat. I love how they're absolutely huge and super smart.

I love the range of fur colors! I have to ask if that means they can look like multiple different kinds of foxes too? Red, fennec, tibetan, etc?

I'd love to see this more fleshed out and even more writing about it!

So we've started writing! It's mostly for a dnd campaign and any feedback would be appreciated as long as it isn't "furry cringe" (NOTE: The document is still being worked on, so do expect some changes)

Introjects from the system's or a headmate's own writing are so awesome. It makes sense that your brain would create a headmate from something that's a piece of you, anyway, and latching onto the personality and design of a character that came from your mind makes sense too.

These headmates are very real, and very common even in previously non-plural authors. Writing a character takes getting into their headspace and learning how they tick, because they're a different person than the writer, so of course it's possible for a headmate to form from that. They're not "just OCs" that the author can play with, they're people too.

Introject-heavy systems honestly make a lot of sense in a day and age where media is everywhere, and a lot of our childhoods are dominated by it. Especially if your system is traumagenic or neurodivergent, having a lot of introjects is pretty logical.

Even if the introjects in your system are fairly recent, they're still real. Traumagenic or not, hyperfixation or not, you're still real people.

I don't like getting involved in syscourse but I feel like a good chunk of it could be solved if we just accepted that CDD systems and plural collectives are fundamentally too different to co exist in the same spaces. On the topic of syscourse, I wish the endo discourse wasn't so prominent? Like I'll be honest, i do not give a fuck if endos "exist or not" (they're obviously experiencing something. Legitimate sources and actual studies about them would be cool but oh well, i dont think were at that stage yet) I just want people to stop spreading misinfo and stop acting like something being a disorder means you have to be miserable about it.

Thank you so much for not allowing people to send in syscourse, I'm not plural but I have a lot of friends who are endogenic who are told they're faking for attention, OR people will insist they're actually traumatized and need to unbury/publicly reveal their "secret trauma" to be "valid" which is even worse :(

Insisting that endogenic systems (specifically who don’t have trauma) actually do have some hidden trauma somewhere that they just don’t know about “because the disorder is doing its job” can be and is very, very harmful.

Making yourself believe you went through trauma that you never had is bad! Who would have thought??

Anyway. If you have absolutely no trauma as a system, you’re 100% still a system and allowed to label yourself however you want. Suffering is never a prerequisite to existence.
