I am once again saying that if you write rockstar eddie/want inspo for writing rockstar eddie, please read dave grohls book cause omg I can’t stop thinking about eddie while reading it.

like just being a young musician in the late 80s/early 90s, traveling in cramped up vans, playing dingy bar venues, then moving up to the whole huge rockstar life— it’s all just perfectly encapsulated in this book with so much dimension, and it has helped me envision a whole potential lifestyle to put eddie in (I literally do not know a thing about being a rockstar) also dave grohl is fucking cool and has lived an equally cool life idk

Man, sometimes I get so emotional thinking about Terry Pratchett's Mort.

It's such a circular story, (well all the Death books are in a way, but I'm not talking about that right now) ESPECIALLY considering Death's remarkable memory (able to remember things that 'have yet to happen' etc) cause then when you reread it, you have the faintest insight to Death's memory, cause you KNOW Death shows up at midnight and takes Mort as his apprentice, you KNOW Mort and Ysabell get together especially after Mort "really got to know Ysabell" - which is a direct phrase said Twice, first by Death himself and then by Mort on their wedding.

Its fascinating and heartbreaking all at once, cause at the start Death stares down at this image of Mort who is all knees and can barely scare birds away and he (much like us upon a second reading) KNOWS this lad is going to marry Ysabell, cause chaos, and become the Duke of Sto Helit.

Also let me take a small moment to politely air out my grievances on the take that Mort and Ysabell's romance is rushed.

I politely disagree.

As readers we see Ysabell develop a crush and even love Mort, but we don't get to read and see what happens during the time after Mort challenges Death, when Mort and Ysabell and Co. wake up in the field!! We don't know what happened after they wake up, how many months passed, or their courtship

that being said I suppose it could be likewise imagined that it was rushed

but I politely do not subscribe to that

Currently watching: sort of working my way through Critical Role campaign 2, but it’s taken a back burner due to other stuff

Currently consuming: nothing rn but last thing was Oreo fluff

First ship: oh man. I’m gonna go with the first ship I read fanfic for. Which may have been for fmab? Edward/Winry but quickly evolved into “if I wanted to immerse in canon I’d watch the show again. I’m here for what didn’t happen” which lead me to other ships such as Edward/Mustang.

Last movie: uhm. I’m honestly not sure. I’ve been doing games and reading for entertainment lately, or when I do want to watch something it’s critical role. If I had to guess, it was maybe rogue one? Because I think the last series I finished was Andor and I would have had to go back and watch Rogue One again after that.

Currently working on: not sure how I want to interpret this one. I’m choosing what video game I’m currently fixated on which is Planet Crafters. I’m terraforming a planet lol

I think I want to make a few reading goals for 2024 soon, and I’ll make a post here 🤔 there’s a couple series out there in my collection I just haven’t prioritized or finished that I’d like to get to so I know if the shelf space they take up is worth it lol.

My dream is to basically live in a library (manga, novels, any books really haha) but I do have limited space to work with at the end of the day. Maybe one day I’ll have bookcases installed in my walls or have some fancy setup but not yet 😂

ughuy things just keep happening!!! Rejected from a job at the last minute, my depression is just getting worse and worse as I get more and more isolated, despite my best efforts to combat it, and now just yesterday my laptop battery dies and that's where I do like 99% of the work I can do. Don't even know if I can afford to repair it, definitely can't afford to replace it. And during all this I'm trying to improve myself as an artist and learn how to market myself online or whatever so I can maybe one day do it full time but that's just impossible while juggling life tasks that are necessary to.....live. This is not a unique experience by any means but the way things have been happening in rapid succession recently is just wearing me down man

Bit early to say for certain, but so far my meds are helping me sleep better AND not feel nauseous anymore when I eat breakfast 🥺💕

Also having some CRAZY dreams, but thank GOD no sleep paralysis (maybe bc my sleep quality is better now idk… I usually have SP episodes when I’m sleeping really badly, or procrastinating sleep until 3am…)
