I love Laios for many reasons but my silliest reason is that he is TANK REPRESENTATION. My boy is 100% farm raised beef and while he can obviously handle himself in a fight, I love that he doesn't have any cool weapon skills or special abilities outside of tactical monster knowledge. He just swings his sword. His job in combat is to wear heavy as fuck armor and throw his weight around. Ryoko Kui knows that a real tank isn't afraid to get brain damage (that's what the healer is there for).

Conversely, this is also one reason why I love Kabru, in the opposite direction, because I am a career DPS and I love his pure DPS energy. I love that he's a Dex fighter who looks like a baby deer and keeps a knife in his boot.

He and Laios were destined to team up and be an unstoppable tank/DPS combo, they just weren't in the right story for it.

When you put the two stats together, it's actually really silly that Timmy made a million wishes in 8 seasons with a timeline of 50 years (Since this happened during Timmy's Secret Wish), and Hazel made a million wishes in 1 season, with a timeline of 1 year.

I feel it would have been fine if she got the rule free wish for just having them for a year like what the original series did, rather than this milestone that isnt really feasible. She'd have to be making around three thousand wishes a day, and given that we see many of her days, she has to make up for them on all the other days which means even more.

Even with more realistic numbers, Hazel never came across like someone that makes so many more wishes than Timmy, though I guess she canonically is.

Just realised that when Jake chooses to remain on DS9 during the Dominion Occupation, that's probably got a hell of a lot to do with his experience during Nor The Battle To The Strong, right?

Even though I'm certain he must have been thoroughly told that running away wasn't his fault, how much did he think of staying on the station as his chance to show everyone that this time, he wasn't going to run away to safety when things got bad?

you know sometimes people bemoan about how historical gays used to have a lot more drama and a lot of the time there's this implication that the various interpersonal dramas and sexual tensions and feuds in various literary salons or artistic circles were a reason for or an engine for creation and i myself have absolutely fallen into that same trap of just being like, well, all these complex and fraught relationships must have driven something

but looking back in retrospect, having extricated myself from a developing cult situation borne of what was before a somewhat messy polycule, where genuinely not out of evil but out of simply being like... mentally and emotionally traumatised by past abusive patterns, several people were explicitly and openly denying the reality of certain abusive behaviours in favour of maintaining the status quo, or were outright rejecting things like "let's talk explicitly about our needs and our feelings" in favour of more psychosexual games that involved like. thinking sometimes that one or more people involved would outright try to kill them

i know that for some people there's a big draw in a certain derangement or nonconsensual masochistic cruelty to their intimate relationships, and that for some people, a response to trauma is to only really feel invested or engaged with relationships that feel to some extent dangerous, and that relationships that feel "safe" in fact paradoxically feel very threatening or overly demanding in their stability

and i'm not one of those people, turns out.

this whole situation really hasn't been pyschologically good for me, and what's more, it's not even been creatively good for me. so what the fuck was the point in all that
