Heya, so. I've been getting notes I can't see, and they're either from someone who has blocked our main blog or ghost notes - in case they're not ghost notes, could you, like, idk fuck off?

If you've got our main blog, Reveseke, blocked then don't bother interacting with our coining blog either. There's a reason you've got our main blog blocked and that reason most likely isn't something that has gone away just because we're on a side blog. :)

Just, for lack of a better word, please use your brain. It feels hypocritical to a degree to us if you're interacting with folk's side blogs that you've got blocked on their main blogs.

We actually have done barely any archiving today, despite not sleeping in 33 hours and thus having free time, so. Let's talk about addiction. Briefly, because I am tired, but nonetheless.

You probably know an addict, even if you don't know you know an addict. And if you know us, well, you know an addict. We're currently in withdrawal. It's from cannabis, so it's a relatively easier form, but we're still in absolute hell.

Despite being exhausted to the bone, we have not slept in 33 hours. It's not for lack of trying! It's withdrawal causing insomnia, and then restlessness on top of that. We're overheating, so much, but hardly sweating; everyone else is fine, and it doesn't change based on what we wear or where we go. We're hungry but all food just tastes bland or disgusting, making it difficult to eat even when it's been prepared for us. All the little aches and pains we usually get but tune out are being so loud and impossible to ignore. Even with our meds and trying to work on things we really enjoy, we can barely focus. I have queued probably two posts today. Two. This is our second day of withdrawal. We have about two more weeks of this hell before it starts to get easier.

This is one of the easier kinds of withdrawal to go through. Cannabis withdrawal won't kill you, but other kinds, like alcohol withdrawal, can and do kill. Some kinds of withdrawal can cause uncontrollable behaviour and panic. Withdrawal can be not only painful, but terrifying. You lose control of your body and mind, you're in so much pain you can't begin to describe it, your loved ones are scared of you, and you don't even know when it'll end. It would be so easy to make it stop, to get back to feeling stable. Just take a hit, get some more of whatever substance you're craving back into your body, and you'll be fine.

It takes a lot of willpower to resist that. To be having one of the worst experiences of your life and to know how to make it stop but force yourself to endure it anyway. It's not weakness when someone in withdrawal consumes their substance. It's them running off of a very basic survival instinct. Hell, even with our relatively minor withdrawal, the only reason we've been sober the past 33 hours is that our weed is completely packed away, we're unable to get to it.

A lot of queer people are addicts, and yet even in queer communities, people shy away from the topic. Nobody wants to discuss it in a space with minors in it, nobody wants to bring the mood down, nobody wants to confront that they are not immune to becoming addicted. But we need to talk about it. We need to challenge the stigma around addiction, we need to ensure space for addicts in our communities, we need to listen to addicts themselves. We need to acknowledge that many addicts are or started as minors, even using substances before puberty. We need to remember that anyone, regardless of their background, or personality, or experiences, can become an addict. We need to recognize just how exhausting and painful it is to go through things like withdrawal, and how isolating and quieting addicts just adds on to that pain.

Addiction is a queer issue. Addicts are a part of your community. Addicts will always be a part of your community.

We're going to make the requests we already have in our inbox when we have the time and energy. Save for the slightly Stoopid band persmusque req, since we noticed it got requested from another blog. Shrugs, sorry 🌈anon lol.

However, hi. We aren't gonna be all that much active from forward yet. Schools still in and all, and we're focusing on it primarily over Tumblr. But, we're currently in a better place mentally and things have gone slightly calmer in external life where a little notification from Tumblr wouldn't drag us under stress, thus unprivating.

hi! i am a paraphile. we need to talk about paraphilias.

the big three are the ones most people know. aka, pedophilia, zoophilia, and necrophilia.

some people (if not most) do not want to be attracted to this. it is a result of trauma and a survival mechanism made up by the human mind.

not every paraphile wants to act on their impulses. most dont. but because these disorders are so stigmatized, they often cannot get the help they need or want to get better at managing it.

i do not believe animals, children, or anything dead can consent. this is upheld by the law and the moral code of human nature-- protect kids and animals, respect the dead, dont harm them.

some people act these out via kink. which is okay as long as it is done safely and consentually.

there are certain paraphilias that are completely harmless. some people are attracted to rain, some are attracted to plushies.

i myself am an autoassasinophile. i find being close to death or injured very very attractive. i deal with this via my partners. they both help me out, with consent and safety measures in place. i am allowed to stop anytime i want, and so are they.

paraphiles arent evil. they are people too, and deserve to be treated as such. the more we encourage the destigmatization, the more people can get help and manage these impulses better. its not normal for these thoughts to be ocurring, but they can be managed.
