anyway i did these a lil while ago but i've had this stuck in my head for a bit so i'm plaguing y'all with it here ig. these are ocs, btw, not from anything in particular.

(one is an astronaut, the other is an Other Worldly Being tasked with keeping the universe safe from intergalactic threats. the Being brought the astronaut to his plane so she may argue in favor of humans being allowed to explore the rest of the universe. the two spend some time together while she thinks through her options and the Being, though strange and cold on first impression, has an almost... soft side to him)

You know what I especially love about this scene?

Some people question why Garnet waited so long to tell Steven she was a Fusion. Even given the fact that Steven had a complicated reaction to finding out other things about her (Future Vision comes to mind), the fans have sometimes wondered why she would have kept this from him. Did she think he would judge her? Did she think he wouldn't understand? Did she think he'd want Ruby and Sapphire to spend time apart so he could get to know them and she didn't want that? Did she cherish being seen as "an individual" by at least one important person in her life? Did she just want it to be a special birthday surprise?

Enter "Alone Together." Steven has experienced fusion for the first time and Garnet embraces this opportunity to give Stevonnie affirming advice. Putting aside the fact that this would have been a weird place in the story to stick another giant reveal, what I love is that Garnet knows enough about fusion, enough about experiences, enough about Steven and by extension Stevonnie that she knows this moment is theirs.

What I love about this is that Garnet marked this moment with encouragement, buoyed Stevonnie up to see fusion as the act of living as an experience, encouraged them to just enjoy the heck out of the life they're suddenly miraculously living. For someone less in tune with how much this matters, it could have been an opportunity for Garnet to introduce herself, to use the situation as a platform to share something so important about her, to bond with Stevonnie over their commonalities.

But Garnet knew this was STEVONNIE's moment. She didn't hijack it to make it about herself or about fusion in general. She wanted Stevonnie, first and foremost, to have and be an experience.

I first watched Star Trek: Deep Space Nine when I was in primary school and loved it. It's still one of my favourite shows of all time and definitely my favourite Trek. I eagerly devoured the novels, looking forward to new titles appearing in our local bookshop.

So to suddenly discover all this time later that Sid and Andrew are the biggest Garashir shippers ever, that they've recorded a mini-series, and that there are novels I haven't read before - adorable and heartbreaking novels - is...

Like meeting your childhood best friend again after decades and chattering away like you've never been apart.

I can just FEEEL the gears twisting and turning for the story!! I love it so far, and I can't wait to see what happens next. :)

So, I have been pondering around and playing with a few stories I want to write. I was thinking about all of the different ideas and figured out that...I don't know where to start.

First two ideas could be interpretted as "add-ons" to my Alone together? multiverse. Both Pirate and Badger Cleo had parts of theirworlds thoguht out that I didn't get to write and I want to change that

I was also thinking about some other scenes that I didn't get to and questions I have left unanswered (examples: would Life Cleo and Pearl made up? How are the Lifers setting up in their new world? What about Saint Pearl?). I feel like I could make a oneshot/request book for it...but only if you guys would be interested in.

And then....there is this one story I thought of all the way back when Zombie Gem was introduced and I wasn't able to write it :( I had so much going on and this story just faded into the back of my mind....until now...

So, here I am, once again, turning to you, with a brand new poll! I want to create and write them all of them, I just don't know which one to pick first...

Because once again, I am unable to choose for myself, how fun!
