I love very much that Sei Satou is dead. It was incredibly symbolic of how much control Asunaro has over the lives of its members and its techniques to make them stay devoted, taking away their loved ones. Sei was the glue holding Kai and Gashu together in this terrible morbid organization, and with his death, a mountain of grief sprouted up in between them. Gashu showed his cowardice; not willing to face Kai or even linger in the same room as him for too long, and Kai became a completely different person; seeming completely void of emotion and expression after years of crippling loneliness before meeting and working for the Chidouins.

I do like to believe that as resentment for his father started to build, Kai committed small acts of rebellion such as doing things like drugs and other actions he knows his father would never approve of.

However, back to the original point, I also hate that Sei Satou is dead and therefore I have decided that The Young Assassin is simply Nankidai's AU where Sei dies and in real canon Sei gets to grow old. Thank you for listening
