@cromwellharvests​ has left a present. a garment box gives away a little bit of the mystery before it's opened, but hopefully not too much— leave that to the note written on pretty stationery laid on top, with her ever-familiar, overly-neat handwriting. 'i saw this fabric in the shop ages ago and it made me think of you– if there's anything wrong with the fit, please let me know.' the fabric mentioned being a slightly iridescent, deep blue organza, with little gold flecks woven in, tailored to a blouse with a wide, deep-v shaped collar, and bishop sleeves, (with little golden buttons on the cuffs, to match).

Well, if this wasn’t a wonderful surprise, than what was? Easy certainly had wonderful taste, and Aurora’s smile cannot become any brighter. She holds up the blouse, admiring it in all of its glory. Oh, she’ll have to wear it next time they have a chance to go to lunch! (And she'll certainly have to hide it from Amelia, she'll snatch it quicker than Aurora could tell her no!) The note does not go astray, and it will fit nicely in the box of letters she keeps on her desk.

I am compelled to once again shout from the mountaintops that Zelda, in one universe, is hopelessly, desperately, comically, wholesomely in love with Emily Cromwell and absolutely marries her. In some variations Emily follows her to court, in others Zelda joins her on the farm, but no matter the setting, she is completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.

The smallest of smirks pulls at his lips as eyelids fall downward. Gently a hand is reached out towards the suitor...

...only to pluck away the glass that was unfinished before them.

that said, (and existential angst aside), I’m pretty close to the end of the quarter, and the rest from here on out are probably going to be a titch lighter so... I’d love to get back into the thick of things on here fairly soon. I’ll probably put out a proper plotting call in a week or so to— and I know this sounds crazy— kick off some real threads, like in the before-times.

They have their first big fight and when they make up, it’s Zelda walking across Emily’s foggy garden Pride and Prejudice style before FINALLY giving her love confession (because let’s be real, Zelda was likely the cause of the argument) and just—

That's about all he can get out before his feet leave the ground an inch and his breath is promptly halted by the affectionate crush of Easy's embrace. Kamakiri bites back the urge to sputter--thinks the position he's in embarrassing enough without flailing and protestation--and instead goes relatively still, quiet.

...If his sudden acquiescence has anything to do with the small swell of joy in his chest, well. He'll just have to hope it isn't too obvious.
