“Are we missing anyone?!“         A zombie deck story

“ARE WE MISSING ANYONE?!?!”

-Eager to build a new standard deck I start to look around for my decks stars or the key cards to set the theme of my deck build “Hey guys! Let’s do a quick head count before we make our standard decks… Umm anyone see Gi-”

Chandra belts, “Nope! That’s everyone!” She then leans over to Nissa to suggest “The world will bend at our will now without ALL of us, well at least with the two of us sane & one of us motionless..” Chandra erupts into histerical laughter with a paralyzed Nissa while glaring across a field at Liliana and Jace who appear to be on some sort of hallucinogen. Deduced from the fact that Liliana is stumbling busy rambling about zombies and angels intermingled with her commanding what we can only assume is a congregation with the level of power felt from her voice. While Jace lay silent in a meditative state trascending our very frequency at times to appear to disappear and reappear into our dimension while ocassionally returning with a few bruises and lacerations.

Unable to move fully and unsure of the full extent of my own mental faculties as some images flash in and out of my peripherals correllating to that of Liliana’s ramblings. I began to rock and close my eyes so I could easily tell myself that Chandra hadn’t convinced Nissa to brew a cup of an ancient plant hallucinogen instead of the tea I originally had assumed she kindly offered. I’m sure Nissa had no part in that, I hope. Just focus, back to basics, clear your head, and focus on your breathing!

“Breathe, just breathe…” Beckons the voice in my ear. The ground feels moist, and I know I’m immersed in a world beyond my comprehension; too startled to open my eyes I maintain the hardest blink I’ve yet to experience in my human life. Crawling close to the ground, smelling dirt and feeling tremors from beyond the surface of the dirt right under my palms I finally gather the courage to open my eyes to only look at dirt, right? Before the grand reveal my head hits a hard stone-like object and assists my body in summoning the muscle to open my eyes. The view beneath me was more settling than what lie before me, I had been crawling parts of dirt, gravel, and the intrails of the very last member of a hoarde of zombies that stand before me. Their shuffling couldn’t be detected as the dirt remained loose from their grave birthing, I had hit my head on a tombstone and was still located in their birthplace.

Is it luck?

Got the kaladesh booster box. Hafta admit I was questioning whether I wanted to buy the booster for this one as I have not played red yet. SOOO not disappointed with my SO's decision to purchase. We pulled a foil mythic, Lotus Petal; the store we sold it to is now selling it for $127! We were able to turn in some modern & legacy rates to make up the difference to get another booster with a "bundle box" (fat pack). Upon opening those we have 2 Dovin Baan and another planeswalker, we also opened ANOTHER foil mythic, Mind's Eye. That will certainly pay for our January purchase 😜. With a stack of mythics and an abundance of rares I am ready to deck build! Ideas: blue/red control-burn, black/white life gain, and blue/white flyers. Is it luck for you guys too? Hope so!

Eldrazi Moo-, Erm.. Eldritch Moon

The Eldritch Moon release is here, hope you all prepared for NO gift box this release! Personally, I will more than likely get a gift box for kaladesh's release, I'm nearing a storage issue. This block is especially interesting to me, I'm a huge fan of the art of shadows. EMN serves as a blender of many mechanics, creatures, & tops off deck themes nicely with their new additions. Need / want more dual sided love from mtg? EMN has it in a beautiful way! Offering 2 cards that flip to combine into one big eldrazi for you! The mechanics for flipping are simple; normally it reads similar to once the other half enters the battle field flip & connect your monstrosity. Now the reality of this is, you get a BIG creature for slightly less BUT when it dies are you out your big guy and your 2 undersides? As far as I've seen, yes. So make sure your prepared for this!! Also there are a number of instants, sorceries, & enchants designed to take out your over-the-top eldrazi; yes even your emrakul has a preplanned demise.. I'm in a all too familiar place if trying to figure out what deck to build ha! So I'm tinkering with a black,blue,colorless eldrazi deck but not sure yet. There is always my favorite, blue <3 I will be building a solid blue with the standard block for sure. Shadows did inspire me outside of my norm with deck building. I built some pretty brutal things, an all green landfall, black red vampire madness, & a combo of sets brought about my blue white counter flyers. Some questions for you all out there... Is a deck declared multi colored if it has colorless in there? (I have a blue colorless, is it bi-colored or just blue since it's devoid?) What card mythic or rare are you most excited about when cracking your packs? How will emerge work for you? What color(s) are you building a deck with? GO! Updates!

If you enjoy Pokemon Go banter or just funny things you need an imgur account. That being said; browsing imgur this morning and read a post my SO sent to me, about Pokemon Go (title checks ;) out). Apparently this person as well as a few other sites, have been able to read what the game is coded for. Remember this is all a perception based assption; for example there is talk of an incubator that decreases the km simply because there is “distance” labeled within the coding for that incubator. Now this is just possible information recovered BUT there’s a lot confirmed within it as well! The legendary birds are there. Level cap at this point is 40. It also takes 5 million XP to move from 39 to 40! Mew is mythic in rarity.

Also clarity on prior post! Attaching your device to the actual blades of the fan will hatch eggs. The mph you must not exceed for hatching is no more than 15. 🏆Mystic

GO! But watch where you're walking please!!

Pokemon trainers are everywhere. Hell one ran in front of my car today (stupid idiot must’ve missed the warning on the loading screen DOH!). With people on every corner in their phones, lures on every densely populated area of stops, gyms camped at all hour of the day, & all the glitches, I would like to share some interesting bits I’ve learned!

Pick a starter Pokemon that isn’t a type that you would typically find around you. I’m surrounded by grass, forest, & water; so I picked charmander. There is a random spawn point for him in my area but only the one and some other fire types are said to spawn in select locations (to even out the types you carry I guess).

When carrying a lucky egg save all your evolutions and any other high XP yielding activities for when the egg is active to level faster!

A friend has told me that you can cheat your way through km’s without walking by strapping your device to a fan, I thought this was measured through gps but he claims it works (still not tested). For those with small children that will refuse to go on a extended walk I recommend taking a drive at nap time with your SO or friend to use your device and take a nice drive at below 20mph so it counts as walk time!

Now the Eveelutions.. You can give them different nicknames as evee, then restart the app and evolve them! So the names will dictate your Eveelutions. They are as follows: Vaporeon: Rainer Jolteon: Sparky Flareon: Pyro

Gyms are an excellent way to exhibit your Pokemon prowess to the local populous of trainers. Play to your advantage, no brainer right? You get to see what Pokemon you will battle so make sure you select your Pokemon accordingly! Bring a friend! Strength is always in numbers, both of you can engage in battle simultaneously with the gym leader(s). To attack you tap the screen, each basic attack builds up a blue bar that is your special attack meter; to use it you hold your finger on the screen & text will pop up informing you that your Pokemon is readying that attack. The opponents Pokemon will have the same text show when they use it so swipe to the left or to the right to dodge it. Practice makes perfect & timing is everything once you’ve got the necessary Pokemon with a sufficient CP.

1st world nerd problems...

Standard play consists of only so much, I've had to temporarily retire myself from 2/3rds of my card collection so I can focus on standard builds... I miss running mill-proof decks with the elixir of immortality artifact.. Ugh! At any rate, when deck building I ALWAYS seem to overwhelm myself >.< sounds silly but I go through the creatures first for my theme.. There's the problem, I get too excited over the mechanic of what build with which colors, etc. My poor fiancé was greeted at the door by me sitting in the floor surrounded by cards rambling on about a horror/goggles, r/g landfall, tricolor madness/surge decks and I'm pretty sure I was stumbling over my own words just out of excitement. Speaking of excitement... Eldritch moon anyone? I know I'm already looking up booster boxes for myself >.<

Cards everywhere

Started this cardboard crack addiction in the middle of the zendikar release.... I have 3 gift boxes full of cards now with 12 decks built..... Fml, just bought another shadows over innistrad deck builders toolkit & I'm definitely going to get my hands on an eldritch booster box.... On another note got a few more ideas for more standard builds, definitely goin to hafta bite the bullet & buy singles for this red/blue I REALLY wanna start running. Call me cheesy but I kinda enjoy naming these decks. The counter blue/white flyers I'm calling frequent flyers deck -.- it's silly; the blue/red will definitely be horror goggles... Now I need some ideas for token generator cards to build decks around. I want to build an army of wolves or spirits I think, any ideas out there? Much love

Re-building decks

So going to attempt some standard play and attend some small local tournaments. Very excited / nervous! Been looking up how most of the standard pro's are building and man, I'm way far off from the car types they have at their disposal. Never a worry though! I have plenty of wonderful deck mechanic ideas but for what I have available I think it could survive a couple rounds of a tournament. Now to try to figure out what kind of conduct is proper for people, I don't wanna accidentally be rude or anything! Having only played legacy and for less than a year I feel gimped playing standard rules but like I mentioned before, I think I'll survive! My first standard deck build is a blue / white flying creature build with a lot of +1/+1 counter building for all the creatures. As always with my favorite (blue) there is control involved but toned down FAR from what my mono blue first deck was. Wish me luck!

It is upon us!!

New release today!! Innistrad is out, I hope everyone is prepared! I’m excited since learning (still learning) of the lore with this release. It seems to revolve around my favorite planeswalker, Jayce! Picking up a fatpack now, hopefully ordering a booster box later this month, & participating in my first draft this month!!

8 MTG decks & counting.....

As previously stated I've been playing for a few months & have somehow managed to build 8 decks already. 😳 I started with a blue control deck that has became so much more <3 that deck will always feel special, hah! Having played all of the colors now I believe I am ready to create my first tricolor deck. Soon I may be brave enough to start my rainbow deck! As it currently goes I run with: Blue - control White - life gain (work in progress, every card soon will generate life) Green - BFC Green / blue - morph Blue / white - control/flying White / black - warriors Blue / black / colorless - mill or die Blue / colorless - control / ramp *new deck in work* Blue / black / green... Not too sure what I'm doin with this one yet, just threw 30 cards aside recently to get an idea of a beginning build. Any suggestions on these 3 colors for a build let me know!!!
