/  I talked before about the paralels of the myths that surrounded king A.rthur and C.onstantine XI in a post before, but it has never crossed my mind to think about how his design could reflect this; basically tsun sent me a post on reddit where someone gave a possible explanation for the drastic change of color on C.onstantine’s outfit in his final ascension (going from black+magenta to white/marble-ish color + magenta) and the way it makes s o much sense has me y ellin g tbh-

/  I know they are two very different figures, BUTBUT! I couldn’t help but think about this belief about C.onstantine,, and how as a legend it was believed he would come back to rule once again as his body was not found (even tho historians agree that he died in the battle that lead to the fall of Constantinople) and this is just like that popular belief about King Arthur, and how he as well would return once again to be king at the time his people will need him the most-

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 .

▌real name:  Constantine XI Dragases Palaiologos

▌single or taken:  Single; Died unmarried.

▌abilities or powers:  Good riding skills (B+), a skill he possessed in life and got carried on to his current self, magic resistance (B+), Independent action (C+++), possesses the protection of the cathedral of Hagia Sophia, however because of how after the fall of Constantinople the cathedral was converted to a Mosque by Mehmed II as well as upon its conversion having its iconostasis and other christian elements removed, his skills state that this protection is not particularly effective in modern times. As the last emperor, he also possesses a variation of the skill ‘imperial privilege’, however as he fell on the battlefield as a mere soldier, it consumes less energy to bequeath privileges to others than to exercises said privileges onto himself. Another ability he possesses is the one of being able to summon a sort of reality marble that mimics the walls that protected Constantinople and which deemed it during his time as impenetrable. Because of this collective memory humanity has of the walls, it is -almost- indestructible― in theory;; in the end, although it offers great protection, it is possible to destroy it as the walls inevitably did end up falling upon facing much more advanced technology, as a result the likelihood that these walls will fall is possible and increments in accordance to the number of enemies it is facing against to. To not ramble any more, he is also a skilled saber, a trait that got enhanced by his status as a servant.

▌eye colour:  A light brown that almost looks gray-ish

▌family members:  Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos (father) and Helena Dragaš Tuya (mother)  /  probably about 10 siblings, however many of them died young.

▌something they don’t like:  not being able to offer protection, impotence, 

▌hobbies/activities:  Playing chess and shogi, some card games

▌ever hurt anyone before:  Yes

▌ever killed anyone before:  Yes

▌role models:  Past emperors and rulers, particularly of Rome.

▌sexual orientation:  Bisexual.

▌thoughts on marriage/kids:  Although across his life he’s married twice at different times, both his wives died at different times and Constantine himself ended up dying unmarried and without any children. It is said it was one of his concerns the matter of leaving the throne heirless, and that despite the attempts of a friend of his to find him a wife, Constantine ultimately died unmarried. Now his thoughts on marriage;; he would like to fall in love truly, and his emotions and feelings run deeply, however it sometimes feels as if love is something he will only get to observe from afar and never get to grasp it himself. In regards to children and because of his good relationship with his own siblings, he would have liked to have and raise a child, and although this didn’t impact him in a way that left him with regrets as he would have probably suffered a lot if he’d have to see his own family in despair during the fall of Constantinople, he can’t help but sometimes think about how his life would have been if he had formed a family.

▌fears:  His biggest fear has been the destiny his people would have to go through once Constantinople were to finally fall; those that decided to stay and would have to pay the price of his ‘incompetence’ and his limitations. He would not be there to protect them. He fears being weak, he fears not being able to stand to his title of emperor; the concept of ‘failure’ and guilt haunts him.

▌style preferences:  Back in his day, clothes with bright and intense colors were popular as well as tunics with tight sleeves and tailored waistlines, belts, sashes, layered clothes, rings, etc; however despite this all, his fashion is very simple, yet he does maintain a preference for bright colors. He likes suits yet is not against wearing more casual things. He finds shirts that have printed things on them to be fascinating, and such is his wonder that he sometimes might loose his own sense of fashion in exchange for wearing such ‘unique’ things.

▌someone they love:  His people.

▌approach to friendships:  Despite his enthusiasm, politeness, and willingness to make friends, he finds it quite difficult to find a common ground to stand on; as in connecting with others. It doesn’t help that he is so different to the previously summoned emperors and he feels a sort of inferiority complex next to them as a response to being the one emperor with whom rome fell down with. Another matter that contributes with his difficulty in making friends is that since young he’s been involved in matters regarding reigning, administration and training like a soldier, so a lot of things that others might have experienced, he's never crossed that path.

▌thoughts on pie:  WONDERFUL! a nice cherry or apple pie would be wonderful!

▌favourite drink:  Tea, wine. fruit juice

▌favourite place to spend time at:  He would greatly enjoy taking walks around gardens, other than that, he is happy wherever you take him

▌swim in the lake or in the ocean:  He doesn’t know how to swim! yet he would like to learn

▌their type:  People that refuse to give up no matter the circumstances, that despite the adversity and their own limits and inner battles, they can at the end find in themselves the courage to face forward. On that note, courageous individuals. He also holds a lot of respect towards people who can be compassionate

▌camping or indoors: outdoors!

              𝐓𝐇𝐄 "𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐍𝐄" .    back again young one? still not comfortable with your new title? yes, I can see you are one that prefers the simpler things in life but you do deserve the rank they have given you. oh little sparrow, have you just now realized you are an owl? soaring the skies with gleaming, outstretched talons. you lived your life blinded to your own abilities, but now the truth is out. you did not ask to be a hero, which pains my heart to the core. but alas, the people have given you something so true and bittersweet you cannot bear to refuse them. for they have given you their trust. they praise you, songs will be sung of you, ballads written, feasts in your honor. but "why me?" you quietly whisper to the stars. if you could speak their language you'd hear their simple reply, "because." you, out of the finest candidates were chosen to be a sacrificial lion in golden chains. your loved ones chanted your worth as it echoed from the steeples. but what was your say on the matter? I guess you had little to none, and unfortunately, neither do I.    but destiny is not a burden, it is a gift, you feel weighted by the entire world, your shoulders ache from the hopes, fears, and dreams of the people who have chosen to follow you.    but their adoration isn't blind my dear. you are strong, you are worthy of the armor, of the crown. when you look back you will realize that you, my young god, were truly the savior many called you. do not run from your purpose, seek it. and I do not mean the heroic of sorts, no, search for what makes you alive young hero, for here's a secret, you are just as much a hero to others as you are to yourself. if wouldn't make you a villian, to tell them no...
