A seeker is the person who seeks the hiders. That was the initial and original idea behind the gender system and the name choice,

Had a whole lot more planned out for it, but never found the interest to execute it in the end and then we forgot lol. (In this case a hider gender system to match the seeker gender system.)

so, whump is a literacy subgenre of the hurt/comfort genre that more or less focuses on the physical hurt side more (hence the hurt side) and sometimes focusing on more taking care and healing the one who has been whumped[the whumped = the person who was the subject of torture and physical hurt] (hence the comfort side). it's also a really big subgenre that can encompass a lot of different themes depending on the readers/writers and it can include darker themes(sexually dark themes in this context.), yes, such as rape from time to time but it isn't something I've personally come across much about such topics. it's a wide range of things and isn't always related to sexual dark themes, but it is related to angst and heavily so on that one from time to time. it cannot really be pinpointed to specific things and themes, only that it's under the umbrella of hurt/comfort like angst is and sometimes (to my knowledge) has been referenced as the physical side of angst (which is more of a emotional situation unlike whump that's more physical.).
