A few notes:

Transferring a Windows installation completely between computers is easier now than ever! Windows always used to freak out if you dared put your hard drive into a new PC but it (mostly) handles it pretty well these days, you might just need to get some drivers yourself especially for GPUs, but most of the time it will download them automatically from Windows Update

If you're not comfortable opening your computers and just swapping the two disks around there's free and open source utilities like Clonezilla that allow you to clone one disk to another, you can even do it over the network if you have nowhere to store a backup file

Also! Logging in with a Microsoft account will link a Windows license to your account, allowing you to activate a new installation by just logging in

Of course on the other hand a fresh start with a Windows install like anon said is a good opportunity to clear up old bugs and organize your stuff! But copying an entire system is quite easy now too :3

Think of your settings and installed programs as utilities in an apartment, and your files and such as your furniture and stuff. You pick a new PC and you get all your utilities hooked up, then bring in your stuff! Sadly really the only way to move computers is to pack up your files and set up everything else fresh on the new computer, it's extremely difficult to transfer *everything* because every computer is entirely different. I learned that the hard way unfortunately. It wasn't so bad when I moved PCs and just transferred all my files to the blank new one, it gave me the chance to organize all my crap and programs better at least!

YEAH I AM LEARNING THIS IS ALL I CAN REALLY DO which isnt actually a problem! the only thing I cared about transferring tbh was the OS since like. I dont want to pay for that or buy a new copy of windows lol. BUT I guess I'll have to :')

this is such a clever trick!!! this is what I love about older software, the crazy hacks and tricks developers used back then to wring out every last drop of performance from the hardware

I've annotated the Windows 95 boot animation: The screen doesn't update any pixels once it's initially drawn, instead the VGA palette just has a subsection (colors 236-255) that's rotated, saving on CPU cycles during the loading screen. This is animated at the correct speed: 7 frames at 70hz, so 0.1 seconds per frame.

And this one is slowed down to 0.5 seconds per frame to let you better see the color changes.
